The Whiskey Taster’s Flavor Guide

Tasting 2020

the year of the rat

alert spirited and delicate

a fortune cooky roasted

chaotic recipe

        pandemic ingredients

trivia at dead ends

        virulent revival

fertile breeding ground

	imposing novel cuisine

world order fermenting

exposed self-importance

	blaming the messenger

abdication by natural force

	coronation by default

Pierre Rodin looks at the rodents

counts teeth marks and droppings

a sculpture sold at Wuhan market

next to dragons’ hard hitting fire

only four more years and we shall know

who survives contagious thorn crowns

wreathed graves may remember the day

when everything changed and utopia began ...

This is amazing poetry Michael - you are truly a deep thinker and love this poem that you have so poetically weaved between the corona virus and life on our planet earth - everything I believe will change and utopia will begin. Blessings, Jennifer.
