KnickKnack and PattyWhack were volatile twins
They have been angry since they wore diaper pins
Focusing on their negatives, both are always mad
I cannot blame their mom, so I blame their meanspirited Dad

Amare tumi Ashesh -Tagoreweb

amare tumi Ashesh

Unending a bliss from you in me , mystic thy muse is such a sweet amen
quenched once, rejuvenated again, life reborn, endeared , again and again

So many valleys en carved so many river basins, trailing through delta ashore
My knickknack harp chanted your lungs to breathe beyond embellishment
so many times a chord for so many more
Patsy a churn, i yearn here to happen with my shenanigan, feeling t'was unanimous once more
With your divine an ode My soul sharer , wisdom retold , my reverie heart song
as the flight soaring high through rythm , rhyme and the ecstasy divine joys knew no bound
a handful of me
my catapult reverie
tantrum of my another may, my mundane trivial everyday,
and the bittersweet trouble belongs to me, only traveling back to me.

Tagoreweb amar sakal dukher pradip

(amar sakal dukher pradip)

Thistle Thal, My reverie floral, beyond the valley and greenery, handheld delight, the sun
Incomplete ritualistic my pain, meditation to be fulfilled in completion
Whence the day is done and the returning birds are back to the nest, very own.Bestowed
Dusk of the twilight hue heard the bell, still afterglow dispersing the beset, even though
Then my last log will be my solitary feast, the fire of the divine, my life
A festive fire will have my pliant knead, and a plethora of my remnants chime!
.Shinangan through shenandoah , knew us through delighted knickknack, canopy
The fullest brim is tossing and turning to greet you whence wilmette, wills met a noon
The festive fire will lit up starlight one by one , aurora borealis, the kindled and the boon
They’all a rise together to the superlative, in chorus, a hymn, on the eve, beseeching
The flight of a song , the sunset, and the reason, and the resilient passion of yearning !

Premium MemberWhite Christmas Parody

I'm wishing for a white kitten
or a playful cute little pup
Christmas is glowing and my heart is opening
for a pet with a nice close-up

I'm wishing for a white kitten
or maybe a pet that is black
every ball on my tree will crack
and each treasured curio knickknack

I'm wishing for a white kitten
my whole home they will takeover
will be under my bedcover
and stuff on sills will be knocked over

Christmas is glowing and my heart is opening
for a pet with a nice close-up

I'm wishing for a white kitten
I can hear the kitten purring
and I can feel my heart stirring
truth told a white kitten preferring

Premium MemberTrixie Wants to Write Poetry

meet my muse Trixie.
I want to draw.
she wants to play in the Thesaurus.
Trixie is a freebooter, marauder, pirate, she plans to win.

I sketch a monkey, elephant and acrobat.
I am in circus mode.
Trixie slams her green eyes over the big book.
she is persnickety, determined, and forceful.

fat blue Thesaurus is a harpy; she flips open.
I stare at these words - deaden, anesthetized, stupefy.
write them down! Trixie demands.
she is more trouble than a gewgaw, trinket or knickknack.

I avert my eyes, not wanting to play with words
now drawing a circus tent, and a popcorn box.
red and white striped popcorn box has arms and legs.
he sticks out his tongue in maniacal cartoon laughter.

Trixie flips some pages of this dreaded book.
gleaming, sparkling, glistening stand out.
magnify, enlarge and amplify bite me on the left arm.
I am not writing right now! I tell her.

she sticks out her tongue.
eager to work on a magnum opus, creative masterpiece.
I can hardly work on the giraffe.
curious I am to read words where she is pointing

lionize, glorify, elevate
vanish, disappear, dissolve
I begin drawing a lion, trying to break my muse's spell.

Premium MemberThe Curious Passing of Li Po

Two figurines fell out of the sky
Dropped from a crop duster plane passing by.
The pilot yelled, "Look out down below!",
But no one could hear, he was flying so low.
The dolls struck Li Po who was filling his sack,
Now the rice farmer lifelessly floats on his back.
He does not move, first victim of
A double knickknack paddy whack.

The Curio Cabinet

Another season nears its end
closing the doors on the dreams we played pretend
 in the days we hoped would never end;

a place where times are unchanged secure in their shells,
endeared moments regained within a magic spell
 of holidays and holydays renamed, long memory held;

the antique reservoir of child and adult things
knickknack recalls of earlier life scenes,
glass framed doors in their revealed etchings
the items of fading Christmas collections
 angels, shepherd, manger scene recollections
when moments are shared with love and perfection.

Close the doors, clean the glass, dust the trinkets off
the memories are stored that ever hide beneath the coif
hold them close, embrace them within your heart soft,
the season closes in on the once opened doors
and suddenly within the somber quiet
Christmas is hidden behind the curio doors.

Premium MemberIf I Were a Knickknack

If I were a knickknack
living on a walnut whatnot shelf,
I would be ideally placed
Between a pink dinosaur and blue elf.

If I were a knickknack
I would be a tiny lamb with fleece.
Played with by a six-year-old girl
Until I broke into tiny bitsy pieces.

If I were a knickknack.

Knick Knack Paddy Whack
Can’t take back a wisecrack
If you wanna be a crackerjack
Earn a greenback from blackjack

Gotta buyback your backpack
Need to blister pack your flapjacks
Evident ebbing of drawbacks
Raises the bar for the sad sacks

The good life, so Kodak
So long as you don’t sidetrack
Selfie people hide in haystacks
Hoarding their golden tie tacks

Shall we ponder how to give back
Go beyond the dusty knickknack
Respect deserves a worthy payback
Not a flimsy whimsy kickback

Society requests a comeback

Bear and Grin It

My friends are renting someone's house
So everything that's in it
Was chosen for another's taste
And they must bear and grin it.

The furniture, the linens,
Every knickknack placed inside
Can't be altered, touched or moved at all
By neither hair nor hide.

It must be strange to realize
That these strangers, as they cook,
Will have access to your kitchen -
Every cranny, every nook.

When owners rent, they must decide
To just say, "What the heck!"
Accepting that they won't be at
Their renters' call and beck.
