Hand Gloves

The winter fatty hand gloves are 
helpless to 
stop inhaling the 
bits of 
fluff and 
my pills my 
doctor gave me on 
the 
bedroom carpet.

A warm pair of gloves

They do their job well 
protect your hands from danger 
keep hands warm at night

I’m busy now spring cleaning my heart,
the temperate season has broken;
Ready to melt the past’s bleak blizzard,
let my soul be a fancied flower;

Pink Champagne and Satin Opera Gloves

As wild as unbridled seas,
soft as mist, a spindrift tease. 
Night stars swoon and fall from skies; 
constellations fill her eyes. 
Every leaf stirs in her wake, 
bottom to top, mountains quake.
Beaux like grapes bunch on her vine, 
blood in veins she turns to wine.
Kisses sipped, her cherry lips.

Keep thy enemies close
befriend the smiling banshees
holding their cowboy guns

such beings in love with love
all’s fair in love and war
dripping honeyed lines

for greenants to walk along

truth be known they’ll be 
back in the ring 
before too long 

kissing windy cheeks
shaking hands 
with razors in their gloves

Kid Gloves

Of what use are gloves to a newly-born child
Whose fingers just long to break free
Or sonnets by Shakespeare to infants at school
Just starting to learn ABC?
And why give a castaway banished for life
A casket of jewels and gold
Or offer an ice-cream to folk on the street
Who've spent the night out in the cold?
For all things

What Use Is Gloves To the Fingers

Oh my as my
fingers cry.
It frosty and cold
Why?
I need gloves
What's that you say?
The foot to the hand.
 Well it like socks
to the foot. 
Gloves keep your
One two three 
four five fingers warm.
Gloves come in all colors and sizes.
I think I understand 
says the foot
to the hand.
We both have 
jobs to do.
Protect even scarfs
around the neck.

GLOVES and MITTENS 


            Boxers love mittens
             to hit always, not seldom
             as paws of kitten .
   

On Gloves and Mittens

Gloves keep one's fingers and hands clean and hazard-free,
Mittens do the same too; both are good; all agree;
The difference looks petty betwixt these; great, yet,
One is more flexible; the other is more set...!

Those used gloves might not like mittens this is a truth.
And vice versa is those who used mittens in youth,
Those in gloves use

A Boy With Gloves

The child’s mother hands him a pair of gloves
and helps him to insert his fingers.
Grimacing, he misses mittens!
Pulling off the gloves, he puts
each hand in a pocket.
Fingers move warmly
together – snug
and glad now.
The boy 
smiles.

When I Threw the Unhandy Gloves Away

When I threw the wee unhandy gloves away, 
The smiling little cold hands watched the display,
And the clock struck ‘high five’ and chimed ‘hooray’ 

Putting gloves on small hands can cause much dismay,
No more small fingers to get stuck or go astray,
