Foregone Poems

A Foregone Conclusion

Life has surely broken me.
I’ve flunked out at Everything.
Why consider equally
When Options just desert Me?

Too grimed up, I cannot see
A single reason surfacing,
Hiding Places changing,
Constantly and arbitrarily,
Disappoint inevitably.

It only ends up baffle-ing
That the Ones who stuck by Me
Were No One and Nobody.
The Needed ones Abandoned me,
Never even wanted me.

Been let down by EveryOne
And 100% of Practically
All and and Every Single Thing,
Left for dead and wasting
To a husk of Me.

So what's the point,
Quite pointlessly,
When you will only
Start new things?
Old ones failing,
Interest lost and dropping,
Forcing hands repeatedly.

Home to pack a bag and leave,
All doors slammed resoundingly,
Locks all changed and shut to me.
Happy Endings Abruptly.

Don't care what you do to me.
Lost my sensitivity:
Burning hurts so painfully.
Once Angry scars
Protect My Heart
From all Hope,
Now lost to me.

It doesn’t hurt, just disappoints.
I have no mass, I’ve been disjoined,
Won’t shatter when you drop me.

All do eventually;
A mere eventuality,
Forgone Conclusively.

Premium MemberForegone Conclusion

If no lawyers will take a case,
Because lies they won't embrace
How can they defend anyone
When they know in advance what they have done

If anyone is indefensible
How can a Lawyer defend?
Lawyers are not indispensable.
Their careers can quickly end.

It's a waste of time and money,
To take a guilty man to court.
It can cause more corruption,
Especially if a Lawyer can be bought,

As some can,
And the lies told free a guilty man

It seems a foregone conclusion,
When a person is as guilty as can be.
That they go to prison
Or plead insanity.

A local political icon

Gave all his speeches with boots on

     The muck he was raking

     No hands were he shaking

His fate with the voters was foregone

When Friendship and Esteem Have Been Foregone

When we have strangled virtue at her birth
And evil thoughts are all that we can find
We cannot take a draught of cheerful mirth;
Escape from this black prison in the mind.

When friendship and esteem have been foregone
And lone as buzzards circling are our hearts.
Remembrance of past joys will not come
And soon from us the last love will depart.

When wickedness draws down our minds to die
And hatred seems to cloud the very sky
When we don't look to see the winter geese go by
When all we do is moan and weep and sigh

Then let's remember all we have not lost;
Knot firm our souls till this dark grief has passed

Foregone Conclusion

You've reached your
            goal
      and now you can take
             some time
     to revel in
          your success
    Yet it's transitory
         like everything else
     The end of the story
     is always the same
        If you wish
           you can try to
       "live in the moment"
               or
         "be here now"
    However you try to build
    your dam
        to hold back the rushing
   waters of time
           you will always
wind up in the same position
    Yet the sun still shines
    Moonglow still pierces
  the night air
        A delicate piece of
        crystal, this life
