The Sons of Korach helped fuel his rebellion
but were they unrepentant hellions
As the earth opened her mouth, they too their hearts
cried out to God for a brand-new start
Too late for that, but God gave them a piece of Eternity
Composers of twelve psalms, King David's paternity
Sages tell us, 'Repent one day before you die'
yet even one moment is worth a silent cry

With shouts of glee, twin hellions fled
across the park while I would tread
behind them. Always it was me
who had responsibility
of them, who acted so ill-bred.
They wouldn’t heed one word I said,
and I would watch them as they sped
on skateboards, weaving recklessly
with shouts of glee.
But then at night, with stories read,
they’d sleep like “princes” in their bed.
And Mom and Dad would both agree
they were so sweet. . . All I could see
were imps who’d wake to cause me dread
with shouts of glee!

*** Soul Song ***
Oh, heart do not weep though your pain is so deep!
Sunlight and happiness are for yours to forever keep.
This world is a crown of thorns, so why do you weep?
Know you not, to God, you will live so heavenly sweet?
That one day, His face you will surely greet?
Into Hades, cheaters and hellions, He shall assuredly throw!
And believers and those good, like you, shall live forever in His
celestial, star-show.

I saw him from my window, late for work again
Hurrying at a frantic pace despite the teeming rain,
Along came the dog walker, his tiny dog not pleased
Trudging through the puddles, some up to it's knees.
There were passengers riding buses just happy to be dry
Smug looks on their faces at the soaking passers by,
I watched the neighbours children who think the rain's a hoot
Charging around like hellions, in shiny welly boots.
And so it poured all morning, ne'er a break was had
Surely there was only ducks had reason to be glad,
When it finally eased the world it seemed stood still
Refreshed by the cleansing rain, but all had had their fill.
On my fence a row of sparrows, bedraggled one and all
Eyes half shut in protest at their drenching in the squall,
Then came a gift, a rainbow graced the sky
Life played out before me, as the morning passed on by.

the grim reaper is not our enemy
he is liberator of souls
slayer of gravity
bushwhacking paths to
heaven and hell
not a racist never prejudice
everybody treated equally
can any of us say the same
he's consistent-persistent
ambitious -timeless
tireless
can any say they have such virtues
he tramples both
young and old
virgin and whore
the clean and wicked minded
day time or middle of night rider
soloist Armageddon-
blacksmith
pounding death into
angels and hellions

Fasting,
holding steadfast from it,
that big thing
that calls itself "should,"
feeding the spirit,
vacating the playground
where the riotous children of wild thoughts play,
those unruly hellions that break sound barriers
with their echoing rants of
"Do!"
"Be like us!"
I'm riding on the smooth back of a silky terrain
that lies only within,
where those children are banned just for today.

hellions, how i feel,

Hurricane Harvey landed his punches to the left of me
Irma struck with fierce winds and rain; havoc on my right
I escaped the wrath of those hellions ~ now there's Nate.
Nate formed in an unusual area, not known for brutal storms,
but he's coming for a visit soon. I hope he doesn't stay around
very long. I didn't invite him to my city, so he's being rude
by showing up this weekend and ruining everyone's plans.
I pray he's not as devastating as the evil two he follows,
but hurricanes do as they please. Wham! Bam! What a mess...
putting us all under stress.
He'll huff and puff and try to blow my house down.
He seems to be in a hurry cuz he's moving with some speed.
I'll be glad to see the tail end of him. A one-eyed cyclops,
a meanie and a fiend, who'll probably rob me of my power.
If you don't see me around, you know where I can be found...
sweltering in New Orleans heat because Nate visited my town.

He found me in a dream serene,
then I found her in a stupor.
LATE! I realized for the first scene,
ineffective tense tired tutor.
Wampanoag's dismay on fierce face,
on her’s pale, nothing but despair.
Knew I was doomed in any case,
me; I wish I could disappear…
My wardrobe gray, black and a frown,
I walk with slouch instead of proud.
Place spiraling on its way down,
my soul's lost in this crazy crowd.
Immature arrogant revolt,
devoted defenders hold line.
They “got things figured out” — but don’t..,
mayhem for fun’s sake a past time.
Hellions running wild the prison,
bitterness taste - lemon pucker.
Hierarchy ears deaf, won’t listen,
moment of truth taste for sucker.
It’s a sorry state of affairs,
a sad society we live.
We won’t survive if unawares,
civility bleeding through sieve.

The union of hellions and the hallowed
In an effort to further each of their unique and twisted agendas
Gives forth the notion that equality must be dictated
In an effort to promote the rank and file
Mediocrity is rewarded
There is no distinction made between the competent and the indolent
Without acknowledgment, excellence ceases to flourish and is crushed
The weak are raised and multiply as the strong wither and fail under the growing pressure of ignorance
Nothing of value is achieved without excellence
Progress is replaced with stagnation and eventually decay
Society stumbles and civilization falls back into the chaotic abyss
It was once lifted from.

Hooked through the heart by a homicidal honey
Stung like a bee from a mind full of menace
A dangerous diamond in the midst of dust devils
In the middle of a minefield she calls me to come
Risking life, love, and limb...living only for lust
Harsh lesson in life
Distance never making a difference
Gone like a ghost...the ignorance of innocence
Like an alien lost in an angry land
Hunted by hellions with hate in their hands
All alone and alienated
Jackrabbits and junkyard jokers...annihilate and ace them
Eliminate and erase...but the beasts all look like beauties
Soon captured and caged by that corruptible coochie
Enticed at the entrance...endless eyes glow with glee
For me there is no exit or escape
Seduced and made senseless
Gone like a ghost...the ignorance of innocence
My lover is a liar...her lies are so lyrical
Lost in her labrynth on the south side of spiritual
Her heat is habitual
I'm a junkie in her jail
Committing her crimes and paying her penance
I spread wings to fly but get fried on her electrified fence
Gone like a ghost...the ignorance of innocence

There's a hole in my heart and it leads straight to Hell
I miss you
I kiss you
I'm a slave to your spells
Once lost and lonely in a desert of dreams
You wrapped me in love and silenced my screams
From dusk until dawn
From night until day
Heaven sent me angel to rescue me
You're a beautiful bird of rarest raw feathers
Never changing your ways like the wind and the weather
Calculating and clever with charisma and charm
Demolishing my walls and disarming my alarms
You pulled me up out of shallow suicide streams
Heaven sent me an angel to rescue me
In a garden of evil on streets of seduction
Harlots and hellions stay bent on righteous reduction
Their tongues wrap around me like snakes on life trees
You burn them to a crisp with holy fire from above
And just like a dove...You open the cage and set my soul free
Heaven sent me an angel to rescue me

Gods power and might is both fierce and frightening
Like action follows thought and thunder follows lightning
Through raging bulls and triggers pulled
Weak ones fall and fools get fooled
Rising up like the sun now the prophets all play
I call upon the lord
I'm bringing God to the game
Ruthless rulers bring serpent stings
Waging black death wars upon wicked wings
Sending barbaric beasts to bloody battlefields
Where fears turn to fire and fates get sealed
With blood on their boots and bullets in their brains
I call upon the lord
I'm bringing God to the game
From thrones of terror their tyranny thrives
Their madness it grows and it multiplies
Those dragons of destruction...they do the devils deal
Making the wrong seem right
Making the false seem real
Feasting on fear they burn and they bake
I call upon the lord
I'm bringing God to the game
Like gladiators and giant slayers
Smashing and slashing those hellions and haters
For to live is Christ and to die is gain
I call upon the lord
I'm bringing God to the game

Lucifers lies...I believed in a billion
That sad sin of pride turned heroes into hellions
I fell with mad millions on that destiny day
Now I can't fly to Heaven on a pair of wicked wings
I wonder this world like a villain seeking victims
I bring darkness to the light
Free ones I put in prison
Evil visions...I place them all in monsters minds
I watch them unravel and I watch them unwind
But I barely scratch the surface because Hell's beneath my feet
No,I cant fly to Heaven on a pair of wicked wings
I look and I listen I watch and I wait
Still I know that I'm wrong
I know it's much too late
I sing sorrowful songs at Heavens gate
Then I'm thrown into the abyss far from Gods great galaxy
No,I can't fly to Heaven on a pair of wicked wings

She has a brain full of legends.
She has a whole heart full of legends.
Shaped by summer’s yellow collar bones
She caresses a sepia hued image to her breast
And recites memories in her sleep.
Legalistic hellions
Stalk her sharp scent,
And legalistic hellions
Seek to kidnap her ,
And legalistic hellions
Cry illustrious hymns along canyons
Speaking amongst themselves
Into the jagged patterns fashioned by
Her legends.
And the sepia hued image, frozen
Insinuates that her legends were honest legends.
She knows they were never born of classic fiction at all,
But that they had been fostered by her own life.
The sepia hued image lies lifeless
During a subtle, summer evening
Reciting memories.

and God said, "LET THERE BE LIGHT"...putting an end to that neverending night
He's guiding my steps and guarding my flight...safe,sane,and secure...
living in the light
in the land of the living or the dwelling of the dead...reserrected and risen from a shallow grave of sin
i get struck by His lightning and washed in His rain...while wickedness winds down a
supernatural drain
bearing His armor...i long for the fight...
living in the light
through snares, traps, and webs, and bottomless holes...with His holy power i ride and i roll
He gives me the keys to heaven and hell...doomed and defeated is the devils dark spell
from the east to the west...as the day turns into night...enemies fall from the sky...
living in the light
i've traded the sadistic for the sublime
i've traded the demonic for the divine
walking by faith and kicking down those triple locked doors
cowards run and hellions hide...once dead in my sin but now i'm alive...
living in the light
