Our heroine Dorothy is caught up in a storm,
She looks around as she lands, unbeknown will transform
Children’s dreams in an adventurous way,
With her new friends, let’s say hurray,
Magic shoes travel The Yellow Brick Road, not the norm.
They discovered the Wizard Of Oz was human, a con,
But gave Scarecrow his much wanted brains, wow he won,
The Tin Woodman was given a heart,
Which he wanted from the start,
Cowardly Lion made brave , ruled all beasts under the sun.
Witch East splattered by Dorothy's house landing, she was bad,
Grateful Good Witch North, gives Dorothy magic shoes, Dorothy glad,
Bad Witch West dissolved with water, airfoam,
Good Witch South Glinda, sends Dorothy home,
Click your heels Dot, destination Kansas, a fairy-tale grand.

squirrel dressed up like the count is mighty fine.
She runs door to door, loving it when she is next in line.
Candy comes in so many flavors, snickers is her fave.
She picks out all of the nuts, which make her happily rave

First day
of Fall—hey,
I love the way
I feel today
“Just a simple little ditty, not too long and not so witty, but a feel-good sweet refrain that I’m proud of all the same.” —by poet

We mark
as favourite,
poems that stir our soul,
hoping to rekindle the flame,
perhaps another day, another time
but more oft than not, we do not
cross the same river twice,
forgetting what
we mark.

Through Fedal's incessant reign
He pierced his way to glory
With plenty of effort and pain
He scripted a new story
First Slam in 2008
Number one three years later
But what a miserable fate-
Injury made him retire
He couldn't win a Slam then on
His elbow wouldn't obey
That doesn't mean that he is gone
One still can't match his play
He's the toughest guy on tour
Can bounce back from the brim
The finest of the big four
You just can't conquer him
He'll be back ruling on top
He'll beat those guys afresh
And then he can't be stopped
From being the all-time best

Collecting 45's, I could not wait
for albums of groups' greatest hits to be
released; one band I thought was pretty great
put out the album most well-liked by me.
Its psychedelic cover art was cool.
And Golden Bisquits was the album’s name.
I listened very often after school
to those songs that enjoyed radio fame.
“One,” (the Loneliest Number), fed into
my teenage angst; there was another song
called “Easy to be Hard.” When I was blue
those were the songs with which I’d sing along.
A song of novelty I loved to hear
entitled “Mama Told Me Not to Come.”
The singer, in a silly voice, feigned fear
of a party that he should escape from!
Twelve songs in all, romantic mostly, and
the album had that seventies rock beat.
It was the best deal I would ever get
of all my high school records. It was grand!
My 45’s and albums to this day
are in a closet. I don’t feel it’s right
to trash my youth. How could I throw away
good memories in songs by Three Dog Night?

Emotions diverse
'pon reading your verse
laughing and crying spontaneous
face a-beaming
tears a-streaming
joyful and sad smile-utaneous
My head is swollen
my heart all but stolen
wending across the vast pond
may stars shine my smiles
on you o'er the miles
of whom I'm mutually fond
I'm honored; moreover
positively bowled over
by your verse with acumen penned
of untold pleasure
your writ I will treasure
crack poet and much-cherished friend

You reckon you're a poet
that title, forego it
though you churn out verse
at a rate perverse
and polish and tweak
cos perfection you seek
to replace Mark Twain
but a wish will remain
I rate you no more
than a comment-whore
Yet with ambivalence
masochistic diligence
I seek out your writes
to soar me to heights
with your style unique
all my senses are peaked
silky rhythm and rhyme
your words sing and chime
with admiration I hiss:
there!! your petunia I kissed

Time and again what you write is my FAVE
They stay in my memory and never FADE
You don’t know the difference your words have MADE
You always choose just the right MODE
Whether its one of the olds or one of the MODS
Your writing is truly a gift from the GODS
Into my favourites another one GOES

I
love
the
little game we play
when
your asleep
stuck
bewteen the two worlds of
the
unconscious and
the
conscious mind
when I
whisper your name and kiss
you
a few times
but you smile
no matter how tired you are
welcoming me
to
come to that place
of the
unconscious
and
I
love ripped up
jeans
so
soft
and
comforting
as
i run my fingers over
your
knees
and
I admire
how
durible
the
fabric remains
after
3 long
years
like
us
and
I smile
and
I love
conversations
spent
holding each other
feeling
the
leather
on my back
as
your fingers
trace
outlines
of my
face
and
the
once
or twice
cryings
where
we
were too honest
breaking
each other hearts
but
here where we scooped up
the pieces
and
loved each other
even more
I
love
leaving
the room
and always
knowing where
to find
you
holding
my guitar
unaware of anything but your music
I am
always surprised to hear
the
beautiful
voice
you
always try to hide
and
your
playing
rests still
in my memory soothing my
dreams
and
for
you I dance
in
the land
of the
unconscious mind
to
kiss you once
and be welcomed by
your
arms
