there’s no true lovers
but just lovers who never change
so at this party morning
we create a situation
and you join us for the wedding
I just want to hold closer
I just want to whisper
a song to you
I’m finding
a strange way
to love people
all directions from the same place
don’t lead to the same place
that’s why you’re a butterfly
and I, a moth, but one family
the abandoned lawn
but I care about you
you need to know your battles
and how to choose your directions
When death comes,
He will find me with a cup of tea,
Enjoying the summer evening rains.
He will find me with my favourite book,
Turned to the page I like the most.
He will find me with the radio on,
Playing a song very well a retro now.
He will find me in my mother's dress,
Draped clumsily on a whim.
He will find me with my father's pen,
And a blank notebook in the lap.
He will find me with our wedding photos by the bedside table,
And his cologne still saturating the sheets decades later.
He will find me with the memories of our children,
And the last conversation we had a month ago.
He will find me with anticipation and relief,
With a smile and perhaps a tear or two.
Death will find me willing and ready,
And a little nervous to meet the familiar 'ol friend.
The wounded warrior can barely stand
A beautiful speech therapist
Now leans only on a flimsy , breaking branch
The battlefield , a hospital. Diagnosis: cancer.
A ribbon tied loosely around her skull
Hides small wisps if you more than glance
Which once held luscious locks of chestnut Strands
As she walked proudly among her patients
And down the wedding aisle, her white dress flailing
Before the bravery, before the surreal
The bow about to break and no surgery can heal
as the hand of wicked illness
Steals a friend , so Dear
Her heart-breaking collapse
Crushing the hearts and souls of her little Ones
She fought tooth and nail to be their Mom
For those who never knew her heart or gentle soul
all I can say, is I feel much sorrow
"It's not fair", were the final dying words
Of a woman fighting and wishing she would live
Atleast until tomorrow
Collected all the links to my favorite kinds of wedding dress
overwhelmed by the possibilities I will not possess
this useless project has been amusing but brought so much stress
It's a silly exercise in fairytale daydreams I guess
since I'm not even aiming to form relationship success
were I really engaged I could say I've made lots of progress
With my obsessive-compulsive search of wedding clothes access
perhaps I can help engaged friends pick their style and say Yes--
--to the dress! The more modest it is, the more it will impress!
Once my heart was made of stone
Cold and hard, it stood alone
But then I met a gentle soul
Whose kindness made my heart whole
I felt a change, deep inside
As walls I'd built began to slide
Love seeped in and warmed my core
And all the hurt I felt before
Slowly faded, like a dream
As hope and joy began to gleam
I saw the world in a new light
And felt my heart take flight
Now, my heart beats with love and grace
And every smile I see, I trace
Back to the moment when I knew
That my heart had changed, and grew
From a lonely, bitter stone
To a warm and caring home
For all the love that I can give
And all the joy that I can live.
I invite you to see my milestones;
Twisted tea tastes better.
I want you to understand my goals;
Twisted tea tastes better.
I want you to be in my life;
But you drink until you steal a strangers sweater.
I offer you love when you feel alone -
You don't think I"ll worry ever;
But I'm not sure Twisted tea should taste better.
BEST MAN
He feels his situation could be dire
On the hard shoulder, stands aghast
A shiny black Mercedes flashes past
At that speed, the fuel will not last
But then he turns back to his flat tyre
He’ll miss the wedding, not the fallout
With a trunk full of luggage to extract
To then find he has no spare, in fact
Just one more item he knew he lacked
Nor membership for breakdown callout
The advice is to remain with the car
Not seated inside, but standing apart
And now he senses the rain will start
A miserable feeling deep in his heart
A day with performance well below par
His phone has no signal at this location
And now he is getting cold and wet
Another thing he feared he’d forget
Is the ring, and bride he’d not yet met
And with no prospect of reparation
A police car pulled up just behind
They heard his dilemma and radioed in
Arranged for a tow and repairs to begin
Then got him to church top rescue a win
A debt he owed when brought to mind
With great anguish the day began,
Death severed love's embrace
A life of promises and plans
With one last breath the time we had together erased
With trembling hands he held himself tight
Tears rolling down his cheeks
The stinging tears hit the ground as they rolled off his face
His only love turned on him
Leaving him in the dust
Leaving him behind as she flew up into the sky
Not willing to say a goodbye
The harsh pain was much more than he could bear
Wedding bells were soon to ring
Her white satin gown draped across the bed
Collecting dust by now,
But now he wears a suit of black
To say his goodbye's
Each night his pillows' wet with tears
The devastating dreams are slow to part
Now in his eyes,
The heartache is still the silence of a broken heart.

Two friends that life separated for a Time
Who's reunitation can only be described as Sublime
On this day we are all fortunate to share in their bliss
From when they both say I do to their first married kiss
I was there at the start when their second chance begins
I am blessed in this life to call you both friends
May this day be the beginning of a forest planted with two seeds
May your love help them grow and meet all of your needs
May the sun shine down onto them helping them grow
May their branches intertwine like the love you both know
May the shade from them protect you both on this earth
May all who look apon them see what love is worth
For what could be Simpler for J.R. and Megan
Then to share in the Joy where their forever began
We know your wish to unite
Is so truly meant,
Let your love be the stone,
This blessing - the cement.
May you build on firm foundations,
And never build on sand,
May you both embrace the future,
And approach it hand-in-hand.
May your love for one another
Increase with each new day,
Bringing you true happiness,
Never causing you dismay.
May this blessing merely be
The very start of your new life,
May your dreams become reality,
Now that you are man and wife.
I hate it
I have been watching a love story on TV, and it never fails
I blow my nose get tearful; I curse myself for being a soppy fool
movies like this were made to appeal to my tear ducts.
The film is about a rich man’s daughter who falls in love
with the chauffeur; to the rich man’s anger, the chauffeur is fired
The young couple elopes the grumpy father hires a detective
to find them and since they are so beautiful and frequent places
only the rich can afford, they are easily spotted.
The girl cries a lot and is given house arrest
the young man gets a job as a short-order cook at a truck stop
Two years later, they meet again in the street, their love has grown
stronger than before, and he turns out to be the lost son
of a royal family somewhere in Europe.
Upon hearing this, the father forgives his daughter, pays for the wedding.
A beautiful wedding even the pastor cries.
Intro: I would like to devote this poem to my great friend Vijay, as he's the one who first exposed me to the 'Lay" form( all lines must have 8 syllables and rhyme)
Friends from my youth are all elapsed
One died sadly by his people, ditched
From someone with an odd wedding,
To those who share beds for sleeping
One wise taught around the world's way
Other spanked by car on roadway.
From the one, they tease mate's bad show
To one who blames self, pals bestow
Other heart laid away and read,
newspaper, laying on his bed
None told us life would be this way
We weren't told round daily decay.
I'd call on your birthday with kind.
I'd kneel to soothe your gloomy mind.
And I'd grasp what you vibe me to.
I'd sob on your chest as dust drew.
I tend you as your grin sieve hope.
All this will be trailed by a rope.

Down the aisle as the flower girls drew,
Carrying fresh flowers from flower garden,
The sun stroke the ground 'n' dried the dew,
The birds chirped melodiously as they flew,
It was the day Jane got married to Jayden.
The wedding was attended by many not few,
The gown was white 'n' the rings were golden,
Performances were done by a dance crew,
The cameras provided a wonderful clear view,
It was a little bit traditional and also modern.
There were meals, cakes, drinks and stew,
As she enjoyed her last day as a maiden,
Night drew but they weren't afraid of curfew,
Everybody danced till the tables were askew,
It was a celebration that you don't see often.

The Unending Love
Let me love you once again
You are the reason I shy
You are the reason I cry
Let me love you once again
Darling you are my sweet crush
You are my teeth & brush
How can I eat without you?
You are my appetite & diet
You are my goldberg my sight
Nothing is more sweeter than you
Bitter salty metallic sour ripened male
Remember Love is not for sale.
Note.Love is blind not the lover.
