take it from me, don't linger long,

beneath each long and lovely lash.
She'll kill you for a song.
...and, yet we all have to die,
I say, philosophically, and sigh -
and I'll tell you, just so you know,
there's no better way to go.

On the dim lit streets of New York town
You danced for uncrowned kings
The whiskey harsh upon your lips
With eyes that could not see
And I'd await by the ocean's shore
With the horses tethered fast
For dawn would draw you homeward
From each exotic dance
You sought for what M'lady
While youth a withered vine
I had but love to give you
The rose of velvet time
In silks and pleasure lay your dreams
As stone became your heart
And I rode fast upon the winds
But your voice bade me come back
So life remained until the morn
When the music lost all rhyme

simple yet complex.

Relax you say, perhaps easier said than done
Time to let down your hair and go out and have some fun
Stress and tension team up to wage war on all of us
This dynamic duo is not happy unless they create a big fuss
They attack our positive emotions in such a profound and negative way
We can't allow these villains of mayhem to control our days
It is time to stop them in their tracks by fighting back
Take a holiday to an exotic beach and have some fun
They seem powerless against the pristine waters and the gorgeous sun
Go out for a walk breath the nice air, and think only happy vibes
In the end, it is up to us to banish these negative emotions for evermore
We have the means, we just need the desire to boot them out the door
Retirement after all these years, time has flown by
My alarm is also retiring, no need to ask why
The first thing on my agenda is a holiday to an exotic place far away
A change to relax and unwind for several days
Reflecting on my career, which was filled with many ups and downs
My chair has already been filled, has my replacement has already been found
Leaving my office for the last time I stopped to talk to my colleagues and say goodbye
Making it to the door I am ready to start a new phase of my life, I start to cry
The place was such a big part of my life
Now with the abundance of time, a list of things to do will be presented by my wife
My children are waiting for my arrival at home
Congratulations on your retirement dad,your grandchildren will make sure you are never alone
What would you do if you were lucky enough to win the lottery
Would you donate some to an aid group that could get some people out of poverty
A trip to some exotic place surely would be in your plans
Would all the money go a long way to increasing your lifespan
Could you buy love perhaps, it would probably be artificial at best
Using your newfound wealth now may be a good time to invest
That would give you more time to think all your decisions through
A well-thought-out plan is what you need to do
As the old saying goes the best things in life are free
Love from family and friends and a warm sunny day are important to me
If I won the lottery would I refuse to claim it, I think not
I require the money to pay for the loan for all the lottery tickets I just bought
Upon the shore,
The exotic moonlight,
Has kissed,
from the oceanic sky,
The moonlight,
Like,
The lavendar,
Dress of irises,
Shimmering,
Upon each wave,
Undulating,
Like,
Sparkling diamonds,
A nightingale,
Lights,
With its warm sighs,
And hymns,
The candle of the moon,
The lakes,
Are fountains,
glistening,
With starry flowers.
