Premium Member Hungering and Thirsting After the Real Thing

What and who is this almighty God?
He has no beginning and is everlasting
consider what His word says of His person
His son Jesus reveals Him in everything

God is real with a powerful effect
for He speaks in His authoritative word
this word can cut us to the quick
so thorough that our souls are stirred

The Lord God Himself makes us hunger
giving us such desire upon Him alone
for only God can really truly satisfy
as in Jesus whose sacrifice did atone

Without receiving the real spiritual drink
we faint with thirst for that cup
Jesus alone fills our parched soul
then we know His way takes us up

Are you in contact with the real thing?
is it just religion or is Jesus real?
look deep for evidence of a genuine touch
be sure you've found the divine seal

(Quotation: “We can know if we have encountered the real God if we are deeply hungry and thirsty for him. The sense of his absence, the dissatisfaction with his absence, is evidence that he has touched you.”
- quotation by Tim Keller (1950-now) Pastor and Minister.)

Hungering Revealed

In the sadness of a fevering heart,
Disrobed humanness can fade away,
Revealing rich spiritual realities.
The Word of God declaring His clarity,
In the futility of human hungering.

Steadfast love & justice make music,
Releasing fountains of satisfying coolness,
Calming pleading, sating needing.
Call others into the shower of joy,
& share the witness of His care.

She, in natures bloom
Pulsating lips now craving
Hungering demands
I to thee in loving call
Creativity of two

One For Missy Aka Hungering

Streets are dead in many ways
as ever looms the reapers snare.
Those asleep have now arisen,
that vacant swarm with deathly glare.
A deadly tide of hungering souls,
for whom the church bell gloomingly tolls.
A windswept scape engulfed by death
and patrolled by corpse with stifled breath.
Tomorrow has nowt' but a bite,
an endless plight of fight or flight.
With future plagued my final sigh
succumbs to fates cold lullaby.

Hungering and Thirsting

Majesty of God.
Answer to deepest longing.
Yearning for Heaven.
