Exactitude Poems | Examples

Premium Memberfinding exactitude

Numbers have an exactitude
Not found in many other places.
Unless you count nature.
Fur on bears
Stripes on a tiger
Sharp teeth on a great white
Bark on trees
Stripes on a bumblebee and a zebra
Playfulness in dogs
Aloofness in cats.
I think I am wrong
Exactitude is found in lots of places

Premium MemberThe Instrument

I envy the precision
of the engineer,
the grounded exactitude
of a trade, to be able
to hold phenomenon within
the spell of an equation,
have the power to make
something from a sum.

I make things from shadows,
the pulled threads
of a mirage and echoes
bubbling up from the bottom
chambers of a void. I work
with the vagaries of whim,
waiting for something to appear
from who knows where,
letting a shape emerge
from beneath a ghostly
gauze of words or reveal
its nature by a residue
of absence left
in the wake of its going.

I am a gatherer of what
is carried on the wind,
the fragrance of flowers,
moans uttered
on lonely shorelines
by the voices of restless seas,
the cry of nightmares,
the crescendos of love,
becoming for a moment
an instrument in some
vast orchestra through which
a divine song is being played.

Premium MemberA Recognition of Unity

The world must come to a recognition of unity
While struggling with a sense of separation
Realizing that we are all genus human being
With no reasonable excuse for alienation,

Our arteries flow with the same blood of life
Long accepting each other’s for transfusion,
[Only good and evil are polarities of exactitude]
Why must we contend with phony exclusion?

We share the earth and all its magnificent riches
For the good of all regardless of race or creed
We must eschew thoughts of personal ownership
Sharing with each other as each has the need.

A sense of separation permeates our daily lives
The ideas of “we” and “they” as entities diverse
While in truth we and they are the exact same
It’s just that we read different chapter and verse.

Oft-Times I Wonder

Mindless Musings Over Morning Coffee

What Is Wrong Or Right?

Whether It be dark or light

Be it in…or out of sight

Wrong or right is neither

Truly Wrong or right

It all depends upon

One’s point of view

Perhaps Unique to you and only you

Perhaps shared by more Than just a few.

Wrong or right are just opinions

That’s hard to wrap one’s around

Formed, molded, conceived

Under different conditions

Mass murderers, Parish priests

Both shaped by fate to say the least

Both lay claim to knowing concisely

With exactitude, what precisely is

  Wrong or right

It’s fair to say most know right from wrong

While at the same time acknowledging

The hard truth that right and wrong are only concepts,

Beliefs and opinions held in one’s mind

And nothing…absolutely nothing is truly

 Wrong or right

Of Myth and More Or Less

I. Myth

A giant, I thought, fondly,
one that brought power first;
then, too, love, always love,
then, too, justice, wisdom;
you commanded the supplications
just as surely as your gods;
I thought it would reside in you
and preside over me forever.

II. More

Far more, I thought, fondly,
and gifts of bounty at hand;
then, too, power, always power,
then, too, justice, wisdom;
so, then, more the reward of good
and more the power of the reward;
you were sure it was yours
and divinity would surely follow.

III. Less

No less, I thought, fondly,
it was always these, I assumed;
then, too, those, always those,
then, too, less the malignant seed;
but assumption is deepest folly,
and greater exactitude held sway;
gone the lesser virtues,
less than the virtues pledged.

IV. Of And Or

I surely walked into a hemisphere
darkened by my own design;
but perhaps you walked, or lurched,
or clumsily something elsed;
perhaps into a hemisphere darker,
unwittingly darkened by folly;
I won't know until I get there,
and even then I might not.

Virus's Nemesis

"Behold, I come quickly." Book of Revelation

I'm a fugitive within
eluding essence
easily beheld by
intangible tangent --- contagion terrorized.
The body that is so dignified, if not deified,
how can it house so violent a guest that
dwells in hell's exactitude?
In transient body fragile flesh
serves god's amplitude.
Silver inlets of faith revoke
solitude -- in god's company one is never alone -- for
another day's vast vicissitude, lingering currents of faith
slip into night's safe haven past
the tumultuous velocity acquiring fluency with
god's fiat of investiture -- in hope.

Premium MemberThe Heavenly Blanket

Heavenly Blanket

I have one, but you can't
purchase one in any department store.
It was created by God, most perfect in every-way.
It's light as a cloud, warms your
body and heart in a delicious way.
The blanket, so magical, it connects you to the stars.
And covers every body crevice
with divine exactitude,
You will sleep in absolute gratitude.
You dream of angels with this blanket by our God.
Gratitude and peace are yours.
At sunrise~you are totally restored!

Premium MemberBetween the Trees

She sat wedged between majestic trees of beauty and style
 sidled in a labyrinth of Faith and exactitude
 The day was damp, I could smell the earth beneath my feet
 and only God knew where the angels were that very moment,
 as she cried tears of water and human petrichor;
 My heart was filled with a deep compassion for her as she wept
 I joined her in the water dance of mercy and love, unrationed
 Her eyes became alive with a deep color of fire and amber
 as she exuded energy that could only be expressed through awe
 I lunged for a moment of communion with her and the
 whole world fell away at our feet....
 The message came hours later, when I stood in silence
 at the window of my soul...
 "FAITH IS NOT A LOGICAL EXPERIENCE ,
 BUT A CONVICTION OF THE HEART"
 One rainy day as I stood in front of the Blessed Virgin Mary
 surrounded by nature and rain, I experienced something
 that was to remain in my heart forever.

Gazal

Collusion of illusions… life that is life
Profusion of confusions... life that is life

Our attitude has not seen exactitude
Conclusion of delusions… life that is life

We have been victims of own opinions
Intrusion of pollutions… life that is life

Realization is not at a reality till now
Infusion of allusions… life that is life

Enmity evaporates not, Rochishmon,
Revolution of retributions … life that is life

Premium MemberWhereas

Savvy scientists scoff at the soul:
Can't poke it, prod it, pinch it, probe it
  ~ and clearly can't claim to contemplate...

an empirical, egg-headed, experimental
all-enveloping ecstasy of erudite exactitude
elegantly and eloquently embossed, embedded
  ~ in its entropy of effervescing exegesis.

Whereas

I know of no one -- nowhere -- nasty or normal
knock-kneed, neck-naped, nose-gnarled
neuron-nitpicked or nucleic-acid-nested

Who

denies indubitably or dubiously, definitely
or deafeningly--deranged, demented,
debauched or denatured -- the sacred
sanctuary unsullied, where sits, serene and
silent, the small, still sound of said soul

swilling, swelling, seeking, sailing, soaring---
sensitively, sensorily, yea sentimentally---

til he sees, then sighs, then seizes
so surreptitiously the serum of sentience

Within!

Premium MemberPrey On the Moment

There is a moment that stalks my solitude
the one where my soul breaks from your absence,
it lurks with the confidence of apocalyptic attitude,
from my fortitude a firecry of absolute need attacks resistance
revealing your fingerprints upon my heart, patterns in somatic multitude
making lust an onslaught of obsession, soul ignition, kiss cognition, partner permanence,
there will be no heart barter, no angle of defense, just you and me in beautiful exactitude,

I discover you everyday, the omnipresence of your love's mainstay
warm on the ******** of my morning, leading me into creation,
I find your poetry in freedom's pain, where love and life play
and when pity drums a cold doubt I see your brave grin,
as the battles end with quiet fatigue you stay
strong and sweet, a promise pure within,
when night softens the body I lay
you take me to bliss again -

Darth Exactitude

I am as invisible as I am indivisible:
And as cunning as they come!
The Jedi think us mere mythical-
The Dark Side long undone...

Lo! we now at last emerge,
My Master and myself!
And upon the Republic we converge-
Lightsabers 'neath our belts!

But now I must betray my Master,
And be a Lord of Sith
Though not through blade or shot from blaster-
Tricked! Like Plagueis did the Bith!

I shall rule the Galaxy-
Alone! No further "Rule of Two"
Impeccably trained and aptly named:
Darth Exactitude!

*Who Are You Fantasy Character Contest Entry
** "Bith" is a species of alien in the Star Wars Universe.
"Plagueis" was a Dark Lord of the Sith who killed his Master, a Bith named "Tenebrous", through elaborate trickery.
"Rule of Two" was enacted by Darth Bane: A Master to wield the secrets and power of
the Sith and an apprentice to covet and crave it. Only 2 Sith can rule at one time in order
to keep the power of the Dark Side of the Force concentrated, potent and focused.
