Heraldic Blessing

Under development

Azeur Seme fleur-de-lis, Spencer's chivalry.
Within my soul my hearts sings sonneting
Of Raleigh Medieval poetry, I  set sail the seven seas ;
Tis the dance of a B Minor melodic symphony,
The horizon of an adventure awakens in me
Oh how sweet an anthropology gently upon my Ebony and Ivory ,
Azure Seme fleur-de-lis heralds our welcome home
Within my soul I draw near to land ;
Every note my diaries quill penned
Ne er will my adoration fail your fair hand
And the Sun riseth once again upon our welcome home
Oh how sweet an anthropology gently sings in harmony
Azeur Seme fleur-de-lis harks the Angelic symphony;
Sings my heart and my soul together in sychronicity.

All became purview in her constant gaze ~
eyes that followed, no matter my corner,
nor settee where fleur-de-lis begged recline ~
and, no peace was found in voyeuristic laze.
Even in the vestibule - through the door
            she stares
~ her beauty lingers there and captures
daydreams that share this moment in time.
I wonder ~ did the artist love her too,
he, who captured every seductive line
of wanting eyes and impatient grin?

How can one wish they'd never met a painting
   without knowing ~ lost love...

Pure thoughts sewn into our tapestry
Dances with our thoughts ...

Stunned I stare from a rocky shore
As eagle architects swoop and soar.
Avian aerobats stretch my mind.
Carving arcs in cerulean air
Building an aerial cathedral

Framing clear high walls across the sky
With headlong three-sixties upside down
Form gothic spandrels toward the ground
Flickering feathers turned them around
Racing sunward as a fleur de lis

In a uniting swirl upward bound,
Forming a pole for staffing a cross
Construction stopped at the sight of fish.
As if their cathedral struck the sea
Eagles spun in tsunamic circles

Diving for salmon they taloned tight
Flying swiftly off, soon beyond sight.
I shrugged, amazed by what raptors do.
Jet jockeys may but sigh and admire
Eagles flight gift with dreamy desire.

Premium Member Sunset Called To Her

An orange-streaked sunset
  called to her
in swirling mists
  of sapphire fleur-de-lis

She followed its path
  in hypnotic trance
A pink sherbet blouse
  atop flared pastel pants

As the fire dipped toward the ocean
  her heart swelled with emotion
A graceful dive to waters deep
  treasured memories to keep

Church-Glass

It begins at an apex point,
a hand that’s reaching down,
a dove flies freely below this,
above a divine crown.
You all know what King’s sitting there,
in white robes and halo,
the sun comes in the morning
though shades of molten gold.
The cherub angels fly by Him
above the fallen Earth,
stars on blue like a fleur-de-lis
are speaking to His worth.
Below are the well-known figures,
the twelve who spread the news,
one with curved staff, one with keys,
and words you hear in pews.
On her knees is an old mother
with glory of her own,
clad in blue and violent robes,
the things that she has known…
Behind them all is a tall cross,
letters I. N. R. I.,
a symbol of the sacrifice
they say redeems our lives.
Around it patterns quite complex,
flowers blue, red, and green,
a vernal cornucopia,
rebirth is what it means.
Made by men death a thousand years,
speaking through centuries,
reminding the cynics out there
of the need for beauty.
And though faith still exceeds our grasp,
brings questions to our minds,
you can’t deny that it creates
works utterly sublime.

Favourite Flower

(For a contest). Word Group 3.
Oh, a plane ticket to meet my one true love,
Plus a secret box, on the lid a dove,
Inlaid a jewelled masterpiece,
Fairies in each fleur-de-lis,
Blossoms of gauzy glory,
Perennial veils of fairy stories,
Beribboned spangled treasury,
Fairies flitting so flowery,
Our queen of favourite ruby roses,
Posies for all, one supposes,
Flowerets the best cuddle,
Essence of Spring, residual,
There are fairies in the flowers in the garden,
One favourite flower, a rose---then a garland.

                                                                                                     30/12/2015

Fleur De Lis

FLEUR DE LIS, golden lily
FLEUR DE LIS, holy trinity...
Sacred design blessed by the
Church and given to France
For protection during war
Times...
FLEUR DE LIS, the golden lily
FLEUR DE LIS, the holy trinity...
And when the French came to
The new world it became the
Royal seal of New Orleans...
Not too many people know just
What it really means today but
Needless to say it is the
Unmistakable trademark of
New Orleans and it looks as
Tho it is here to stay..,
FLEUR DE LIS, the golden lily
FLEUR DE LIS, the holy trinity
The FLEUR DE LIS, FLEUR DE LIS!

Summer Dreaming

This is the third
time
I've planted
climbing roses

The first two failed
to fulfill
my romantic fantasy
of
efflorescent roses
flaunting their
naughty
frilly pink bodice
and hooped skirts
draped in loops
like gingerbread
scroll-work
or fleur-de-lis
gamboling,
sauntering
across the white
French trellis

I guess I'm really a
fairy trapped
inside this 5' 8"
terrestrial body
I love how the
amethyst
moon-flowers
with the pentagram
tattooed on their
belly button petals
cast a magic spell
over the garden

And the night
blooming jasmine's
enchanting fragrance
wakens the
dreaming gardenia
and makes everybody
including our blue
eyed ragdoll kitten
a wee bit tipsy

I curl up on my
midnight Jhoola
topiary shadows
crouch
like royal sphinxes
in the starlit
courtyard
and reflecting pools
of water
from summer rains
swirl open their
third eyes
~portals to another
world~

A New Deal

If you dare not to stop me for a Kiss,
A single one that I wouldn’t trade
For every artwork once made,
I will steal your charming fleur-de-lis
To stitch on my coat of arms,
saving me from earthly charms.

How truthful it is if you have to steal,
Easily changing when a new face
chases my eyes with her grace,
Kiss me willing now for our new deal:
To kiss me ever when I demand
as I will also obey your command.

To me, yea, Iris is invisible,
The scent of yours all pervading,
Behold your face all-rich,
When I close my eyes.
Wordsworth's daffodils to me,
Membrane of the eyes,
That gives light to me,
Light that misleads the morn.
You are the genus iris,
With sword-shaped leaves,
Showy colored flowers,
Displaying rainbow colors
Your eyes green and deep,
Deeper than the depth,
Stilled waters at even,
Those eyes break of the day.
I see a heart full of love,
With the gentleness of a dove,
Feel in her eyes March,
September in her heart.

Contest: Convert a song into lyric by Giorgio V.

*This is the revision of my Poem entitled "Break of the Day" posted on this site in 2005 based on Elton John's Amoreena. Actually it was dedicated to a Denmark Beauty.

**The fleur-de-lis is a stylized lily (in French, fleur means flower, and lis means lily) or
iris

Prized for perfumes and medicines,
Rainbow personified & God’s messenger,
Resting the souls of dead women,
Decorum of the graves,
Delight of the ancient artists.

Blooming on Minoan Walls,
Sculptured in stone at Karnak.
Living memories of the French revolution.
Clovis put you on his banner
And won over Germanic tribe.
Louis VII adopted you as device,
‘Fleur-de-lis’ the symbol of France.
Germany suspended you in beer barrels,
And France to enrich the wine,
England to give flavour to brandies,
And Russia flavoured a soft drink.

Then, plucked in a state of chastity,
Now, relegated to flavour toothpaste.
