She Knew How To Live

She knew how to live She had a ‘Ruthian’ spirit That gave of her self With a bit question And discernment But gave anyway Her compassion Controlled the pathway She choose to travel Her heart was always vulnerable For she knew not How to guard herself From the possibilities Of grace Or the blessings That poured from the heavens To fill her storehouse With abundance, A love abundance It was not that she was not intelligent That she found herself Oft’ compromised Because of her heart’s ways . . . Nay, she did not think about Closing her hands To the needy Or to those who asked She was a gem That sparkled In the darkest of places. The light shined continuously From the corners Of her eyes, Leaking out Unto the world of us all Her smile was blinding, Her laughter Moved mountains Within the spirits Of all who had an ear Yes . . . She had a ‘Ruthian’ spirit That gave of her self With a bit question And discernment But gave anyway She knew how to live ! © 112 january 2019 : william s. peters, sr. www.iamjustbill.com
