Henry Houston hilarious hippie
Known to party hearty get tipsy
But last night
Lost bar fight
Because he got proud and lippy
I'll hide in the backseat
Of your old camaro
I feel the excitement
Run straight through the marrow
Of every bone in my body
As we drive past Houston
We run out of gas
I've got no solution
So we stay one more night in
A city that won't sleep
I pray to God
He says its not that deep
But I swear it's the best thing thats ever
Happened to me
So I try not to smile as I hide my teeth
Face down in the morning
I start the earl gray
You say at this point
We'll get there by Sunday
Makes sense to me
Because that's the Lords day
You feel like a prayer
Or a curse or a blessing
Every city we drive past
Leaves me alone in the guessing
But I just feel lucky to be here
With you on the highway
I know if we keep on driving
We'll make it there some day
Rebel Houston
(Snaps fingers) Acoustic Digital Hybrid... a breath, a fusion. So, what lurks beyond jazz funk, huh?/
Thinkin' big time, are you? Do you dig? Can you feel it as you pursue your passion for this jazz thing/
The inventive spirit of Rebel Houston burns, A saxophone supernova, learning, turning. Always into what's NEXT,/
not what's been. Right now, he's wrangling angles, Melodic patterns jagged and electric, Acid Jazz funk bleeding into Afro bebop./
Man, this cat... this cat is the vibe. The pulse. The current. Houston keeps step, Step, step, steppin', Into the Motherland, the source of love and hope, forged in sound,/
Blown through his tenor horn, a shimmering prayer. Meditation on the struggle of mankind, Aches in his fingertips, screams from the bell,/
Arranged, composed, a jazz logic unfolding, Melodic construction, harmony shaped anew./
This isn't just noise, it's jazz music architecture. It's the blueprint for the soul. New jazz funk, carved from the digital dawn, infused with ancestral fire./
So, are you hip? Are you listening? This ain't just music, it's a revolution. It's Rebel Houston, And it's happening… NOW. (Another snap)
Winged words of milk chocolate melody
Her gift of soul of ruby song rang
Inside me like charismatic cherry cobbler-a blackberry bell
That pure poetic power
Never will another fuchsia flower
Envelope our hearts with Whitney's divine uniqueness
You are healed, perfected diva, by The Potter Who made you
Were it so that a poet could find it:
the perfect combination of words
that would enlighten the hearts and minds
of all who read them.
But we all speak with different tongues,
and languages change,
and, even if they didn't,
the curious, uniquely crafted crystals
of our identities
interpret the one pure light in different ways.
Perhaps the revelation I perceived
on these hot nights here in Houston
touches no other but me.
In life, I believe I am meant to purify my dreams
and elevate my reality
until the two converge forever.
When desire and truth become one.
When beauty and eternity kiss.
When the heart finds the rhythm
to which it can beat forever.

The pretty red hair girl
at the Houston Station
gave me heart palpitation,
but she got all my revered admiration...
because she resembled a Barbie doll;
and I became so emotional!
Across the platform
two green eyes smiled;
was it fate or coincidence?
I turned into a maniac without a norm,
or control, I waved at her twice
and spoke too loud;
I didn't notice the skinny cop named Bob
had a look not so preppy,
he surely was kind of creepy
and said, " Stand still, show me your id! "
I froze trying to find
an excuse to avoid
a summons for harassment or disturbance,
" Ok, Fred...you told me the truth, I assume!"
The red hair girl at the Houston Station
could have gotten me in serious trouble,
I slickly got out of it
with a silly lie bursting a big bubble;
sadly, I lost a good chance
at an unexpected romance!
Every afternoon I stand at the exact spot
waiting for her apparition,
not trusting my admonition...
feeling the intense pain of a deluded heart!
Without a hint of her name,
there's little I can do;
will we meet again
at the Houston Station?
Neither of us is to blame,
we'll be feeling so blue!
Oh sky,
heavens...
SOS...!!!
we only have problems
here on earth...
As a beloved crown prince comes to reclaim,
the throne of his fathers from realm afar,
the slant of my heart as I drive - the same.
The city in eve; she shines like a star.
From desert I came; I knew in good time,
I'd breathe your fair air and bask in your breeze,
with the smell of the sea to nurture rhyme.
So soon have I come! Fate deigned me to please.
Back to the cradle I return as a man.
My eyes newly trained to see so much more ...
If life moves in circles, I know I can,
find what I seek, what I love, I adore.
My heart's near to burst; my head to careen,
I live again in land that's always green.

Houston, we have a lollipop
Peppermint Patty is outside the airlock
The lemon drops are handy and dandy
Secure as Loony tunes on the moon
Tasty as caramel popcorn parties
The Eagle has landed
That's one small step for man
And one giant leap for candy kind
Be gentle to your rainbows and unicorns
Kiss my wife and kids goodbye
And billy goats too if you find them
Kiss your jellybeans twice if they collide
With cotton or chocolate meteorites
Ground control we're stepping outside
Tootsie rolls are calling us on
To sweet flavored carpet ride smiles
Colored in nature by bubble gum tides
Floating on sugar coated cosmic waves
Fluffy white bunnies circle in orbit
In powdered sweet dreams of delight
Be kind to your lambs if they land
Happy happy joy joy, happy happy joy joy
Please, pretty please send some happy baked cheesecake
Whip up some hot fudge sundaes with a cherry on top
Houston, we have a problem
We need more lollipops soon or we will hold our breath
Turn blueberry blue forever
Or fall asleep, whichever comes first
Depending on the weather

The Great and Good of Finance , Politics
Must have sat down together at some point
A gathering
Of the Distinguished League of Extraordinary Gentlemen
Or National Geographic and Scientific Society
To discuss funding the Exploration of Space Travel
To go where no man has gone before
Place a human being on the moon
Escape gravity and earths atmosphere
Forward thinking outside the Box
Calculating an infinite amount
Of Mathematical equations and Scenarios
The Greatest minds we could summons
Took up the Mantle placed in front of them
Could Man really step foot on the surface of the Moon
And Yes we Can
The Answer came back
Affirmative
Yes we can
But Houston we have a problem here on planet earth
Would these great minds of our time
Not be better spent
Coming together
To solve the more pressing
Problems we humans face here on planet earth
First
Escaping
Starvation

Suffering
And destruction of the earths natural resources
Are to the average Joe like you and me more pressing things
To cling onto

Her light, her fire, drugs did smother
The impact addiction had on her, tragic
But whenever I hear her on the radio, magic

SUSAN RODE THE TROLLEY TO THE TRAIN TO HOUSTON
TO BUY A SPECIAL DOLLY
Oh! gee ooh-wee golly, golly;
Rode the tracks of the long trolley;
Little girl named Susan;
Rode the train to Houston;
To toy store purchased a dolly;

Monster Rears It's Ugly Head On Houston
To Houston's victims whom suffered the wrath
Of Hurricane Harvey's brutal path
The country prays for your full recovery
A fortuitous bounce of serendipity
Long live life, liberty and pursuit of happiness
In the wake of the worst storm in US history
Trump and cousin Sam did their earnest posture
While your cries of uncle yielded to this monster
From the dark abyss you all will rise strong
From the torrential rains of a trillion sad song
For the piano man played in wept tears
As a trillion gallons drowning those in fears
To a new day, we look for the sun to shine
It's rays spreading its way and hopes for cloud nine
To a new day, we look up to your skies
For prayers, the monster permanently closes his eyes

Houston we have a problem
Orbiting
Safe space
In a Bubble
Viewed through Hubble
We see the trouble
Not on the ground
But from the window of a station
Circulating into critical mass
Nature's come calling
Evolving
forming
Death and destruction
And repercussions
Butterfly Effects
God help those left
Subside the waters
Raise the heaven's
Wash away our sin
Let the light back in
a quiet, silenced courage
millions are entangled with prayers from the rest of the world
sincere prayers for the rest of this world, this broken world
millions are safe and unsafe
the ever so near relief is freeing
voices of hope resonate
lights beam and burst with promising energy
I can almost see the breaking of day
rest. resilience.
happenstance. beauty.
and circumstance.
I can almost see daybreak and it's breath-taking
come in - Houston, Texas
come home
find your way back
to the quiet
to the sweet silence
to the exhilarating courage
