Premium MemberA Shipwrecked Heart's Lament

Written: January 24, 2025 for contest Sponsored by: Miranda Hawley

                      ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Refuse, to ignite fuse
Whispers weave, wild bruise
Faintly forced into mouthpiece
Child playing robbers - police
Shooting flute inside nose
The breeze seeking repose
Like egotistic carnival clown
Wander behind his frown
Hopes cowards trusted crime
Burned past reveals slime
Salty bitterness sprayed away
Shipwreck on frozen day
Comfort me into restfulness
Never forget next zestfulness
Climbing trees everyday fun
And laughing has begun
She easily admits to having many flaws,
has no humour except when writing about furry things with claws;
she has tons of poetic talent with her pen,
words just flow onto paper again and again.
Oh gosh, she has so much self-taught poetic skill,
I love her poems and her creative inspired quill;
and she can draw, paint and take photographs-  so artistic,
she wins lots of contest but is never, ever egotistic.
She has been my friend for years and we are stuck like glue,
I like how she is always looking for a hobby new;
she has many, many, many goals,
a list that is as long as the dead sea scrolls.
I never saw a person with so many different dictionaries,
told me she gets them as rejects from libraries;
she is always, always in a journal writing and writing,
but it is like another language when trying to read her handwriting.
I admire how she is always doing things to improve,
she lives her life her way and does not require anyone to approve;
she is forgiving, loving and kind,
and surrounds herself with friends of like mind.
Sweet Tears
You want freedom
Where tough times freeze
You entangle when love
Disentangle you the most
Where is trust killing you
When nobody is believing
Does it cause you pain
If it suffer your egotistic nerve
Will you still go on life
When no one at your side
You said you love me
And now you are not that be
You failed me, hoping so you change
But now promises you've made
Is now null and void
What life is there all therein
But ingratiate and ungratefulness
This deathbed is sweet tears
To never love again.
  Politicians will be the end of me.
  To cynical now to trust their lie!
  To angry now to listen to:
  Continuous disharmony,
  Pointed conversations,
  Loose denominations.
  Finding flourishes,
  As the mouth,
  Drivels,
  Contagonistic,
  Voyeuristic,
  Egotistic,
  Unrealistic!
  Politicians will be the end of me!
  Polecats in harmony,
  Conversations without relations!
  Christian living,
  Without forgiving!
Iposhii
I'm not gonna cry
I'm fresh outta tears
at least that's sincere
at least that's sincere
aint much to do
all the work is done
we had alotta goodtime
we had a lotta fun
long as everything's alright
that's all that matters tome
can't make you love me
no one ever could
aint nothing to talk about
And I don't wannabe misunderstood
you and I
are the reason
we are apart
it could break your lovers heart
it was you
and it was me
he came along
cause he wanted to be
that somebody
an egotistic thing
loved over all
the man of her dreams
But let's get real
Let get it right
let keep it real
God Wins
They are talking about World War III
How stupid are these men?!
What if we ignore them…
What would happen then?
Would we be so foolish
to disregard the threat?
Should we feel alarmed
from those we never met?
The worst of men, all them
to justify the cause…
Oh, they will save all our lives
with some violent wars???
They think we have no power
They think we’re all the same,
They think that they will win
with their wicked game!
How silly are these men
to perceive they’re great,
egotistic and sadistic
filled with bitter hate.
Here I have no worries
Here I have no doubt
When demons keep on stirring…
God will take them out!
Self Actualize
Darkness falls into endless sleep
Ego spawns, grows to overleap
This dark enemy gloats with glee
A silent death I shall be free
Demons expose the tools of use
With great happiness, self abuse
As if to be an open quay
A silent death I shall be free
Angst of worried despair and grief
There is no end nor no relief
Torture oozes from this emcee
A silent death I shall be free
To kill this ego deep inside
My focused mind becomes clear-eyed
Filled with peace, joy and so much glee
A vibrant life I shall be free
Context
Be like water - still, calm or move rapidly with momentum to bring fresh life.
Even the egotistic ocean of wild seas soon settles to be greeted by the warmth of the sun.
Mirror and Us
Who looks in the mirror
is no longer abandoned
find a companion in him...
If in it our wrinkles appear
and if he  shows us elder,
That's because it happens to him too...
If he (mirror) that is so egotistic
tell us!
- Look how wrinkled you are!
Tell him too!
that you are not alone...
- Look in another mirror and you will realize!
- It's true that we are similar!
Premium MemberMy Plea
My Plea
This my plea O world
That drags the dream of peace
Through the mud of wickedness
Rise
From the egotistic slime to wash away
Self-centered muck
Loosen
Your profane feet of clay
From self-absorbed quick sand
Break through
The entitled self-interest of the arrhythmic heart
To the steady beat of the heart of all hearts
Release
Sludge filled veins of self-importance
To freely flow with innocence’s compassion
Lift up
The hands smothered by erupting ashes
Of the shameless vicious with sympathy
Immerse
Self-seeking vanity of the starving soul
Into the Samaritan’s fountain
Transform
The narcissistic selfie flower
With unfettered grace
This my plea for peace, O world
Sing the dream of dreams vision
Pray the prayer of prayers hope
Speak the speech of harmony
Live the life of peace.
Premium MemberEarth's Tears
" Oh, you thoughtless and egotistic creatures that
call yourselves humans.
You, that are daily complaining of the floods that
inundate, your  lands, your cities, your streets, and
your homes.
Have you not yet understood that all this water is
nothing else but my tears caused by the pain
inflicted by your blasphemous and barbaric ways upon
my, once fertile and pristine face? "
Thus spoke mother earth and then released her tears!
Malnourished Hearts
I want to discover a new way to balance on the tightrope.
I don’t want to push forward,
Nor do I want to roll backwards.
I surely can’t stay in one place for too long as they say,
But who hardly has time nowaday’s to rot at this time of age and wait for the grim reaper to stamp the big red “decay” onboard our faces?
It’s so unusual to walk backwards on my hands near the unknown.
Perhaps moving side to side will sub-due for now,
Until I falter to the choices of my extemporaneous circumstance.
I hate it when a old saying that is so bland & bleak such as,
"What came first, the chicken or the egg?"
Picked and rot out the black caged doves brains so intensively.
I say it was the soul that resided within the body & not the body forming around the soul.
Well of course they would react the way that they did,
After all, they’re impure imitations of false angels.
Without further notice,
If you are only keen to the idea of viewing our redundant self-loathing behavior in a black or white demur for the rest of your lively days,
You’re hurting your egotistical mindset and malnourishing your heart.
Champagne and Old Movies
I see it in your eyes at times
the toll it all has taken
the illusions you fell for
your hands passing through
projections of people
reaching out for them to find
they were never there
their hearts elsewhere
feeling the bruises on your back
from their footprints
after they used you as a stepping stone
to where they thought the lights shone
brighter
I’m nobody
no femme fatale turning heads
a simple scribbler of words
that I hope a few may find meaningful
certainly not at all what you’re used to
I see through the banality
the superficiality
the egotistic, narcissistic morass
Someone that would rather be
appreciated over celebrated
A cozy pajamas and fuzzy slippers
on a cold winter’s night
drinking cheap champagne
watching old movies
wrapped up in a warm fluffy blanket
cuddling on the couch
kind of girl
but if you were to reach out
to touch me
I’d be there
Ego
Thy shall wilt for the blame of the pain put forth onto others that has been caused out of malcontented pettiness.
Soon thy will realize his errors but due to his conceited ways eating at his raw unhabitable consciousness,
He chooses to not come forth to repent for his snobbery egoism that has caused many to fall behind in an endless amount of wallowing due to his lack of acknowledgment from his actions.
His cordis could never express such a vague emotion for,
It does not pump blood rather more so of a void fulfilling masterpiece to hide his efforts to believing he is a better human being.
Does thy even see & feel the way we all see?
A demon in a true disguise that always tries to comprise his dealings with one another,
Yet fail to see another dawn of light to change,
For shame.
His Flaws
Where his loyalties lay is not with me
therefore I think he’s untrustworthy,
Strong feeling of support absent
from a bond that was well meant…
Though that’s OK ‘cause I don’t trust anyone anyway.
Compromise he was not taught
empathy is near to naught,
No middle ground, no give or take
agreeance on he does forsake…
Though that’s OK ‘cause I don’t depend on anyone anyway.
Egotistic, boastful, vain
selfish for to only gain,
Don’t understand what's in his brain
though comprehend he won’t explain…
Though that’s OK ‘cause I love myself anyway.
To shed some light upon his flaws
know the kind and the cause…
To learn from him and awaken
much of him I have mistaken...
Though that's OK 'cause I'm only human anyway.
A Display of Exposition
A huge swing, swirling into unknown, burying whims one by one
A droplet of tear touches a  small hand, a tiny world in reflection
Its silent roar touches a faded glory, a forgotten dream of a long lost song
I see lights in darkness, as  you said, dreams do not spellbound life for long
Zero balance of zero hour, a math of a balanced ebb of egotistic foolish try
Burned out soul of ashes still utter for yet another chance, another huge cry
mon rêve depuis longtemps oublié! Signature of time tricked in a strange way.
Gipsy clouds won’t wait for a fossilized past , disasters of a blackened dismay,
Still remains , an undecided moment , the beginning of an inevitable lullaby
Life is nothing but a vanishing story, an effort of  chapters soaked in wishful try.
Alarm  of reality never derail a dreamer, quite a success in his long expedition
I will meet you there, my empty box of soothing dreams, a display of exposition.
