Growing up

In such a way where it's almost amusing, I get to sit here on achy feet, and a leaning flat pain like metal bars against my chest. I wasn't even allowed to exhale.

It's, like a circus attraction, unavoidable to stand here in a spotlight, and not feel the mockery from a crowd that only draws inhale in my mind. That they knew the knives I call my thoughts, the ones they flung at a spinning wheel I know as my heart, weren't random conjurations, but true sentiments in hopes of nothing but wasted time.

Why was it all wasted time? What do I learn? What do I gain but the soreness of discarded feelings, ones I've spent my whole existence pining for, to keep firing off like flares of a ship that didn't need saving but acknowledgement, and ones I needed to fortify because the universe knows there are too many cruelties that want to drown someone like me.

All for bruises, twinges, and someone to tell me I'm growing up,
because why wouldn't growing up mean more strain?

Premium MemberA Fly In My Poetry Soup

There’s a fly in my poetry soup
It turquoise tries to throw me for loop

With negative Nancy words of discontent
Or fuschia fancy lines littered dissent

Poetry Soup is for friends for fun
Lighten up you’re under gold sun

Be green seed no need to be a gun
Firing off rudely red notes to anyone

I learned my lesson in faith
Let the negative Nancy fade

For there will come a denim day
They’ll meet their own match hurray

Premium MemberTo Talk To Your God

To talk to your 'God'; You must realize
God created your 'BRAIN' this is your tool
to be used when communicating, to realizing

in your brain are electrical Lights or nerve signals
constantly firing off, electrical connections
your brain is throughout our universe transmitting

God is just a light 'ear' away: your brain was created
too send/talk to your God; So to communicate do this...
without uttering a sound from your lips; thinking concentrate...

"to yourself" inwardly speaking too yourself, not out loud see...
your brain is you, what God created, unlike meditation...
God is always with you, see you, love you, happy for you to be

Contours of Passion

You are a thousand miles of sheer delight,
When I turn the key our passions ignite,
Firing off a strong robust heart that's yours,
My knees weaken waxing your sleek contours,
O' my splendiferous, overpriced Genie,
My bright yellow, dream Matchbox* Lamborghini

Premium MemberThey Just Choke On Their Artichokes

Just about to launch a new career
Or maybe I should call it a hobby
Dani Spies has certainly caught my attention
With her mouth watering recipes
And easy step-by-step videos to help us along
I'm drooling all over the keyboard as I type
I'm always game to try something new
The payoff at the end is the ultimate reward
Now I hear some of you saying...
“Are you nutso!!! Aren't you kinda old
To be firing off in a new direction?”
My answer to that is, “I ain't dead am I?
I'm always ready for a new challenge!”
And boy, what a rewarding hobby... yum, yum!!!
I'll keep you posted as to how much weight I gain
(ie. One of the annoying side effects!)
Wish me luck all you nice people!
Next I'll have a show on PBS entitled
“Old Chefs Never Die
They Just Choke On Their Artichokes”

Premium MemberSpace X and Falcon Number Nine

There is a rocket firing off today
Sending a business adventure trip far away
With the thunder below
Up it will go
Looking to put technology in the sky
In a late afternoon scripted signature that everyone on the beach will wave bye bye
Falcon number nine is spending the dime
To climb climb climb
Calling the plays from the huddle
Very near to the pad for the shuttle
Internet interaction will be shared
In this mechanical bon voyage that has flair
Traveling to many orbits out there
Sixty broadband satellites will be dispersed
Into the vast universe
After the fact that been confirmed
Space X had money to burn
Linking the stars from above
With Intergalactic communication that fits like a glove
T Minus the launch will be here
Giving us new apps to play with next year

Nobody Knows

The winds sit still and nobody knows
the clouds gather and nothing is shown
darkness takes hold and life lets go
hiding of the moonlit show
still nobody knows

The sun makes it up to my window sill
aimless I'm lost in another pill
gathering myself I long to see
what has overtaken me
but nobody knows

I'm half-way to the end but I missed the start
extracting shards of failure pulling me apart
broken back and peeled
my signed surrender is sealed
still nobody knows

Cast shadows walking the other way
escaping the light of day
covered in cloth hidden the sin
trapped in a game I couldn't win
but nobody knows

Against the wall erected to guard
weakened and hard
firing off a blank
who am I to thank
and I don't really know

A fine line between here and gone
just a peasant and a pawn
don't let me check out
a chalice oozing with doubt
does anyone really know

Firing Off

In the heat of passion. The words are fired off.
Spewing them randomly, with indifference and feeling
Spiritually bitten, with venom induced systemically
Spouting hatred has done them in, firing off yet again.

Randomly spewing with indifference, and feeling
Angry on this land, they spoke this language
Firing off. Yet again has spouting hatred done them in?
The ship began to sink, it was just then too late,

Randomly spewing with indifference, and feeling?
Spiritually bitten with venom. Induced systemically,
It was just too late then. The ship began to sink.
In the heat of passion. The words are fired off.

235 Years of Independence

Today is July the 4th and millions of Americans are celebrating.
We got independence in 1776 and that's something I'm not understating.
Many people will be shooting fireworks tonight.
When I light my bottle rockets, they will take flight.
I'm really looking forward to firing off Roman Candles.
But fireworks can be dangerous if they're mishandled.
Celebrating the fourth of July sure does make a lot of sense.
For two hundred and thirty-five years we've had independence.
