sleep paralysis

one half’s an arc the other a strobe ~ light becomes your coagulant

signals and synapses firing off sparks ~ try open eyes but you can’t

all bound together forming a dream ~ welded to the somnambulant

David, Sleep is an interesting phenomenon...we know certain things take place in the brain during this time. Dreams are a great indication of an aspect of the activity taking place while we "rest." You seem to be pointing out that we sometimes act as if asleep after waking. That's a strange situation to be in, but it likely does happen to some people. On the other hand, some cult members act as though they are asleep all the time. Smiles!!

Haha yes they do Duke, some people are extremely impressionable, we could also probably debate the process of brainwashing, and those most likely to be influenced, sleep paralysis is a real condition, but you have wisely pointed out a further interpretation I had in mind when writing, cheers David

He who looks outside, dreams He who looks inside, wakes up—Carl Jung He is my go to these day's. David, I haven't had sleep paralysis for quite a while, maybe other sleep disorders. New words are always welcomed. Great work! Cheers!

Lol. "If music be the food of love, play on" William Shakespeare, dig in! I get my fix as well. Today's music, anything like Floor Jansen, lead woman.

You’ve mentioned some real die hards, I still listen to metal, grunge, punk, and everything in between, once it has balls I’m in! Lol!

Thanks Anaya, that’s a nice quote full of mindfulness, the netherworld between wakefulness and dream can be extremely disturbing, much worse than any nightmare, (hold my breath as I wish for death, please god wake me) One by Metallica! Cheers David

These Monoku sound a titch dangerous, David, firing off sparks! If I'm going to dream, I'd prefer a pleasant one and not one that turns into a nightmare. Sleepwalking in a horror, I'd weld myself to some contraption and bleed to death before my blood would coagulate. I'm being silly... my apologies.

That’s the weird part Lin you’re never really awake in the first place, it’s a subconscious state inside an unconscious dream, you must wait til it passes to become fully conscious, I know! you don’t really want to go there :)

I'm happy to say I've never suffered from such a condition. Sounds very scary, and how in the heck is anyone supposed to be calm enough to go back to sleep?

Heya Lin, thanks for tackling this subconscious one, the worse part of sleep paralysis is thinking you’re awake yet still somehow feel welded to the bed, and unable to move, mind goes into overdrive, you must go fully back to sleep in order to wake up properly, cheers David
