Lifting the Hex

I bit the ampule 
hard enough to cut my tongue.
I let the splinters rake their penance
against my frenulum for months.

Still, it won't change the trajectory,
not all at once—nothing does.

Ivan Irritated Aunt Hex

Irritating Ivan liked to irk and vex
Especially irritating our Great Aunt Hex
Ignore him said her husband, laid-back uncle Dex
Not knowing that Ivan was Aunt Hex’s ex

It Rhymes

Nun One to thee,
Hilarious, you see,
Faith and literacy,
Plus fantasies,
Hex One, pink lace,
Inertia and grace,
Is it Vatican hour,
With our chick power?

Hex Sows Well

lizards are here 
lizard's take a look out
lizard's in your ear
never heard them probably never will

Dim Hex Give Or Take

GIVE & TAKE
Fascination held
in passion's grip
may kindle
one-track
mind's

Captivation held
in ardour's grasp
will secrete
selfless
love.

Duplex With a Hex

Witch cousins crammed into the tiny duplex.
Packed in so tightly, that no one could flex.
Warlocks were mad now, couldn’t work on their pecs.
Party spilled over onto noisy neighbor’s upper deck.

Neighbor strained to take pix, injuring her neck.
Gawkers I cars had a horrible three-pile-wreck.
Landlord made witch cousins write him a big check.
They painted his car with psychedelic paint fleck.

Dim Hex a Variation

Fascination held
in passion's grip
may kindle
one-track
mind's
Captivation held
in ardour's grasp
will secrete
selfless
love.

Hex

i've been
writing like
i've been
possessed

my goal
isn't money
my goal
isn't success

but i know
that my world
would unfold if
i were told you no

longer trode
upon it's soil
or to allow
mud to come

between your
toes or your
nose never
to steal a

sniff off of
a newly
bloom
ing

flower

but i will
always
write
of

you and
always
about
you

so dance your fairy
dance around a ring
of mushrooms that
only come out at

night
and so
showing
me the door

that will
take me to
the king of the
wee folk or lore but

he can
no more
do what he
didn't do the 

midnight before
and so sour 
and sore
from

kneeling in
prayer's form
i beg not to be
asked visage no 

more
to my yes
occipital lobe
as mechanics 

become viewers
and i can see the
Titanic sink below
the waters that she

walks
upon

Halloween Hex

A tourist who came straight from Hell
Stopped for wine along the Moselle
Where the Winningen witch
Caught the son of an itch
And sent him to Hell for a spell . . .

The Hex Mark

Like the beauty hidden beneath the brook
It’s the simple dimples that make me smile
Or is it the drop of a drip 
Off an old black bear’s back 
As he chases the flip flop 
Of a Brook Trout
Or is that the Big Brown
As he marks the beginning of the Hex hatch.

A Hex Sonnetta Poem - Andrea Dietrich

Hex Sonnetta
The Hex Sonnetta, created by Andrea Dietrich, consists of two six-line stanzas and a finishing rhyming couplet with the following set of rules:
Meter: Iambic Trimeter. Rhyme Scheme:  abbaab cddccd ee. Iambic Trimeter means the usual iambic (alternating unstressed/stressed) meter for every line of the poem, but instead of the ten syllables that comprise a typical sonnet’s iambic pentameter, this particular form uses six syllables of iambic trimeter per line, hence the name Hex Sonnetta.

The Hex

My heart is heavy 
For I wonder what’s next
In this world so steady
When you don’t feel the hex

Is it just a game again
I hear you say
And I have lost many friends
Don’t be lost just stay

The hex materialises
And cover won’t help
For it comes in many disguises
So away from you it you should melt.
