Me, a harness horse called a cob
For long I worked when in a job,
Fending from boss his o’er-head lob,
Retired, I find it tough
Not getting a day off
From new boss-- no more a door knob,
Demanding: better learn
Your daily bread to earn,
She, chasing, stern, my peace to rob.
‘Las, too late to regret
For having lost the bet,
Me, a harness horse called a cob.

Age of Staggered Man
This Age of Staggered Man
Needs a timely thought
The Invincible Destiny is hovering over head
Why the youth is being wasted
O'er things which are dead?
The invisible burden over the shoulders
Of this feeble 'hollow man' of Eliot
Is too tremendous to tread
Steadily on the Treacherous Terrain
Would all the thinking go in vain?
The heart of a

To Harness the Wind
I rode the emotion like a horse
until the shoes fell off one by one
Leaving me silent and alone
A horseless prophet on the raging sands
—desperately trying to harness the wind

Putting On Harness
Standing tall and proud as Punch, Albert, my Suffolk, softens to receive his collar.
I lift the hames across his back,
throw over pad and traces, belts and chains,
while he stands like a scholar.
He has a generosity of spirit that shames me, his human confederate.
I buckle up the straps
and clip the breast and belly rigs,
as in my

Harness Racing
Harness Racing ( Poem )
Horses pull a two wheeled cart
If it breaks you will depart
Place a bet before it starts
Good wager wins if played smart
Riders ready at the gate
Fans no longer have to wait
Athlete sport with high speed
Is a skill you surely need
At times a horse can fall down
Sad to see that come around
Last turn

To Harness His Maiden's Love
His Lordship built an Ivory fence
to harness all his maiden's love
for his earnest desire to wear her
was as an elegant fitting glove
yet, no part of it did she yearn,
so she stepped upon a rock
and caused him sudden shock
she looked at him; he looked her
she closed her fist then gave him a sock
then she leaned
