My Fave Writer

You reckon you're a poet
that title, forego it
though you churn out verse
at a rate perverse
and polish and tweak
cos perfection you seek
to replace Mark Twain
but a wish will remain
I rate you no more
than a comment-whore

Yet with ambivalence
masochistic diligence
I seek out your writes
to soar me to heights
with your style unique
all my senses are peaked
silky rhythm and rhyme
your words sing and chime
with admiration I hiss:
there!! your petunia I kissed

Well this put up a lot of conflicting thoughts inside my head... that seems really difficult to write a poem about someone that you are both passionately angry towards as well as someone who you admire. You did a good job however (I wonder who this writer you are referring to is or just something better left unsaid)... I appreciate your comment on my work this morning, btw :)

Delysia, I thought you might like to know that this poem inspired me to write one in a similar vein called: "Waiting for the Dust to Settle." If you like it, you may consider yourself a part of it because in a very real sense, you are! Thanks again for this poem and all your kind comments. Cheerios, Terry

"D": I'm a new-comer to your work and this may be the 1st poem of yers I've read thus far. But it truly ROCKS and I'll be sure to come back for another dose of your kind of poetic inspiration. (Were you writing about me in this one? LOL): Sweet peace...Terry /// PS: Thanks for comments earlier on "If You had but One Last Poem to Write"

Hi Delysia~ Just stared reading your poems today-- they are ALL excellent. You set the bar high at Mark Twain for us, but like you-- every rhyme and verse on P/S has become my new addiction. I love that our country members on the site are all so talented ;)

WOWIE. You did an amazing job here. I didn't see how people could do a challenge like this and I keep seeing so many good ones, it's really surprising to me how everyone is jumping on the bandwagon and blowing it out of the water. VERY good entry.
