Fuzz Poems

I was only four,
running out the kitchen door.
There she was -
a ball of pep -
first sight love, and yep,
her fur like fuzz.

In circles she would run,
for us brothers, fun -
four legs of joy.
We played tug of war,
and whatever more
is needed for a boy?

She was my best friend
until it had to end
in ten years time.
She

Little drummer boy with a rum-tum-dumb
Beat out a melody in ghetto slum
Fuzz drove slowly by
Saw Santa in sky
Consumed donuts as he fell on his bum

My purse is sheer seventies, with sassy swinging fringe.
Cut from flowered leather straps – pink and yellow on white leather.
I feel seventeen when I wear it.
Listen to seventies music – Beach Boys, Beatles, Mama Cass.
I am sassy too, driving over ninety miles an hour now.
Putting the pedal to the metal.
Getting my groove on.
Uh-oh.

It's nine days past the first day of fall
Don't remind me, winter will cause snowballs
Tossed at “The Fuzz”
Eating donuts with love
That's why they're so fat, no, I wasn't under the influence of alcohol

Lil Fuzz Ball

You are my most favorite and
The greatest friend I’ve ever had.
You have never failed at making
Me smile, your cute and silly ways
Always tricking me when you play
Hide and seek and just before I’d freak
Thinking you’d run away from home
Leaving me all alone, you’d
Pop your head out from your
Bed enough for me to see
Your fuzzy head,

I recall when my son went to grow his first mustache.
After the manly thrill, of shaving once a week had passed.

He'd spend an hour in the bath, gelling hair so straight up it would stick.
Then he'd come down to breakfast, strutting his upper lip.

I tried not to laugh, while biting the inside of my cheek.
It

Pink Fuzz

Brain of mushy pink,
Worm curled in my skull,
Morph and stand up
Under the full moon glow!
Don a velvet cloak
Of blood and nerve;
Whisper in my ear
Electric secrets
To splatter on the page,
Until tranquility returns,
When I must mourn once more
The loss of you,
My muse.

Peach Fuzz

Tons of peaches
Growing on every tree
You'd think I'd wash off the fuzz
Nope, not me

One after the other
Juice dripping down my chin
I feel my lips beginning to burn
The swelling begins

Who needs lips stick
When you have lips this luscious and red
Their bigger than Julia Roberts
I'll need a tractor to lift them into bed.
