Nobody Knows

The winds sit still and nobody knows
the clouds gather and nothing is shown
darkness takes hold and life lets go
hiding of the moonlit show
still nobody knows

The sun makes it up to my window sill
aimless I'm lost in another pill
gathering myself I long to see
what has overtaken me
but nobody knows

I'm half-way to the end but I missed the start
extracting shards of failure pulling me apart
broken back and peeled
my signed surrender is sealed
still nobody knows

Cast shadows walking the other way
escaping the light of day
covered in cloth hidden the sin
trapped in a game I couldn't win
but nobody knows

Against the wall erected to guard
weakened and hard
firing off a blank
who am I to thank
and I don't really know

A fine line between here and gone
just a peasant and a pawn
don't let me check out
a chalice oozing with doubt
does anyone really know

Very deep and packed with emotion, Tim, different for the love and romantic poem you've written . Don't let the cold and winter season bring you down... Take that shovel and start shoveling the snow to get you thinking of love and the warm embrace of the one you love again..Hugs

this is a great poem, Tim - this part "but nobody knows" really resonates with me... because nobody knows how we're really feeling on the inside, besides the facade we let the world see - loved it <3

Hi Tim, I agree with them below me. This is a sad dark write. I felt the pain in each word. I have close family memembers who suffer from depression. I know first hand how it affects the one ssuffering from it.I'm often left feeling helpless because I can't do more to help them.Well done. A without doubt seven- Alexis

Gosh Tim I have to agree with Chris this is deep and dark It's so different to your usual style. I feel quite down reading this poem - many suffer from depression and its an issue that is hidden:-( hugs jan xx

Oh, I felt that pain, especially where I am still residing at the moment.... But despite all that, the poem is a beauty in itself, so wonderful.

I'm sorry Jan. I know a few friends that have depression and then I saw a movie last night about someone depressed and it stuck with me.

Tim this is so deep and dark, what a fantastic piece of writing. You have definitely pulled out the stops on this emotional beauty. Wow, I could feel this, the pain, the questions , the torment of the mind. This awesome.
