big jobs exhaust me

one tiny first step

Dreams are never treasured

When confidence is shaken

Success is always measured

By the first step taken

Premium Member Hesitancy Define First Step Divine

I saw all life fade ... merely pass away
of all that I knew hath spun around me
past brace presence death, carpe mortem day

Night hung in shame, weighed aim, promised Word--stay
I spun confused, afterlife, mine this be?
I saw all life fade ... merely pass away

Dark woke me, said the sun won't come this way
death seized day plus time ... Latin decree
past brace presence death, carpe mortem day

Night consoled by dark, a first solace sway
a dead-end sign that the whole world did see
I saw all life fade ... merely pass away

Dark ponders fate yon ... night watched black turn gray
questions ... guilt gift ~ solves ... smiles eternity
past brace presence death, carpe mortem day.

Night and dark ... eternal tenants obey
Eden ends formed founder's first step to free
I saw all life fade ... merely pass away
past brace presence death, carpe mortem day

Premium Member First Step Toward Enlightenment

In order to fully realize and activate your inner child
You must put your minds aside
Your reptilian mind and your cognitive mind
If you want to be fully self-actualized and enlightened

I stared at the soothsayer, but kept my mouth shut.
My minds were both running in all kinds of directions.
I know what I speak of, he assured me. I was not convinced.
Maybe we have different ways of obtaining enlightenment.
My path might be totally devoid of ignoring my minds.

My feelings laughed in my ear.
Believing he knew more than I did.
My muse began to hum and dance.
That’s the first step he told me.
You are on the right path.

Premium Member A Lonely First Step

May I have this dance,
Even though I don't know how?
As if I'm performing brain surgery,
And my only tool is a plow.

Just the thought of one misstep,
Gives my knees a little shake.
Where the ground beneath has shifted,
And I'd swear there's an earthquake.

What if I step on a toe,
Or even worse, cause a trip?
Can any recovery be graceful enough,
    While awaiting that fat lip?

Well, I suppose if I don't man-up,
This time will pass, without a chance.
Showing that risk and its partner reward,
    Move hand-in-hand, towards any romance.

By looking at the “facade” you cannot judge.
And you can’t deduce who is “imperfect.”
Better not crush and “mask” your emotions.
Encounter the poignant humiliations bravely.
Explore answers for “cracked” and “broken” relations.
Check once if any of your actions are “flawed.”
Give up the “torn” and trivial beliefs.
Build your relations on the pillars of hope and courage.
Never expect that somebody would take the charge.
Come out of the “illusion” and take the first step to rebuild.

Premium Member Take the First Step Now

Live your confidence
Follow your heart
Reach for the mountain tops
For if you do not you may always regret it

Tell people how you feel
Share what you want
The right person might be standing six feet away
When they hear you, they may want to help you

Expect the best from everybody
Do not be devastated when you are betrayed
Know this is their fault, it has no reflection on you
Keep the friends who are always there, they always will be

Write down your hopes and dreams
How will you get there?
What is the first step?
Take it now.

Now I Found Something

I want to fall in love again
As I stare in my eyes
In the water's reflection
I suddenly miss the hungry burn
Fingering my scars, I hesitate to
Take a new step
I'm feeling the youthful, ticklish
Yet not discomforting feeling
In my chest
I find myself rambling
Feeling hot and red
Once more
I can't see far into the distance
But I'm willing to make
The first step

Premium Member The First Step Is Fear

If I weren't afraid I'd never have made
The decision that changed my life's direction
An absolute gut-check, no options carefully weighed
My path took an abrupt mid-course correction

Raised with a bare modicum of religious instruction
I knew I was born Jewish, but that's about all
Didn't see anything in it but weeping and destruction
'Til the day my ignorance made me feel small

Confronted by an aggressive evangelist, I had no reply
Couldn't defend my forefathers' faith with a single 'why'
Thought I, a 3,000-year-tradition must have a lot to say
I resolved to go to Israel the very next day

While I had always resented being labeled 'a Jew'
What if the little I knew was actually true?
That there's a God in Heaven Who loves you
But Who you're personally accountable to

Looking back, it was my fear that saved me
From turning my back on my people and nation
For that I can surely thank my lucky stars
That fear's the first step toward faith and salvation

The First Step
is Often the Most Difficult
10-5-2016

All things in life begin with a first step;
Often I’ve hesitated due to lack of faith, fear of rejection,
Or being preoccupied with the end result of that step;

Tom

It Takes the First Step

It takes the first step

I sit at home after losing a car
On a Sunday no way to church by far
You sent a friend who worships elsewhere
To gather a load in her car with no fare
I am delivered to attend church in the evening
To get rid of my hurt
My feelings are involved in this; I owe a debt
Did you know you helped me?
…It takes the first step

Premium Member First Step To Rehabilitation

one step at a time stands still

when the ringing in the ears
and the haze and nausea clears
                                    a broken body sighs

                                     ready for the next

Rehabilitation -Poetry Contest

Love At First Step

A woman walked past
A heart beats within

Just Take That First Step

Just take that first step
Move towards the right direction
Those clouds will eventually disappear
There will be a better sensation
Never stop improving
Put your heart to the test
Find your inner groove
Continue to work on giving it your best
