How can a day start off normal
With the mundane usual things,
Almost predictable, daily tasks and trips
Life's general happenings?
Then someone you love hugs you goodbye,
"I'll see you soon my dears..."
How much longer would we have held that embrace
If we knew it was the last for years?
The last time they told you how tired they were,
Would you have found a new way to convey
Your sympathy and care, not just rubbing their back
And saying you're sorry they felt this way?
When you're taught that we know not
What tomorrow will bring and our life is but a mist,
You don't imagine a light on a life will go out
So sudden. So quick! So greatly missed!
Naively we expect a warning or sign
That our special loved one will go.
And those left behind would prepare heart and mind
For the grief, pain and sorrow to follow.
But that day began like many before.
Yet a hard hitting truth we would learn.
One day we each will walk through a door
And sadly, we will not return.

If you like Keanu, you’ll love The Replacements
‘bout an ex-football player who's into effacement.
Called back to the big time when A-listers strike,
it’s got some great scenes that I know you will like.
I won’t spoil the story, but the cheerleading’s hot;
QB Falco’s the real deal, and Martel is not.
Wiry Nigel the kicker will have you enthralled,
as will Bateman when coach says, “Go get me the ball!
There isn’t much action if you hoped for a gun,
just some hard-hitting football and 2 hours of fun.

When I lay anguished with all my muscles aching
And my mind plunging into the eddies of grief,
Poetry came to me as an unexpected guest, as a whiff of breeze.
It was like spotting an oasis in the sterility of a blistering desert.
What scope poetry provided me, soon I happily discerned.
It decorated my emotions with personalized symbols.
Images varied came dancing to my great surprise.
Music arrived soothing to embellish, energize and overwhelm.
Then my chest heavy with melancholic thoughts
Opened to layers and layers of positive thoughts,
Transcending the bounds of hard-hitting realities.
My eyes opened to the charm of nature conjuring up celestial images,
And I started versifying every thought n’ scene in rhythmic notes.
.
Never more the surging tears flowed out from my eyes.
My rampaging despair got vaporized, making a hasty retreat,
Like an enemy vanquished and its bugle falling silent.
Poetry, turn not your face on me, fill me with rhyme!
Had it not been for you and your mesmerizing charms,
I could never have broken free of the fetters,
That chained my captive, melancholy-stricken heart.

Should we wake,
with miles to separate,
memories erased
I know I’d take
all steps to demonstrate
a love deeply based
Wholly on finding you
Only on returning to my one true.
As we swim through life
Bustling with its demons, pains, and strife,
With all the forces that would keep us apart,
I’ll follow always to the end to find my heart.
When the universe is splitting,
Tearing at its seams,
And it seems only fitting
To fill the air with screams.
You’ll never find me quitting,
Only going to extremes
To get through struggles hard hitting
And reunite with the girl of my dreams.
Should I find myself stolen away,
And in need of fighting through a fray,
I’ll look for you, my perfect forgotten, day after day.
I’ll use all the time on a path to you and never stray.
Time folds in on itself, bends back, flows through, it’s just the way
And I’d never forgive myself if I didn’t track til me and you becomes they.
Perhaps there is much I don’t know, maybe.
But always, only, ever do I love you. Jeremy Bearimy, baby.

Soon, it got up to Dr. Spencer
Burning incense on coppery censer
In pursuit of a fitting answer
To the craziest hard hitting cancer:
A line he’d toed for an ulcer
And it result gave him for Gastric Seltzer…
Krishna clouds their way making for a breast,
Not for once letting be the crest,
Incense one, Incense two, up to eleven
In lieu of healing verses to The Heaven.
For a doctor openly radical
It shouldn’t often be the medical
Nor often needful the rightly surgical,
For cancer that could shame the methodical.

Reflections on Windows
Conversations with depth
Well defined shadows
Sunset silhouettes
Tangible textures
At the core of my home
Reward for my efforts
Time spent alone
Flying on planes
Unfamiliar faces
No need to explain
How crucial my space is
A crisp hotel bed
In a place, far away
Time, in my head
Before words I say
Unique ways of living
To excite a routine
The feeling of winning
Support from a team
A life I can trust
No, hard hitting twists
Events, pre-discussed
Checking off lists
A mild, solo stroll
Beneath leaves, falling
To pamper my soul
And ponder my calling

You're not a coward
having shown a great lack of intelligence
or common sense within arrogance towards another opinion
For that which matters deeply disturbed blocked out
hard hitting truth in evidence reads between the lines,
Micky mouse can clearly see the victim trapped
pushing false agendas that promote hate
Inside the visible truth we can see lost
closed doors behind the veil a bully in words
to speak correctly toned casting names of judgement
condemning wisdom hitting a brick wall
chained prisoner of deception
Killing every fact as if tortured behind the mask
attacking victims whom are silent ghosts
Violence towards another being is the code you live by
its easier to eat humble pie and admit defeat
there is no getting through and saving these souls
Brainwashed against the word of God
what can you say about that which matters

I dreamt about my ex last night
what she meant no sex in mind
I never thought about our life
left it flat behind no rewind
It felt as though she didn’t care
as our time went on together
that is why I left it there
no looking back whatever
Once I was so very smitten
on my mind and my whole life
guess what makes it hard hitting
one time wanted her my wife
I ended it and walked away
after damage of her making
no thought to ever stay
no question if mistaken
In my dream she failed to satisfy
just as she did in life
went from an interest in my eye
to only pain and strife
How could she make me happy
to walk away and numb
I guess that's the way love be
it starts and then it’s done.

I have nothing to lose, by submitting.
My poems aren't perfect, I'm admitting.
A crime of bad rhymes, I'm committing.
A disease of word misuse, I'm transmitting.
I try to be hard-hitting, but my diction is unfitting.
There are times I feel like quitting,
Then a gem is born, after some diligent editing.

Volcanic Myth
Hard hitting hammer
sparking pyroplastic flows.
Blowing bellows stoke
billowing pillars of fire.
Ash and cinders, remains
of dying white hot coals
pushed violently skyward
cover all in a drab gray.
The earth trembles and shakes
as mighty Vulcan grunts
with each swing of his
muscular arm.
Fiery jets of flame
spew from his pot
as he anneals iron
in the bubbling cauldron.
As he works, torrents
of sweat flow in to the
fire, hissing and steaming
clouds of vapor vented to the sky.
When he tires, or the last
iron has been cast. The fires
are banked and temblors
cease.
Mighty Vulcan rests for
now. Waiting for the next
call from the Gods. Waiting to
vent his wrath once more.

Truth hit 'em in the ears,
blow by blow
A hard right cross to the temple
had the lying snot flying out the nose
It was hard-hitting truth
that gave 'em the bloody eye
Sent 'em reeling to the mat
for the TKO bye-bye
Lying prone on the canvas,
the count is coming in ...
seems this fight is over fairly quick
Undisputed truth wins again

One may easily
Criticize against another;
And say something sour
Even to a new stranger.
Severe sentence
May he judge at first glance;
Many mistakes he sees,
Attacking at any given chance.
Wise man says
Some sort of a reminder;
Though nobody's perfect,
Judge not the book by its cover.
Before you state
Something on the air;
Better think not only twice
But ten times over.
Don't be too proud
To stand taller and bigger;
Nor say that you know everything,
Instead, think others as wiser.
Hard-hitting declaration
Turns lamb into a tiger;
While soft-spoken opinion
Cools down the fire of anger.
Positive praises
Mirror man's meekness;
Negative notes and critical comments
Make him dumb and speechless.
Speak easing expression
With truth and honesty;
Smile and fondly say
A sweet statement with sincerity.

Fugitive senses converge to disrobe snow blindness so bright
Though fluffy and soft in the air
Hard hitting the ground, beauty in opposites ignite
