My Missy girl has got a quirk;
when it gets cold, she goes berserk.
Then she becomes the sled dog queen;
I think it is her Husky gene.
Iditerods now, we complete;
she tries to pull me off my feet.
She drags me up and down the trail,
and all the time, just wags her tail.
To cold, she seems impervious,
and also to the times I cuss
when she jerks me into a tree
discovering some scent with glee.
Or helicoptering the leash…
I get that she does not capiche,
and so we all get tangled up:
that's me, six trees, my crazy pup.
But winter cold lights up her world,
so how could I deny my girl?

Missy is a priss
Living in bliss
Who does things her way
Laying in bed all day
Her smile is so sweet
Always wanting a treat
Husky eyes all lined in black
Intelligence she does not lack
When she barks no sound she makes
A strange howl you can’t mistake
Daddy’s favorite she will always be
The only girl of the three
A sniff or a tear
Quickly she draws near
With a lick and a hug
Making you feel loved
Outside she loves no matter the degree
Ears flapping in the breeze
When I call she will tease
Wanting me to come out to freeze

husky puppy look at those paws
he could pull the sleigh of Santa Claus
I stopped by to look at his enormous jaws
he was parked by the Diner Old Fat Ma’s
on a dry bone I saw plenty of teeth gnaws
gawkers stopped. I heard lots of awes.
hawk came by with big giant claws
tried to lift puppy, but not with those paws.
it was quite a show though; it truly was
the rest of the crowd came running out of Fat Ma’s.
what a cute dog! They were yelling at Joe’s pas.
His regular and his step, both dressed as Santa Claus.

At 12:00
High-Noon
The train
Left New York
For the
Coast
Inside,
Echoed
A warning
From a shell
High dry
And remote
In the boxcar ….
“I’ll be back
In the spring
For rebuttal
When the lead
You have now
Is worn thin
“I’ll be back
for one run
Up the Hudson
With new oars
Pulling deep
From within”

For now, you are gone (or so it
feels) and so are my eye's
All I ask, is for one occasion in
this life
Where I can bless your ear's
with my explanation
Written words for me this far
have been unkind
they have failed me
Constant mistakes from a
passionate and misunderstood
soul
Possibly unaware, you drift on
A gentle, beautiful breeze
It whisks you away on a whim
of your own discomfort
You alone FEEL what you know
is true
However, so do I
A private, lonely mind and one
simple, needed and wanted
communication
It has been denied (as you feel)
If only I could talk, questions
that would taste rich with
honesty, feeling and
amusement
Say anything, anything and it
will be greeted with a perfected
calm.
An honest response would ease
(I know it would) and illuminate
your kind nature
A nature, existence, person,
communication
My mind and eye's truly, deeply
miss...
