Ilene went for her morning walk
She saw some friends and stopped to talk
The rain fell down
And soaked her gown
And everyone else stopped to gawk
Lost silver’s feral
As it swirls aqua ~
Elemental chance
looms on fins primal
Sated or not, swims
and grins......eureka!

When we leave the house this morning,
into the half light of the early dawn
from home’s warmth to cheek-slapping cold,
high in the western sky the bright New Moon
hangs like a silver penny there
innocently watching over the grey
mist shrouded secrets of the river.
We follow the path down to the water’s edge,
as the ducks shout out their clam’rous challenge
see the moon now greet the dawning eastern light
caught like a paper lantern in the branches
of skeleton trees while, shining from the bridge,
lights of gold and silver, like jewelled pearls
linger in reflection and await the rising sun.

Elsa was a tall lovely Swede
Cross-eyed and knock-kneed
Million-dollar smile all agreed
Flashing her favorite dress made of tweed
A chain at her neck with a simple bead
Loving kindness was her creed
Drenched in thoughtfulness her every deed
The biggest heart kind to any breed
Elsa couldn’t stand to see any creature bleed
Cautious steps not to crush spider or centipede
When Elsa’s turn was up for vacation, no need to plead
She chose her dream destination easily indeed
All wished Elsa a heartfelt Godspeed
And off went Elsa to visit the Calgary stampede
She was impressed with how it was refereed
And how the bulls got their revenge with speed
As it was humans who most needed to heed
Elsa would be back it was guaranteed

There once was a girl called Elsa
who was given a balloon for her birthday
It all went so swell
Then Elsa went and
let it go .let it go, let it go
