Iced Cubes

I don’t get it
The now of then
The how of why
The who of whom


Six kids one toilet
Last one in line
Squeeze tight the cheeks
Such drama, nobody speaks


Hands that tell lies
Search for brittle memories
Clutch at the past
As it fades away


Don’t like the cold
It pinches my cheeks
to make breath clouds
The bus is late

Tea and Other Such Things

Have you ever had a Christmas Tea?
I used to say, "It's not for me"
'Til recently, I tried it, see
Turns out it's the best I've had

See, I never liked hot drinks at all
I much prefer cold, in the fall
I order iced, in sizes tall
But this one isn't bad

It smells like citrus in the house
While the radio

Iced Tea

The heat is so oppressive, I’m tempted to agree
Hell couldn’t be any hotter indeed, so I shall flee
To the arctic regions of my air-conditioned home
Becoming a sad recluse like a disconcerted gnome,
Thank goodness, I am a southerner of true gentility
Knowing the intrinsic value of homemade iced tea!

The Beautiful Iced Girl

There she stands in the wisps of the billowing snow, trying so hard to ward off the inevitable, blistering chill of the cold
She is undressed in all of her sorrow and her shame, frozen like a shard of glass waiting to thaw so that she can cascade down the pane
The icicles how they have encumbered

Iced Love

A breath is stolen from me
One I do so regret
Your tears were phony
And my sanity I must fret

A cold lipped embrace
Leaves me riddled with shame
A malignant chase
Always riddled with pain
I chase the days of blue
Leaving behind my past
Putting into words of you
Among things that will never last

I feel the familiar warmth of he
A constant, blazing

Long Island Iced Tea

This is an alcoholic drink invented at the Oak Beach Inn.
It contains light rum, triple sec, and gin.
Included in the mix is a good share of vodka.
Also thrown in is a hefty helping of tequila,
It's all topped off with a splash of cola.
Most claim it's from New York, but some disagree.
There are others who believe

Iced Tea

icy
refreshing
rivals lemonade
for the crown on summer days

sun lit
feels nature made
ice clinks merrily
announcing her

Unsweetened Iced Tea

I reminisce, I miss

i was ecstatic when
you told me you liked me
our story started off
as we sipped unsweetened iced tea 

it worked for a while
and things were great!
till the truth came out 
gave you a clean slate 

a couple more 
unsweetened iced teas later
it became clear to me
this wasn’t in our favor 

maybe it was

A Cup of Iced Coffee

This is a tale of the haves and the nots
Which I witnessed in front of my face,
A question of simply connecting the dots,
For it happens all over the place.

A woman was rummaging deep in the trash -
She was homeless, or so it would seem –
And extracted, to drink or to add to her stash,

The Iced Tea Break

Early this morning it was warm and bright
Song birds sweetly singing in the sunlight
I was out in my garden as I started to prune
Weeding, knowing flowers will be sprouting soon

The morning was soon afternoon and turned hot
I looked for my drink, I thought I brought, guess not
Feeling tired, parched it was time for a needed

Iced Tears

no shadows can dance
on these barren fields 
when a somber sky cries
its icy little tears upon them

A cup of homemade iced tea made
by our own mother
That was always appreciated 
when we were young in 
the hot summer days
that she would prepared for
us under no circumstances
even with a small task
No doubt about it is always
be tasteful and enjoyable
With added sweet flavor ingredient
along with a sliced piece of lemon
and a banana cream pie
