Impediments Poems

Premium MemberSpeech Impediments, Moons and Spoons

There once was a girl from the south
Who had a hard time with her mouth
Boy with same issue said, (S)"poon!"
She said, "Not poon! We say, "poon!"
Correcting his speech without doubt.

To thin girl we constantly had to say,
"Pull up your pants, the moon shines not in day!"
She noticed my shirt, cut low...
"Mrs.Crystol! Your buttcrack shows!"
Sure enough, too much cleavage on display!

Premium MemberLoyal Love

From life, when all else passes away
True love will stay and never ever decay
Defying all impediments, it will survive
Leaving sweet memories, it will thrive.

Cementing hearts, it will make life jubilant.
It is never manipulative or fraudulent
Love is a flame burning bright and true
A light house in the sea for mariners to view.

In ill health and poverty, it will never subside
In rain and heat, it will prosper and never fade.
It is staying together through highs and lows,
Even when years pass and life painfully slows.

It is not just a fleeting passion but a commitment.
A bond that will brave every predicament.
It is one of mutual loyalty, trust and care
A connection that is strong and rare.

Everything else is secondary, so hold it tight,
For it ‘s a beacon in the darkest night.

Premium MemberHold on to this Anchor Please

When you stagger under the heavy weight of life,
There will hardly be anyone to ease your grief.

But there is always God as your anchor and fort
He is there ever gracious and ready to support.

When you make up your mind to reach God,
You’ll see a chasm separating you and the Lord.

Your legs may grow weary as you begin to walk.
Hurdles and impediments, your path may block.

Don’t be discouraged, please hold on to this anchor
As in chilly winter, for a warm day, we all hanker.

The opulence of this world, can never fill your heart.
It is in God you will find life’s whole comfort.

When sorrow strikes and life turns utterly bleak,
And in every trial of life, it’s Him that you should seek.

Into His caring hands, your life’s reins, you give.
He is enough to solve all your problems, do believe!

Introspection

My eyes are open
My mind is pacing
My heart is racing

So I close my eyes
And sit in quietude
I was told it fabricates a different attitude

Looking for the child
who needs to escape
While I listen to the echoes
Of the bowls reverberate

As I look into my Minor eyes
I begin to catechize
As I analyze
I begin to realize
My younger mind has been traumatized

Now I see my inhibitions with great lucidity
So I begin to question their validity

As we confabulated
Liberation is what eventuates

I open my eyes to a new feeling

Once a caged mind
Now unfettered
Once vacillated
Now resolute

Now I embark on an odyssey
With consecrated determination
Surmounting impediments without hesitation

Oh how my life has changed
Since I’ve been acquainted with meditation.

Moving Mountains

Mountains are part of life’s journey,
They’re obstructions that separate us from our treasures,
They’re impediments that divide us and the meadow,
Mountains are signposts to greener pastures.

Each day I see strengthens me to move mountains,
Each night I’m chauffeured through pulls me up the mountain,
The closer I get to the Father,
The higher it takes me up mountains,
The deeper I dig into His Word,
The better cliffhanger I become.

Though some mountains are recalcitrant,
They’re restraints to keep me on track,
They’re pride pruners,
They remind me that I’m not superhuman.

Visions aid me to move mountains,
The future I see strengthens my feeble hands.

Premium MemberSeek Shelter

Will you come, Oh merciful Lord?
To touch and heal my bleeding heart.
When I sob in suppressed agony,
Ease my heart so torn apart.

I entreat with a voice distressed,
To the one who always feels my pain.
Heal my hurt and purge my heart,
Of the sins which tacitly remain.

I stagger under the weight of life,
No one around to ease my grief.
I see you as my anchor and fort,
You beckon me with avowal of relief.

But a chasm separates you and me.
My legs grow weary as I try to walk.
My body ails with every forward step.
Carry me as impediments, my path block.

I see my world growing dark.
Grant me light that I will not grope.
Lend your hand in my tight rope walk.
That if fallen, I can spring back and hop.

I know, the opulence of this world,
Can never ever fill my weary heart.
It is in the sweetness of Thy love,
That I find my life’s whole comfort.

In the trials of life, in you I seek my shelter.
I wish nothing else but to be wholly thine
Lord, I wait here keeping my door open,
Will you come to make the light in me shine?

Independence Day

INDEPENDENCE DAY

Ours is a land of sage
We've come of age
Amongst the people's rage,
We're set to turn a new page.

Our dexterity, none can compare,
and drive, they surely can't bear.
Our cultures, none can beat,
but baffled by our humongous feats.

Whatever beliefs, customs, religion,
It brings us all into everlasting union.
Whatever diversity, miffs, or intuition,
we all live in here in unison.

With rivers and oceans roaring,
the Nigerian spirit is ever rearing
and surviving all impediments.
The land is green & strong like a regent.

We declare this day as our independence,
Long live Nigeria where our story begins.

Breath: the Symbol of Hope

BREATH: THE SYMBOL OF HOPE

In situations & circumstances, a man must grow,
perspiring until when the storms will eventually go.
Irrespective of hardship & what he goes through,
a man must hold fast to what is profitable & true;
his tenacity & will to succeed must penetrate
the impediments that make life fluctuate.
When your clan swims in riches and plenty,
And you flush down the drain with no penny,
think of many who accumulate wealth diligently
but couldn't spend it cos the grave open-mouthedly

swallowed them up in victory & left them with vanity.
Benevolent spirits only crack when swayed by anything.
This is absolutely irrefutable and objective verity.
A living dog is better than a lion death-bound
and hope isn't hard to find where breath is found.

May it be that your breath is your symbol of hope;
So grope to succeed and cope with your life scope.
Don't elope too long with your feelings,
but watch your steps and your dealings
'cause it's your doings that saves you from ruins.

Premium MemberXenodochial

 Quote:
"Xenodochial (pronounced zeena-doh-key-ul) means to be hospitable. Making others feel at home is truly an art. When you can make your friends, family, and even strangers feel as if they truly belong, you are making the world a better place". By Poet

In a rather distant and uncaring world
There is a virtue that is widely unknown
Friendly, xenodochial, and blithesome Words
A non-parochial warmth is widely shown
Strive to treat strangers with dignity and kindness
And to bless your soul, grant no eyes to blindness
You may glimpse angels—in this river of dryness
No impediments ought to obscure the light
Treasure is always found at unexpected sites
Always be suitable for fresh starts and height
Welcoming pathway lights are faint yet pearled
Bear in mind we harvest whatever we have sown
Don't scold or exhibit just a shred of unkindness
A star shining on you will be soft, mild, and bright

Premium MemberAlaska Sitka Sunset

As I near the stratosphere, I let loose
an untamed, raw rainbow

I pull on the tattered, worn ropes
of my hand-sewn hot-air balloon across
the hidden boreal quarry hill in the north

they rose above the nose
of a furious focus bear
and whack the back legs
of a swift white-tailed deer

on the tips of their fingers
they follow the wave's crest
gliding across the shimmering bay
toward the murky, muddy waterfall

I reach out from the wicker basket
to feel the wings of the migrating seagulls that fly south

I imitate their husky honking
before fading like a dandelion
awe-inspiring Sitka Alaska Sunset

I secure my spaceship to a sturdy sprout
relax on the radiant crimson ratoon

I mumble to the gray owl
"Who huh huh?" said the deep dock
spinning, spinning, swirling

the wind whirled the canopy away
as the scarlet sunset slackens into the starry sky

I let go of my bulky loads and flew into the stratosphere
without regard for any impediments
any concerns are left behind

above the clouds, I set sail

Located in the perfect place

Be Mindful Sierra Leoneans

Bad, worse and worst we grow, oh poor Sierra Leoneans
We seem to know our rights, but honestly we do not;
Instead we misunderstand them:
How can we fight for our rights against one who defends them?

Our situation is escalating to its peak.
We are damn harming ourselves, and not the upright man!
How folly is this thought:
To wander about the street in the name of demonstration?

For I tell you: we are destroying our little development.
If ethics would permit me to speak,
We are not prudent to do such!
And you, Mr. upright man,
You ought to patronage your people

In their impediments and hardship;
And not to add to their problems.
Uniform men, control your frigging weapons!

You were not employed to murder
But to defend and secure.
In all, we are all guilty—
None is exempt!
Let us be mindful about our country's future.

The Morning Star of Love

My eyes glittered into the eyes
Of thee who cast a spell on my heart
They glanced each other with pleasure
Upon hearing thy contralto voice,
Or seeing thy sight;
Thy presence in all:
I smiled with passion.
Under the proximity of the roof we communicated.
At last, we settled our funny dating.

We watched not each other of fear,
But overshadowed by the confidence of love
We, albeit the impediments enhanced from outsiders,
Loved our dear selves innately.
Didn't they say we aren't fit to be dearer?
Bravo! that we hearkened not unto them.
My love for thee exceeded the heights of the stars—
Which could not be succumbed to fall.

Aye, our love was no fancy
'Twas agapic as the natural world itself
We both couldn't say we loved each other!

Balanced unto that time
Not till when some other person,
In his calibration incomparable to mine,
Bewitched my thee to make her fed up with me
Our love, therein, became fancy,
Thus, fancy! 'cause we were no longer dearer.
It went deep to my faith!
I thereafter realized the troth of the saying:
"The beginning of Trust is the end of Deception."

Premium MemberNavigating Through Life's Highway

Hurdled is life’s highway to every milestone:
Detours, traffic woes~ impediments to goal,
Perturbing in hindrances that endlessly groan
Searching exit ramp to soothe anguished soul.

Though memories of yore, of pain bemoan,
Benevolence of today vows to mold morrow,
Prodding fate of future~ opaque, unknown,
Defying grievous intents in ill-will of sorrow.

Wished for earnestly, life is a cherished dream,
An exuberance of spring, of burbling stream,
A meaningful exploration of endearing theme;
Mystical, phenomenal, halo of mirthful gleam.

Life is a fleeting dot on scale of eternal time,
A journey of courage, yet harbinger of fears;
Gracefully revering the echoes of lifetime,
Whether reveling in joy or lamenting in tears.

Rejoice in life’s sunset, rejoice in life’s sunrise,
Greet charming smiles, yet ignore not its sighs,
Celebrate spring’s birth, mourn autumn’s demise,
Cheer life’s welcome, dwell not in goodbyes.

Our Relationship In Future

she's kind towards me, she's so nice;
and I'm sincere to her as well,
we are in something more than love,
what are our dreams, it's hard to tell.

and last night, outside college gate
we met and she said she's afraid
about my love and our careers:
dreams price by detachment'll be paid.

retreat is not good for my dreams,
only to get her skin for love:
          skin whose pleasures ain't eternal,
     eroding derms are all above.

fire and it's works are my int'rest,
    I want to be a volcanist;
        she wants to increase production
    for people, being a botanist.

I've to spend my life in rocks
    by watching curves and sediments;
It's hard for me to be with her
    checking insects, impediments.

so, we should not be one in life,
    she should marry a botanist,
who loves her and her green wheat farms,
for love who's not an arsonist.

love and marriage are not the same,
we'll be in love though not in arms,
whene'er we'll meet aft that in life,
we'll be happy, not without charms!
