Premium MemberA Sense of Belonging

"Romantic lovers require from each other at least the facade
of reason: The desire to be what romantic love makes us
appear in the other's eyes. We want to imagine we are
deserving of the love we inspire." ~Maggie Gallagher

We've been slow dancing—
    romancing in a seductive prelude
Wooed by the cravings in our eyes
    hypnotized in amorous flirt
 Asserting glances sparked by embers
    remembrances of a burning fire

Desire— the remnants of heated passion
    Fashioned whispers, calling our names
claiming our hearts to beat as one
    none has requited or sated

Abated our harvest of love yet to reap
Deep and lonely had been our nights
Blighted from cold and empty arms
Palm to palm we feast on each other
smothered by longing— a sense of belonging

Liam and Noel Gallagher

Talk of an Oasis feud is over,
Brit-pop the corks for the supernova,
fair play to those Burnage boys,
tour dates set to make some noise,
they'll walk in sunshine, champagne and clover.

Gallagher, likewise in the front row. Green
melon astringent holds bodily form. Flesh
seems harmless lying on the butcher’s table.
Rank and file juiced up for the battle. “Wizard-
of-Odd” holds high, like Thor, his “Sledge-O-Matic.”

Premium MemberTale of the Gallaghers

weird Gallagher couple was so intertwined, my dear friends
we could not tell where one started or the other one ends.
their faces were entangled, their freckles and noses in a blur.
to distinguish who is who, a nuclear bomb would have had to occur.

Premium MemberWaiting For My Lady

My lady sits at the water front alone, pondering her day.
I sit on my steed, guarding her counsel, in every way.
Across the water is the town where her subjects live.
I am one of them, they call me Sir Gallagher T. Bone Bive.

Puffy undeveloped clouds surround the moon peeking through.
I glance at my lady, wondering if she knows why or who.
We are waiting for, in this creepy watery almost grave.
I would like to get to the pub, but I am her knight, not a knave.

So I sit here patiently, feeling creepy under this sordid sky.
As she looks in the distance, and I have no inkling why.
Is it Sir Larry? Is that who she is waiting for tonight?
I hope not, for I know he went home with my sister, Delight.

Gallagher never expected a heavenly welcome
For he was not religious, nor spiritual.
He thought dead was well,
Dead.

His death was unexpected, he was young,
Invincible, not anywhere near death
Until it came and got him
Two weeks past his twenty-second birthday

A loud angry horn blasted.
His eyes popped awake
In time to see the semi barreling down on his car
It might have been better if he had stayed asleep

He woke up in a field but felt exhausted
So returned to his sleeping place.
Many angels surrounded him but he did not know it
He was unaware

When he was ready, he followed his instincts
Into a wilderness of a forest
There were violets and mushrooms
The smells were heavenly

At the end of the walk someone took his hand
It was Jesus; this amazed him
I never believed, he said.
Yes, you always did, Jesus reminded him.

Until We Got To Oklahoma

so we were cautious
I mean every single time we had to stop to pee
                                                we checked it,
it was good -

and then when we did pull over, we pulled over –

(we had the opportunity pretty much to get a super 8 motel)

we were like, ok we got
	                  this many hours

were gonna get up were gonna shower
and get back in the car by
                                                                         this time

and we. did!

We got up man,
we had to put all our food bins back in,

we showered we got everything
	ya know all the coolers
				downstairs

and it was crazy hot, like a hundred an fifteen degrees
				              with high humidity!

so as soon as we got everything into the car
we were already sweatin’ our butts off -

like ugh just keep goin…

It was a great time
      until we got to Oklahoma,
and then it got to be a straight-up Gallagher adventure from there man.
