Ode for a Fortunate Infant
Newborn:
Smacked and
Screaming —
Hardly more than a new fact,
A statistic
Already forgetting
The crush into Becoming.
This “tabula rasa,”
Kicking and flailing,
Not yet swaddled or cradled,
Held only by Fate
In the first minutes of Destiny
(unformed and waiting)
With a heart
Needing to be embracd
By more than just touch,
But blessed to completely feel
The warmth of Acceptance
That founds a first sense
Of Identity as being a Self
Here linked with Others…
For the first lessons of Love —
Swaddled in belonging
Wrapped with thanksgiving.

Thanks be to God…

Speak the truth
at your own risk
Wager fortune
for just one kiss
Walk the tightrope
of joy and pain
No past or future
—the moment gained

I'm fortunate because
loves permeates me,
because my smile
lifts me up...
I'm happy because
I have energy that
moves me, I have
the poetry that
helps...
I have someone who
loves me without asking
nothing...or almost nothing...
Because I love people
and they give me strength...
I'm blissful because I found out
that I'm alive and that
makes me very rich...!

The garden
holds a drowsy half eyed
hum of bees
and the whispers
of leaves high above, then,
a hint of magnolia clouding
around the chair on which you lay
a breath or two from sleep.
The moment a warm surround
of passing thoughts
let free to wander
and drift towards
some out of focus haze.
And here time passes
in a barely conscious play
of fragmented scenes,
paused briefly when the eyes
squint open as if to reassure
yourself that you are real
and anchored here,
not in the prison
of someone else’s dream,
to awake not you
but in another place
where the afternoon darkens
and you are, instead, lying
in a muddy ditch overlooking
ruins still smouldering and strewn
with dead.

Independence day
My country independence day celebrations,yes
Iam happy to be a part of it but I have no role in getting independence to my nation.
I'm very much fortunate ,that I was born in a independent nation.i never knew what was the struggle for freedom in those days,I never witness the strength of spirit involved in fighting for the country.
I knew one thing for shore ,that this independence ,freedom what iam enjoying is because of so many great ,good people and their continuous contribution ,fighting for their nation.
They have done an excellent, everlasting, ever remembering job in getting their nation free from the British rule.
Today ,i can talk freely ,I can walk freely, I can share my views clearly without any fear in my nation is all because of them ..
What can I do for them? For their patriotism.
I can't give anything for them now,for their sacrifice except living my life freely ,proudly, sharing my opinions clearly for the developement of my nation .
I ,once again salute all the soldiers, freedom fighters who brought freedom to India and giving me a independent life
Thank you all ..
Happy independence day india.

Fortunate is, who is
bliss with the little
that has...
In hardness or softness!
Fortunate is, who is
successful in the fight, in the deal
that faces...
Blessed is, who still
dreams and this dream
cherishes...
who lives in God
and in peace...!

We have:
Shelter to keep us safe
Protect us from the elements
And some of the human race!
Clean running water with just a turn
Food at our fingertips
Education for all to learn
Many forms of transport
Shoes on our feet, clothes on our back
People to help us if under attack
Doctors,hospitals, medicines when we need
All the comforts and pleasures of life
Freedom guaranteed
Others are not so lucky
They struggle to survive
Just to have the basics
To keep them alive
Such unfairness and hardship
To sustain and just be
Life so unjust
How lucky are we …..

Like a child he approaches his Miss,
Requesting her to give him a sweet kiss.
Making sure that there is no one around,
She gives him one, making no sound.
Like an angel, her love on him she showers,
With a tight hug, using all her powers.
He feels as if a great battle he has won,
And regards himself as the most fortunate one.

I'm fortunate because
love permeates me,
because my smile
lifts me up...
I'm cheerful because
I have vivacity that
moves me, I have
the poetry that
comforts me...
I have someone who

anything..or almost nothing...
because i love people
and they donate me strength...
I'm fortunate because I found out
that I'm alive and that
makes me extremely rich...!

Stuff on my mind has been puzzling me
Like why have I been one of the lucky ones
When they were handing out the happy stuff
Was I at the head of the line
Was it my enthusiasm that made the difference
For most of my life I've been this fortunate dude
But for one exception the passing of my first wife
Who was such a loving soul
A truly unique lady with a heart of gold
She finally succumbed after a long battle
With that dreaded scourge breast cancer
But then I realized life goes on even though at the time
I really didn't care one way or the other
But the human spirit is very resilient
And we move on
Aside from that very sad time my life has been amazing
Laughter has always been key
There is so much unhappiness and tragedy in life
To survive we must take a “c'est la vie” attitude
I guess the bottom line to all of this is
Live for today and tomorrow will take care of itself
Now that surely makes sense to this old dude

You must bite while there is still
meat on the bone.
Writing starves without sustenance.
So take a bite and write!
Make it a point to bite off
more than you can chew.
It just may make a writer of you.
Perhaps no reader will ever make sense
of a single sentence you compose;
a thought that ignites you with serious strife.
But all it takes is one fortunate spark!
And a series of words you raw imagined,
then cooked and cobbled together,
amazingly, somehow...
Changed someone's life.

Fortunate you, who live
content with the little
that has...
In hardness or softness!
Lucky who is
prosperous in the fight, in strength
facing ...
Blessed, who still
dream and that dream
cherish ...
Who lives in God
and in peace ...!

Every household aims to live in joy,
aspiring to receive God's grace.
God expects each family
to obey His command
so they will be safe
from all troubles
and hardship
these days
bring.
