Augury

Embers of prophecy rise
In the haunting omens of owls
Divining tea leaves
Heralds speak future through opaque signs
And signals of frantic dogs
Before earth heaves in shock of slip strikes
Or the coming of rainbows
Born from sun and blackness.

Gossamer angels bend over vanishing logic,
Brooding envoys of dark horses
In clouds of fireflies or heresies,
Burned at the stake of mineral, mist or ice.

Messenger, from the mystical, utters the unseen,
The face of mute words, allegories in shrouds
Calling to fabled grails, emerge from mystery.

Heraldic voice stands outside algorithms
Wears a clear cloak named vision or terror
A visage drifting through past or dawn
In images without bones,
Unshakable the slow creeping spice
Built on shape shifting tides
Like mist from cloud castles
Before seeking birth in the hands
Of reality’s fiction.

Starlit Memories

“…recently scenes of early life have stolen into my mind like breezes blown…”
Samuel Coleridge

Midnight reveries tickle my memories
When I see bright asterisms ascend
Through rivers of stars summers past I see

Constellations retell their starry legends,
Storied tales of fantasy in starlight,
I search the sky for my celestial friends

Lying in grassy fields on warm summer nights
Spellbound eyes saw the sparkling stars at play
My imagination soared with the eagle’s flight

Upon the evening star a wish I prayed,
A plea for peace on fiery comet tails,
Dreams star dusted in the Milky Way

In childhood innocence, wonder prevailed
On astral magic winds like hidden grails

Premium MemberParallax Truths

You heed what’s preached, I observe beyond the pale
We play cat and mouse, searching out our holy grails

I see blackness and stars, with no end in sight
You discern an inner sanctum, and eternal light

Each of us ponder hard, unwavering in finding truth
Yours a god of creation, mine the square of all roots

We both seek similar answers, the meaning of life
Can either of us be nearer, in a world full of strife

What matters in the end, is tolerance of opposing views
If one line of vision’s blocked, then everyone shall lose

Amor Fati

That you are,
In the shades of a bulwark
Twilit by weakness when I demur,
You’re that (!) – Amor fati,
In the refusal of capriciousness,
As I create what I create.
I’m your pain,
And your redeemer,
Whether I strike in an impulse,
Or in delight, - you feel!
And you feel when I bog in your heart,
Or nuances of your soul’s verdure,
As my temple - is my will.
Your Amfortas, your Sandman,
A supreme spirit of Eros mystified,
Beneath time! Above incarnations,
As confessional, candid and kind,
You shed, I tear, you feel, I bear!
Both entering into the crossover
In a pentameter metaphor,
So it says; …and therefore
I knelt before your innocence and virtue,
A latecomer decorated in fragments,
A survivor of a cheering ballad…
Poignant and triumphant,
Alive, alive! No horns, or grails of fatality,
No death in stanzas, just a wish to end up
In a singularity. Then we are complete
In nothingness only clairvoyance could offer,
In prodigal manifestations of healthy humour,
Without deviations and slander judgments.
And all for a good measure of benign sense,
Even though a possessed “far and beyond”
Wonder, today, readily retires in silence.

Dented Cans

DENTED CANS

At first pristine in form and colour bright
They glittered in the clear warm air of youth
With dreams and goals attainable in our sight
Then framed in words unstrained by filtered truth

To have, to do, to be, without a question
With faith that what’s imagined may gain life
Those holy grails of dreams beyond suggestion
Before opposing forces entered strife

Then caution tempered will and brought delay
And we withdrew the life we had bestowed
On plans we’d made, they took on aspect grey
Were lost from view as cans kicked down the road

Could we unseal those dented vessels’ seams
And then revive their long forgotten dreams

Villanelle: Hoist not the flag of your hidden vices

Hoist not the flag of your hidden vices
Wonder not why enemies pick on entrails
No foe will salute nor sing your praises

You cannot make curry without spices
Worst not enemies with cat o' nine tails
Hoist not the flag of your hidden vices

Enemies crop up as you throw dices
They hide in pockets and wear long tails
No foe will salute nor sing your praises

They even sport horns to cuckold spouses
Call you names while you look for holy grails
Hoist not the flag of your hidden vices

Enemies revel not in open spaces
Splice them only in their hidden entrails
No foe will salute nor sing your praises

Best enemies wallow in pungent sauces
Flapping from naked flag-poles stuck in jails
Hoist not the flag of your hidden vices
No foe will salute nor sing your praises

The Proud Aurora

Let larking bliss on zephyr wings descend
And meadows fill with gleeful mirth and song;
The proud aurora’s sparkle then amend
With daisies spread in an ambrosial throng.
The cheerful gods pour nectar into grails,
And the Elysian Fields unveil their trails.

Not made by inner storms in wet lament,
Nor wrung in waning light at lonely hours,
But dressed in asters and with lilac blent,
Alluring hungry bees to laden flowers:
In such attire was passion brightly born,
Swathed full in beams of love and never lorn.

The fragrant bed where bashful muses lie
To lose the world, forget and softly doze
Away for hours is yet the same place I
Stole your first kiss and gave you a red rose.
I judged the bow of Cupid too benign
Before I won your heart and you had mine.

Half My Life, My Wife

Rare, essential expensive minerals embedded deep down in the core of 3
dimensional mountains, silver owls, platinum falcons, waterfalls-n-streams,
poisonous leaves tufa fermented into stream, a tongue less unfrozen tundra
evaporated from hunger, copper chocolate-n-brass coconut cream from
copper-n-brass coconut trees, pink roses, white butterflies-n-orange bumble
bees, islands, oceans,-n-seas, a voluptuous life mix with the briskness of a
Saint Lucia breeze, onyx-n-rubies inhale the panache of centipedes,
outlandishly eating at my vanity, grails of golden milk, the riches of snail-n-
spider silk, colorful canopies draped over killer Brahma bulls exhaling my
sanity, I allowed this earth to breathe, you see lightening only when the
Heaven’s are allowed to sneeze, ain't a moon, earth, sun, or galaxy worth
more than me or worth more than she, priceless my wife-n-me, I bow down 2
my missing rib, for my wife’s worth more than me, ain’t a mineral in this earth
worth more 2 me than she, priceless my she, my better me.

In Retrospect

Formed by mist that grasses adore
Reveries young coat the sky
Mixing life with energized core
Kodak of faces streaking by
-
I collect vignettes from a rushed earth
Filling cups of grails many by one
With these journeys since my birth
In rainstorms and summers rerun
-
To recall how wife and I debate
Only to clutch her in tight embrace
But time steals joy, not a dot late
With broken chain, I can't keep pace.

The Fine Winery

Overgrown by grapes
Gods’ garden fine winery
Mortals in rags toil

Overgrown by grapes
Gods’ garden fine winery
Brimful gilded grails

Overgrown by grapes
Gods’ garden fine winery
High angels crash down
