numb butterfingers
need inflatable buoys
attached to their phones
to stop the silly slip dips
to which dumb users are prone
air rockets skyward
uppercutting inside
plastic neon flesh
contorting at inhuman angles
what does my body language spell?
ankles anchored into the Earth
to stay grounded as the wave
of time and space crashes
a flood of stagnant flux
there is a symphony of bones
snapping and cracking
in twisted orchestrations
the act of existing for me
is a resilient demonstration
The balloon rises
up into the atmosphere,
floating through the air.
Pumped Up
A robotic boyfriend she dated
Was ‘blow up’ and voice activated
She had a quick grope
And said up periscope
And that’s when his doo dah inflated
Its uses, I guess, are debatable
But oh, what a grin it produced!
A turkey, both fake and inflatable,
Was in a new store introduced.
I almost gave in to temptation,
For what a good joke it would be
When the guests, beaming in admiration,
Would hear hosts claim it chemical free.
Vegetarians likely would love it,
Sitting out on a platter to tease,
While the faces of those who learn of it
Would spout giggles, to varied degrees.

I thought it would be fun to ride a wave
on my inflatable swan and just lave
in my pink bikini
everyone came to see me
swan took a dive, top gave way with a rave

Christmas lights on almost every house
And in the yard, a newer sight
Santas, Snowmen, and Penguins too
Bouncing about, as if to take flight
Tethered by air hoses and plastic spikes
They strain and dance in their plight
But in the morning they lay in a heap
Not such a cheerful or uplifting sight
Christmas cheer comes again at dark
A tribute to some decorating fun
Magical creatures again sit upright
Alive again until dawn has come
