Euphemism’s a useful device
When referring to things that aren’t nice.
“Where the sun doesn’t shine”
Is a favourite of mine.
I’m sure you don’t need telling twice
A handful words reverberate.
This mind, with lots on its plate,
deprived to designate
a graceful lyric of palatal speech.
Heed a genius to beseech,
whose soliloquy seek impeach.

Euphemisms collateral damage
children died and you smiled
at the flashes of light
bombs make at night
casualties counted
casualties filed
television is making us numb
its sound we march to like a drum
