From a Lonely, Bitter Stone

Once my heart was made of stone Cold and hard, it stood alone But then I met a gentle soul Whose kindness made my heart whole I felt a change, deep inside As walls I'd built began to slide Love seeped in and warmed my core And all the hurt I felt before Slowly faded, like a dream As hope and joy began to gleam I saw the world in a new light And felt my heart take flight Now, my heart beats with love and grace And every smile I see, I trace Back to the moment when I knew That my heart had changed, and grew From a lonely, bitter stone To a warm and caring home For all the love that I can give And all the joy that I can live.
