“That first kiss, the moment when time stands still.” – Unknown

We met at the park while walking my dog
It was warm and the air was full of smog
I was choking, and tried to catch my breath
A man came with water, said he is Seth
His eyes were sparkling blue and locked with mine
He invited me to lunch, on his dime
We met at the new café, at the bay
Talking for hours, it was a special day
Back at my car he asked me for a kiss
We kissed as I felt butterflies and bliss

Song of life starts from the very childhood
     initiating symphony with prelude.
supposed to be sung in parental care.
Mostly nice, yet tune may be sad , though rare.

Interlude is the sweetest part of song
to be enjoyed in youth, though not too long.
     Busy, active, vibrant and dynamic
Ups and Downs , staying enthusiastic.
Old age is last portion sung on postlude.
Tone in low, slow, morose mood to conclude.

With keen eyes, I follow July’s evening
Spread its blended palette of amber tints,
Of varnish 'midst interlude of showers
That  I enter into nature's mystique;
Before me— an avian carousal
A radiant skyscape where nightingales
And jays reel from warmth of moonlight, aflame
Circling within rare space of equinox:

Birds' flights slowly disengaging for now
From interludes of pewter pewter dew.

For Constance's Contest. 25/7/25
"Said the young man, I dont believe in magic - Replied the old man, when you first see her you will" Atticus.

Our time has come for us to slow the pace.
Just relax, enjoy each other's embrace.

Letting this rendition enter your soul.
And allow your thought waves to take control.

There is time to settle back, close your eyes.
Repose with restful calm, as it implies.

Immerse yourself in all my devotion.
To feel the power of our love potion.

Every offer of relief, not subdued.
Make time for respite, in our interlude.

“In the fall, I believe again in poetry...”
— Jaakko A. Ahokas

When September comes through heated breezes,
sunflowers watch droll dragonflies duet
to tunes of melodic taunts and teases
of Autumn's promise to pay Summer's debt.
A bright season greets us without regret.
Behind is buried under yesterday
and tomorrow is waiting for its say.
Joyful is this moment in Nature's arms
when time suspends until it finds its way
and ripe Autumn casts its bountiful charms.

Each year I spend a part of New Year’s Day
relaxing, still, in quiet solitude.
Reflecting on the past twelve months, I pray
for strength and wisdom for the brand-new year.
Included in my silent interlude
are pleas to face life's changes without fear.

I thank the Lord for blessings I've received,
including loved ones and all lessons learned.
Life is so good, and I've always believed
my blessings are far more than I have earned.

Lying betwixt and between is a pause,
For breaths held, to pirouette with drawn claws.
Lines prompted between curtain call and fall,
With mantra hummed to become or befall.
Hoping the wait is worthy of the chase,
To give mystery the time, space, and place
It needs to wade in the stilled quiet mind,
To awaken what haste has left behind—
In the questions never posed nor begun,
About shadows in the eclipse of sun.

Interlude

Napoleon the Second died today,
albeit back in eighteen thirty-two.
He had no truck with men like Soult or Ney,
but died too young to form a proper hue.
Would he have thrown a million lives away?

It ultimately matters what we do:
the world can disregard the dross we say,
and slaughter would begin again anew,
since ego , by its nature, seeks out prey:
the third Napoleon stood in the queue!

In a room lit only by candlelight,
we share a secret interlude of love;
our witnesses the shadows of the trees
and soft beams from the twinkling stars above.

Before your eyes, I wave my magic wand,
my eyes locked on yours in adoration;
your precious bottle dripping from the brim
with trembling, overdue anticipation.

My hand guides my wand inside your bottle,
plunging gently inside its secret depths;
then it stirs the liquid your bottle holds
while trying to control my shallow breaths.

Finally, reaching the peak of delight,
I withdraw my wand with little trouble;
taking a deep breath, I blow at the tip,
producing a very large…soap bubble!

Premium MemberMorning after

it rained all night
the morning came
in one cool gust
the world seemed different
suddenly calm and quiet

reveling in the moment it seemed
not so eager to rev up its engines
obviously delighting in just sitting
savoring this delightful interlude

Premium MemberLove's Romantic Interlude

The twilight breeze moves the ocean slowly
as the tide moves its waves in compliance
on the horizon, the moon gleams holy
a rising soft scattered glow of silence
beneath this celestial sky, we hold hands
to dream on the seashore under moonlight
the roses we held have dropped to the sands
from kisses warm that fill our hearts with delight
where we'll leave footprints trailing on the shore
that will be filled by the dark sea of night
and travel to where love has been before
finding love at the sea till' morning light
the sea is where our love was found and bloomed
it's where our lover's heart will be consumed

Premium MemberA Tryst in Interlude

I rise when gilded starlight still replete the skies
Never have I beckoned hours of abstruse sleeping
I hear elegiac trills as a lone nightingale cries,
evoking memories that conjure tears of weeping

In halcyon moments before the paling of dawn
I contemplate my sentiments in tranquil solitude
Before the world awakens with an unstifled yawn,
the moon, sun, and I rendezvous; tryst in interlude

When velvet darkness fades to soft aurorean glints,
there, upon the horizon is painted a nuanced murk
Colors of daybreak; a blended mural in pastel tints,
created by a grand Artisan's hand, the Master's work
