lemon balm mint leans
'pon robust oregano....
one-hundred degrees
Catch tugs towards their berth
Little yacht traipses triangular trail
Cottage clasping slope admires bay
Fisherman’s wife swells, eon enamour
For his boomerang voyage, she brings
Tomato rocket fishpaste pita bread
Thermos of jasmine tea, to picnic
Basket bemuses bee buzz blooms
Manna powder release from each
Pink proclamation jesters jostle
Solargold galaxies galavant, plentiful
Dianthus dilate, lemon balm overlap
Pale gravel path merges blonde sand
Their footsteps converge, bone beige
Neck nuzzle murmurs leather bound
Sunstrike bounces blind broadwater
Diminished senses replenish focus
Duty for union, find food free of market
Encapsulated in cove of commitment
Genmaicha gratitude values volume

Fairies in my herb garden,
Busy with their chores,
Produce such lovely blossoms.
Chamomile, sage, basil and parsley,
Peppermint, spearmint, marjoram and garlic;
Lemon balm, thyme, dill and oregano;
Chives, marshmallow and saffron,
Even the favorite, catnip.
Fairies encourage their blooms but,
I can’t let my cat go out there, to soon.
She chews the catnip bushes to the ground;
Catnip’s so tall, that it hides the fairies and
I don’t want them to get eaten.
A SEASONED SONG
rose,oh rosemary
sweet aroma to me,
fragrant,my thyme with thee;
lovely lemon balm
ope'd hand is my palm,
mark! love's finger print,
indelibl'd with mint;
hold sweet basil at bay,
hark! these sage words I say
my evening primrose,
see my ardour grows
aside the mistletoe.
Such is this feverfew
in my lovage for you
Listen to me read this poem on youtube under the name ichthyschiro
It takes planning, a graveled path, herb sets
to create a heavenly perfume
some time around bloom time
excess pruned down by a third and hung.
We see a bit of the hanging God then
in the silky down of lavender, thyme
offer homage of pressed violets,
golden suns of marigold as tune of awe.
The mincing of the mints is heavenly
as candy, sharp peppermint, mellow lemon balm,
the bedding down of chamomile, poppy maw,
the spiral sweets and gingered leaves of geranium
shavings of orris root, too many iris anyway
so free them all and set the scent create a smelly sum.
Add carnation stars, sticky sweet hollows of fennel
to tell the men, here is where the women live
won’t you remember your marjoram, your rosemary
with the pots on to boil, or laying head on crisp sheets and sigh.
It all takes planning, to decorate, alleviate, scent
create the corners of a life. Let’s go set the herbs.
Then breathe in the heavenly scent of potpourri lent
as offering, homage to all the plenty wonder of our lives.

In
day's
of yore,
Melissa
officinalis-
inhibited the hive from swarming
Note Lemon balm (L4/5) also known as bee balm was rubbed inside the hive to
keep the bees in the same hive and thus the winter stock of honey was safe for another
season.
Mnt and sage
Refreshing infusions through the age,
Rosemary an evergreen
Chive th smallest onion see;
Basil for ice cream & sweets
Fresh Majoram for that special treat;
Bay leaves heighten any stew
Coriander for curry too!
Oregano in tomato rescipes
Lemon balm annoints the breeze;
No wood above the ground
In these plants can be found;
Neither a shrub ,nor tree
In our gardens ,growing free.
