Haven

The inferno cast by a sinful moon
Rises in the red breath of winter,
In neon flames and flares.
Faceless
 Whimpering
In splinters of bare bone
Howling into grimacing spectrals
Deaf to the labor of compassion
The agony of maples turning scarlet
  The sound of birthing stars.

In the debris of green apple afternoons
When tongues of flame
Speak the thesaurus
 Of sanctity
Shards of purple glaciers tremble
Chastised
 Chastened
By labors of the amber dawns,
As hallowed sweetness
 Falls upon the thirsting tongue.

Then, in this arbor, beneath amazing wings,
Joy reclaims crystal blooms of grace.

How lustrous the first of morning
When my river spreads her brocade
Laced tassels weave through daylight's ring--
As she swivels on dappled qlade:
While midstream, tree tops decorate
This harbor lined with tulips red;
In vivid inlays quite ornate
Till birdsong explodes... overhead.
Imbued by some godly delight
My bouyant musings shine aloft--
That l, in gentle hum of night
Lay half- awake ... on grasses, soft.

Beguiled by waves streaming freely,
Her wisp of haven breathes in me.

I miss the haven of my youth long past
when melancholy melted in the mirth
of sharing time with siblings. What a blast
we used to have. No memories are worth
as much as those when life was still carefree.
If there were worries, they were shouldered by
two parents who looked after family
and did their best to make sure to supply
their kids with the necessities to thrive.
We were not rich, but we were clothed and fed,
and from our parents, we learned how to strive
to meet our goals in future lives we led.
No home is perfect, but I can be glad
as havens go, a great one I sure had!

"There is nothing either good or bad, but thinking makes it so." ~ Shakespeare, from Hamlet

Demons and monsters, from woodwork, teeming -
tenacious beasts, attack with insistence.
In desperation, it's sadly seeming
they will forever plague my existence.

If I could find a safe sanctuary,
a place to unwind in comfort and peace,
I'd click heels for a godmother fairy,
that my suffering would finally cease.

Yet, perhaps, in a place within my head,
devils are created and amplified,
and the remedy that I need instead -
a new perspective that I've not yet tried.

My mind, no horror chamber and no hell
will be a haven and a home to dwell.

The loons haunt the sunset
Whispered warning in the darkness
Alert the fawn as it slowly sips

A last golden arrow
Pierces the edges of nightfall
Tiptoes across the silent lake

Each ripple an unseen presence
Both prey and predator
Searching for each other

The moon square dances
With its prancing shadows
Changing partners on the wind

The stars hold their applause

Home Sweet home was our most safe haven,
Only shelter when I was just a kid and minor.
Mom-Dad were there to bear each responsibility
Enjoyed with my siblings at every step of childhood.

Simple pleasures, simple disputes awoke in our home.
Wonderful sharing of sister of my heart to take care.
Excited days settled at night with worry-less sound sleep
Events occurred in sorrow or gay, but to assure,
Top secret of entire peace lay in our sweet home.

Home Sweet Home is now my holy sacred heaven.
On love and care I have erected my home as ideal one.
Mind gets real relief in each distress, dismay and agony
Enchanted days settle at night in perfect profound peace.

What a picturesque panorama this is.
My eyes peer into the beautiful landscape
Of my vast, vivid imagination...
It is such a wondrous escape!

Funny, serendipitously finding you here
In this Shangri-La, patiently waiting for me.
Believe me, there is no place
On this earth I'd rather be!

Here we are, blissfully walking among
A serene golden field without a fuss,
As the unstable world crumbles
              Like Gibraltar all around us.

What an adventure! It's a sheer thrill
Getting away from it all with you
We'll chase butterflies to our heart's content,
Misspend our time taking in the view.

In this haven of peace and tranquility,
We'll repeatedly sojourn; it's our royal domain,
A welcoming, breathtaking getaway
To come back to again and again.

Haven

In labyrinthine longing,
where my weary spirit
roams,
I seek an effervescent
haven to call my home.
A luminescent refuge where
the anxious heart finds rest,
Where benediction
whisper and the soul is truly
blessed.

Amidst the cacophonous
clamor of this transient
world,
Your peace, oh Lord, is an
opalescent banner unfurled.
A paradisiacal sanctuary,
inviolable and true,
Where tribulations dissipate
in the cerulean blue.

So let me be transfigured in
this hallowed, holy place,
A resplendent
convalescence wrapped in,
Your abounding grace.

My home, lull amidst balm, solace in rural dwelling,
escape from rampant load and skewed burden in towns,
close knit family loiter with passions swelling,
wistful hindsights swoon oe’r sumptuous tree top crowns,
I extol mint leaf purlieus, tranquil garland phase,
in course sentient, where friction, discord, worry,
is banished at the whiff of an ambrosial haze,
prismatic hues, those scenic views soothe when in a hurry,
seconds taciturn as the peep day sunrise looms,
to linger in silence yet caress the spring omen,
purple clouds tint cocooning garden blooms,
In artic winter, tranquil spot engulfs twin snowmen,
time counts for little when under bright shelter’s spell,
relief from futile rigours found behind green hedge,
sweet chirp from red crest bird cordons off this shell,
mine to cling to and seek refuge when life is on edge,
fresh fruit one munches in orchard dribbles down chin,
to pluck mushy berries from sprawling brambles,
and inhale scented gust with a surreal grin,
heaven in a haven, sweet home from madcap scrambles

Safe in each other's arms lies our compass
a gifted direction of serenity in the evening
when your smile is a flesh tone canvas
that points to the stress that is leaving

our sanctuary in twilight is a calming delight
where we cast all of the day's troubles aside
welcome the soft grandness of love's gentle light
to this cause our hearts will always abide

no walls to build where emotions can hide
in this realm of purity, our safe haven
to these quiet moments our contentment is tied
so, this refuge of love is never shaken

we share the tenderness of our compassion
to lie still and silent in our love's armor
we are one another's home and companion
where our heart is a safe and welcomed harbor

Very often,
There was this place by the sea.
Although unhidden,
It was a perfect spot for me.

My great getaway,
A quiet place at the end of the day.
My hiding place.
It Sheilded me from the speedy race.

My sanctuary.
Secluded, causing a cease from hurry.
My haven.
There, the heart rests and preps for heaven.

My steal away.
It birthed a memory.
It declared war against worry.
My haven by the sea; My forever story.

By Poet.... "Haven hide me safe and sound. Far away from this cruel world. Give me peace of mind and body."

The story of my haven,
as I ran from the huge raven.
Was I living in a cave-in?
Life's pictures have been hung with a cloth pin.
The huge raven represents life,
the cave-in represents midlife.
Where did life go?
Time had no flow,
no more glow.
All the time I was low,
I just wanted to live and to grow.
Hiding in my safe haven covered with snow,
I now watch TV and a new game show.

Her haven wasn’t grand or wide;
no sweeping place to run or hide.
It lived in smaller things she kept~
a teacup where the morning slept,
a folded napkin, soft with wear,
a breath she balanced in the air.

She found her refuge in the pause
between two sentences—because
that quiet space, so slight, so thin,
let calm collect and settle in.
A spoon against a porcelain rim
became a steadying hymn for her,
a sound that asked her heart to stay
a moment more before the day.

Her haven wasn’t built to last
or hold the weight of shadows cast.
It simply offered gentle ground,
grace in tiny places she had found~
the ones that ask for nothing new,
yet give her back a clearer view.

No grand escape, no sweeping plan~
just smallness doing what it can.
A haven shaped by quiet art,
no larger than a beating heart.
