Stars Like Diamonds

Stars like diamonds

The stars are like diamonds,
shining brightly in your eyes
Illuminating my darkness
as you cover me with your skies

The moon in it's splendor
is nothing when compared to you
Your reflection of my love
comes beaming right on through

Excerpt taken from my poem
called Universal love.

Stay Awhile

Stay awhile… Share your smile It’s been gone so long from your face... Do I see you now basking in her loving embrace? I see that sparkling dance in your eyes Singing of love now and tomorrow That is the sound track of your life She is your future and I am your past You want your love to last? So please don’t delay Run… to her fast As she will fervently pray You might still say... Stay awhile … Pat LeDuc January 30, 2018

Her

(Anacreontic Verse)

Carved fierce from
sensuous stone
by an unerring
hand to stand
tall and naked
with me in the
morning sunlight.
Catching every
curve, reflect more
than the parts
capture something
of the rapturous
whole, those beams
know not what
beauty they carry
as her skin -
a suple mirror -
shows light itself
how sunrise
ought to look.
Bright sky blue eyes
pour into the room,
tiny prisms
filter out
heavens colors
to give me
but a glimpse.

You Are

You are my heart's home,
You are those reborn rays of light,
Even amidst darkness that roam.
You are the fragrant filled breath,
That my lungs intake
If you are a sin
I'd love to be a sinner,
To perpetrate this sin
And repeat this mistake.
You are my untamed desires,
Perfect present,
And priceless morrows,
For whom I'd strip
My instincts bare.
You are the blissful sparks
To my endless beginnings
You are my mindful obsession,
Bordered with heartfelt devotion.

I Will Carry You

I will carry you
BY HEROLD OSMOND OWOSEB

In expectation
Ready to receive
In expectation
Waiting for rain

The clouds gather
Progress a process
Waiting on the first drops
Can feel it in the breeze

Like silver and gold
I will treasure you
Through rivers and jungles
I will carry you

In the dark I will search
During the sunlight, I will pursue you
The day will come; I will find you
There is sign of rain

                                                                                                                19 January 2013

The Plucked and Watered Flower

THE PLUCKED AND WATERED FLOWER

Wondering lonely as a floating firmament,
Seeing a petal held up by the branch
Like a host of golden daffodils,
In the green pastures of nature
whistling sounds of peace
Besides the still lakes of serenity,
I apply as the gardener in the vineyard
Mulching the gracious garden
As my weary toes grips mother earth.
To pluck the flower is to "like"
With the help of the heavenly wind
But love is to water the flower,
Daily, as such is the true life
Splintered with the taint of love.

O Fair Adrenaline

O’ fair Adrenaline
Oh, powerful you make me strong;
I can’t do wrong
Beautiful Adrenaline
You got my heart pumping
Got my breath in my chest
I’m just sweating
Biceps protruding bulging;
I stand next to you Adrenaline
Strong
Come
You secreted me
Hormonally
You’re stress,
You take my breath
Excited exertions do you brew
I belong to you
Beautiful Adrenaline
You got my heart pumping
Got my breath in my chest
I’m just sweating
Biceps protruding bulging;
I can’t do wrong

Oh, powerful you make me strong;
O’ fair Adrenaline

Exiled

My love, an exiled of your reign,
I might have lost your love, but not the sense,
Who dares to oust me from such grace?
He who dares must meet my pain.

My love, I'm exiled of your love,
In some other arms I have not found,
Such essence,
Such touch,
My nightmares turning into lust.

Compelled by your grace,
Expelled from your reign,
I was not but a fool!
Turned into your slave.
By your grace, by your grace...
Damned be your grace!
Which allured me to stay.
Damned be your eyes!
Whose innocence made me bend.
Damned be your face...
For drawing the perfect dream,
Nightmare of my nights,
Yet my reason to live.

Damned be your grace...

No Goodbyes Repost

No Goodbyes

N ever has anyone been able to capture my soul
O nly you have my heart, using remote control

G one are the days of my never ending solitude
O vercast shadows dissipate, with my newfound mood
O bvious to all my heart and soul are all yours
D estiny has infused your fragrance, into my pores

Y our essence has consumed me, and finally I realize

S eparation is impossible, because I love you blindly.

The Last Love Letter

Night lifts the ebon shroud onto the curved silk of sky,
the dazzling drizzle of spectrum at dawn has begun,
paints pearls on meadow where dulcet dew drops lie,
the dance of hues starts under the shimmer of the sun.

The cadence of cloud descends to pulsate on my face,
I feel to your heart so far now my sunburst love flow.
The cascade of colors enwraps you with glory of grace,
like a dainty leaf drenched by twilight tinge you’ll glow.

The rising sun’s splendor splashes dream dust on me,
I float my mind on paper boat on river of reverie anew.
It will reach you sailing on wings of zephyr you’ll see,
carry this last letter I wrote in color of my heart to you.

One January Night

She can't blame the season for her tears
Aloneness was not loneliness in December
When the season passed so quickly in disguise
Of twinkling lights and toasts remembered

Alone, but never lonely in the unforgettable place
Of crowds, and smiles, and friendliness that has gone away
Now, in the utter dark, she cries without a face
And closes the curtains on another winter's day

Sheltering her candle, from where the draft still blows
The wind is not the only foe that makes demands
She feels the sting of tears that bloom and grow
Like the hot wax that is spattered upon her hand

Waiting many hours by the phone
No voice to warm, to keep away the cold
A meal to fix...for one alone...
A radio plays softly,...the melody is old

She can't blame the onions for her eyes, for she remembers
Other times when aloneness was not loneliness in December

Alluring Fraud

I am not but a fool that craves thy mouth,
Such craving has made me lost every sense of mine.
I crave thy eyes, shining like a pair of stars,
Taking on the spotlight, stealing the show of the night.

In the dark of the night whenever I feel lonely and lost,
That is when I most crave thy voice,
Mumbling light into the night, illuminating every sense of life,
Hunger of thy smile, craving your laugh,
Thirst of thy skin, alluring fraud...

I do remember her hair,
Waving in rhythm with her silhouette,
Have I lost my head? Is it too late to escape?
I've fallen into your spell,
I have lost more than I ever thought I'd have,
Chasing a dream, chasing a fraud.

But I keep asking the same question in my head,
Over and over again... Does she remember as well?
Over and over again...
Is it now time to escape...(?)

If Suddenly

You should know...
A few things:

If suddenly,
You seek an egress,
Your soul I'd love to caress,
If I can not prove my love,
Like I used to do so,
Then with words I would preserve it,
Through eternity, and infinity.

If suddenly,
You stop thinking of me,
Read my words,
And with words you will remember me,
It doesn't matter if time has passed,
It doesn't matter if you cry,
I will be there.

If suddenly,
You feel alone,
With no one to turn,
With no stone to throw,
And no shoulder to cry on,
You can always come home,
Fragile rose...
You will always be my rose,
You will always be my love,
No matter the cost,
I will be there for you...

If suddenly,
You feel like the sun doesn't shine,
And that the moon is lost, behind the clouds in the sky,
If your world has turned black,
And your nightmares take over your nights,
Close your eyes,
Forget the world, forget everyone...
And I will be there...

Forever In Your Eyes

Forever in your eyes

It's been twenty five years together,
and I can still, see forever,
I can still, see forever in your eyes

It's true we've been through stormy weather,
but we hold on to loves tether,
our bond of love gets stronger with the years

Chorus
Nothings going to change the love we feel
'cause we both show that our love is for real
two broken people, bound together as one
Nothings going to change the love we feel

You never thought we'd make it five years,
well we passed it with a few tears,
so your fears, never proved to be true

I never thought we'd make it fifteen,
but we blew right passed sixteen,
twenty five years have passed like just a few

Chorus
Nothings going to change the love we feel
'cause we both show that our love is for real
two broken people, bound together as one
Nothings going to change the love we feel

It's been twenty five years together,
and I can still, see forever,
I can still,
see ...
forever ...
in ...
your...
eyes...

Long Ago At Christmas Time

Long ago at Christmas time.
By Stanley Russell Harris
The new mad author
And A poetry soup honourably mentioned poet
7th January 2017

Long ago at Christmas time.
It always use to snow.
We kids slid down hills on dustbin lids.
We really did you know.

Rich kids, well they had posh sledges.
Bought from the shops, you see.
But we went down them hills as fast as them.
On our dustbin lids did we!

Once I used a plastic bag.
It really did slide fast.
And I felt every blinking bump.
And had a real sore hand!

I used my hand as a brake.
Or in the book I would go.
As did some of those posh sledges!
They really did you know.

I wish it had snowed this Christmas.
I really do you know.
As now plastic bags are stronger.
They really are you know.

But sadly, there was no snow.
No posh sledge or plastic bag could I see.
And now we all have wheelie bins.
No dustbin lids have we.

We cannot destroy government property.
And remove the wheelie bin plastic lids.
Although if we could. I’m sure we would.
Slide down that hill merrily.

I Wish You Love

Waking to the heady wisps of a mildly settling dawn-break, I understand why we are connected trading our private reflections with ease in the name of deep affinity--after all these years, your confessions, milestones have become mine as well. And we both laugh at that fateful day, a serendipitous occurrence in the theater, your handkerchief slapping my face blown by an airwave-- Beneath the patter of falling rain, a coffee for two after-- surely the rest, a history of friendship as an omen of a union washes away all the loneliness of my nights. You, a chain binding me when strength loosens its grip, And I, your designated clown in the drama of your life's courtyard. I now take leave for a long voyage far, thousand miles from this city which knows us well, desperate somewhat to be estranged from you; but that precious gaze reassures me that everything is as it should be... the only thing you'll never know, my dear, is the hidden love I carry --since we met. She Knew How To Live

She knew how to live

She had a ‘Ruthian’ spirit
That gave of her self
With a bit question
And discernment
But gave anyway

Her compassion
Controlled the pathway
She choose to travel

Her heart was always vulnerable
For she knew not
How to guard herself
From the possibilities
Of grace
Or the blessings
That poured from the heavens
To fill her storehouse
With abundance,
A love abundance

It was not that she was not intelligent
That she found herself
Oft’ compromised
Because of her heart’s ways . . .
Nay, she did not think about
Closing her hands
To the needy
Or to those who asked

She was a gem
That sparkled
In the darkest of places.
The light shined continuously
From the corners
Of her eyes,
Leaking out
Unto the world of us all

Her smile was blinding,
Her laughter
Moved mountains
Within the spirits
Of all who had an ear

Yes . . .
She had a ‘Ruthian’ spirit
That gave of her self
With a bit question
And discernment
But gave anyway

She knew how to live !

Peace At Last - Collaboration With Rob Bettridge

There are women who feel a strong need To nag men until their ears bleed In a war of attrition With relentless petition Is a cruel way to make men concede Men wish for a life of peace But get nagged by a tongue that won't cease Men will just say It's the female DNA That must out in its need for release We can’t help it; we just HAVE to nag Guess some folks would call us 'an old hag' But men get on our nerves When you paw at our curves Men should give up and wave the white flag We can suffer from bad PMT, Become ogres that men want to flee We scream and we shout Say we’ll throw you out But for some reason you wont let us be Better by far, we should try this next time It's effective and will prove sublime By wearing earplugs In each of our lugs We'll be laughing whilst nagging - in mime Laughing together will lighten our day It's a tonic to chase our problems away For a really big smile Can last a long while And we'll both get along better that way 24th January 2016-01-24 Collaboration by Jan Allison and Rob Bettridge

Find You

Find you

When you look so hard
but you cant find...
Even though you see, but
you feel so blind...

And sadness darkens
each new born day...
And you feel you've
finally lost your way...

So,
you look to the stars
to lead you home
but, you hate to go
there all alone...

There's no doubt that
the day will come...
When I will find you
and we will be one...

Chorus

Love will set you free
from your chains you
will be released...
I'll never give up
I'll eventually...
- --find you---

(I'll) search ev'ry mountain
and ev'ry valley plain...
In the blazing sun
in torrential rain...

O'er seven oceans
and the seven seas..
Ride the sirocco wind
the caribbean breeze..

There's no doubt
that the day will come...
When I will find you
and we will be one...

Chorus

Love will set you free...
from your chains
you'll be released...
I'll never give up
and I'll eventually...
---find you---

When tears of joy
cascade down your face...
When love's light shines
on that darkened space...

And shadows disappear
without a trace...
You'll finally know love's
true dwelling place.

Chorus repeat two times
fade

When She Dreams

When she dreams/ with Jennifer Noble

(It was a) different time...
a different world
Long ago she learned that..
trust can turn

(Everyone said) such a pretty girl...
Her porcelain skin so soft and new...
but...no one had a clue

Chorus
She still hides from the danger
and when she dreams she's far away...
In her mind...she's living in a better place
No one can take-
take away

Broken bags-treasures saved
I rushed on by but,
could not look away

I could not breathe- so surprised
saw my reflection-in the stories
in her eyes...and...I saw her shine

Chorus 2
She still hides from all the danger
and when she dreams she's far away...
In her mind, she's living, in a better place
no one can take-where she feels safe

She won't tell you her problems,
she won't do as she's told
Sometimes I go and sit beside her
and..watch her universe unfold

Bridge
Where the danger keeps replaying
in the...hollows of her mind
and I try to piece the pieces...
try to give her... some of mine

Chorus 3
We all keep our secrets silent
we walk faster -turn away
We're all looking for a better place
Where we can be
We can be seen...
Where we can dream

Saturday Fight Night

Battered and bruised mommy cries as she tries to cover her black eyes.
But mommy doesn't see daddy as her demise.
One January 25 mommy and daddy awaited as baby arrived.
Smiles of comfort and tears of joy came as so did the baby boy.
Mommy and daddy weren't ready to take care of the child for daddy was still a child.
At heart mommy took all those foul mouth liquor jeers from daddy's mouth but baby didn't
know what that was about.
Mommy stays with daddy for the child, not realizing that it is doing more harm than
anything...comes from daddy's mouth and baby takes it in not realizing.
Flashing lights and sirens ring incredulously one slumber-some December night as baby was
tucked in tight...while mommy and daddy was going on like it was Saturday fight night.
Baby cries but whose there to hear for mommy and daddy curse and de fouls the baby's ear.
Baby's heart is broken and shattered as mommy is shaken and battered.
Sweet kisses to mend her wounds internal and external but are they sincere from daddy's
heart.
They will never part even though in mommy's heart she wishes daddy would leave forever.
One grief-some January 25 mommy rested never to return for her and daddy went on a
walk.
"Where is mommy", said baby but daddy couldn't talk.
What could he say "I beat mommy till I killed her leaving her internally bruised and brain
dead."
He couldn't say that any way for he was talking to Tiny in cell block five that day.
And baby has no other choice than to realize that his family was nothing more than a mere
disguise.
Sirens ring
Sirens ring
Battered and bruised mommy cries for help as she fights for her life.
Because daddy has beat her till her eyes turned dark as night.
It's ironic because baby has become a fighter in Saturday fight night.
