Today is Hot

Today is hot; tomorrow, not.
This summer’s been like this a lot.

It’s tough to know which way to go
When making outdoor plans and so,

You must choose twice, that’s my advice,
For just one thought will not suffice.

A lovely hike, which you might like,
Won’t work if temps begin to spike

And pouring rain would be a pain
And cause all parties to complain.

An indoor spot when it is hot
Might be the best choice you have got.

A place to start is where there’s art
Or dinosaurs to tell apart

Or go to eat on any street,
For that can always be a treat.

Once plans are made, don’t be afraid
To change them if your mind’s been swayed

By Nature’s kinks or sidewise winks,
Since that won’t help at all, methinks.

Premium MemberYELLOW

YELLOW
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Yellow stars are quickly receding, as I’ve always known they would.
Yellow is the sun touching the eastern sky adding color to the neighborhood.
Yellow is the warmth of mellow sunshine, mid woodland songs and cries.
Yellow is the egg yolk and buttery toast I eat on the porch watching butterflies.
Yellow is the morning of marigolds and sun, watching as the magenta finally fades.
Yellow is the frenzied canary who sits upon my rooftop and stays.
Yellow are the wheat fields underneath transparent, cerulean skies.
Yellow are the gigantic sunflowers standing at attention, vigilant sentries with black eyes.
Yellow are those scented hours, wishing they would never end,
Yellow is the beauty of seasonal colors upon which I’ve learnt to depend.
Yellow are nature’s melodies played on a loop celebrating the rising sun.
Yellow is this memorable day of days with its treasured life hardly begun.
Eat On Time
Empty heart is better
Than empty stomach
Stomach acid hurts
More than heartache
Let's have breakfast
Lunch, snack and dinner
Never escape eating on time
So no more heartache and pain.
I like them better than big cake
Because I am the only one to eat on mine
or dig in it or mess with it
Cupcakes so tasty and sweet
Premium MemberBroccoli 2
By Michael Liguori and Robert Liguori
Dagwood Bumstead
Probably has been in the company of broccoli
We know that he and Blondie like to Eat
Tarzan most likely has been in the company of broccoli
Especially in the Jungle, everything grows there
Batman and Robin eat on the down low, they have probably seen a little cold broccoli when fighting Mr.  Freeze
the cast of Archie Bunker often eats on the show
Do they love broccoli?
I do not know
Ask Meathead when you see him
I want to know who reading this adores broccoli
You can eat broccoli, so many different ways,
Broccoli likes to float in cheddar cheese soup it seems
Has anyone ever put barbecue sauce on broccoli?
How about deep fried breaded broccoli
Then dipping it in a bowl of barbecue sauce
Wouldn’t that be fantastic?
And so healthy!
I have on occasion eaten barbecue ribs
Made for me by the local Asian market place
Delicious
Is a barbecue rib the same thing as breaded deep fried broccoli covered in barbecue sauce?
No, I don’t think so
Because I just invented breaded, deep-fried, barbecue broccoli
Wow, doesn’t that read as deliciousness !?!
Premium MemberIn the Grass
My name is Yù míng
Jade brightness is what it means
I’m a Praying Mantis and we look like string beans
I jump about the grass to chew up flowers, leaves
and stems of plants between the trees
It’s only these I eat, on insects I will pass
I never tire of living in the grass
Twigs and leaves I’ll rest up on in my new Eden
Of all the paths I came up on I choose your lovely garden
An evening serenade, a blusterous chirping song
My wings are light and striking as I glide along
Today I move on, but still the same regime
I'll creep between the grass blades gently and so feminine
I do the Praying Mantis pose it comes naturally
It’s a yoga stance, and they named it after me!
Rip Society, Return If Possible
What have you done to those you swear you care
They're flooded with mud and burden they bear
Killing and dying in stealing they go
For that's the example you're living to show.
Where are the promises you broadcast those times?
When running for a position with you're jingles and rhymes
Breaking the rules and making a new
Approving all those that favors to you.
When did you heard the cries of the crowd
You ride in fancy cars and walk so proud
You dont even mind to open windows and see
How polluted and sad this society can be.
How did you manage to eat on your plates
Drinking expensive wines with the rest of your mates
Look outside and witness how your countrymen die
In every way, every time, every street they pass by..
It doesn't make sense, nothing for better was change
You even made things worse while staying your range
Formally dressed nonsense selfish idiots
Your s are crueler than life leaving riots.
Premium MemberSummer Sands and Sister Stars
Don’t you adore warm sand betwixt your toes?
You ponder summer’s rainbowed tinted clothes.
How we long to eat on the beach, and family and friends
That summer treat. seems it never ends!
Usually a friend brings his melodious guitar.
We sing melodies under celestial stars, afar.
Pretzels
Pretzel Poem
                                            By: Bryce Husband
         The perfect, none filling, bite size snack, perfect for anytime lounge,
Goes with any drink and has its own unique flavor with its own texture.
          Perfect to take with for traveling, and a eat on the go snack,
The amazing addictiveness when eating just one makes you grab more.
         A healthy alternative for unhealthy chips, that you can’t get enough of,
My without a doubt favorite snack that I crave for every day, pretzels.
Premium MemberFall Deep Into Autumn
Flamboyant, fabulous fall waits in the wings
As sultry summer gradually winds down,
Losing strength to chilly changes September brings,
Leaving lovers of long hot days wearing a frown.
Delights await those who favor fall.
Exciting festivals and special days
Enliven our spirits. Outdoor scenes enthrall,
Pleasing the eye with vast, colorful arrays,
Inspiring, serving as poet’s and painter’s muse.
Nature lends progressively less daylight.
Trick-or-treaters have cute costumes to choose,
Ornate orange bags or buckets—adorable sight--
And sweets to eat on Halloween night.
Umber earth is rendered white by frost, then snow.
Thanksgiving feasts and football are November fare.
Ultimate fall plans center around coming yuletide glow.
Merry Christmas! Gather; gifts and blessings, share.
Now winter waits with a new year in tow.
Vanity
Oh! How great our existence is only a rolling ball,
We're birthed to
Cry by self at birth or forced to cry.
Suck and dependent,
Start talking and mingle,
Crawl and dependent,
Walk by self or force to walk,
Dine and eat on parent's bill,
Attend schools or go vocational,
Graduate and work,
Search and date,
Wedding introduction and marriage,
Or decide to remain single,
Enjoy life or otherwise.
The stage of total independence.
Religious or diabolical,
Ruled by greed or selflessness,
Give birth or barren,
Grow gray and agile or weak,
Then several symptoms set in,
Get from children or being totally ignored.
Back to the total dependence,
Suck from the past fruits,
Weak and die,
That all mourn and cry.
Vanity upon vanity
All is vanity so says the wise.
The Oppresor
You frightening firmly plaza
The city well known threatening monster
The known high cost selling plaza
The cry of the poor masses,
You subject them to wear tartared clothes,
To eat, on rainy morning you will see them peasant,
Drenched in their robes, with hoe fitted on their shoulders,
On the scorching sunny day they worked for you, yet no reward they get,
You are the Leviathan, the beast
You come like in human clothing still a monster,
You make still-born promises, to deceive and delude,
You take what does not belong to you,
You play injustice and calls it justice,
You trick the people to believe that you are for then,
You the taker of the voiceless joy
The misery of the people
The persecutor of the nation
 The bad government of our state
When we remember you our hearts flee to exile
The chaos, the turmoil and violence of our provinces,
Tell me!
When will we wear sleeves?
When shall we sleep and wake up in peace?
What have we done to you?
Premium MemberCity Life
Your day starts in disheveled chaos:
you shower, skip breakfast, and eat on the run.
Chasing down a crowded bus:
you gulp down a cold coffee,
and follow the herd to work.
You gripe and curse city life:
while, all the while, you love it.
Like a rhythmic heartbeat:
the pulse of the city;
lets you feel you're alive.
And through veiled anonymity
in the shadows, you enjoy peace of mind.
And modern amenities;
make city strife all worthwhile.
Here, one can dine on chef-inspired cuisine
or choose to eat at a fast-food joint.
Each rung higher up success's ladder,
brings your dreams one step closer to fulfillment.
Opportunity seldom
ventures far from the city:
that's why you choose to stay
despite fighting the traffic every day.
Premium MemberDance By the Fire
Dance by the Fire
My dear, my dear, I fear…
It has been years and years.
I will not let that stop me.
The candle in the window is lit.
The children are gone…
home.
The lights on the tree, sparkle.
The scent is a mixture of can pine,
and Golden candle?
(You took me to the candle store…
I tried to pay attention. I was lost, as I will be,
even more so, when you are not here, with me.)
Leave the dishes, I will do them.
I will throw them out. I don’t care.
We will eat on paper plates, or I will buy…
new fine china…
I don’t care, I am Fred Astaire.
Come here my love,
I long to have you in my arms.
The logs crackle down low, but I am not done.
I will kick it back up, unless you are tired.
That is okay.
Then we can dance slower,
and I will hold you up against…
me.
I will never let you fall.
I would fall for you,
further…
If God would,
just let…
me.
The Dragonfly That Caught My Eye
Such beauty and speed
Large eyes with two pair of wings
Life is short only six months
Seeing almost 360 degrees around
With top speeds of 18 MPH
On this earth 300 million years ago
Imagine how many dragonflies that would be
They can catch and eat their prey
Without even landing they eat on the run
Their eggs they lay in water some stay up to six years
The United Kingdom was their 1st sanctuary in 2009
I thank you for giving theses amazing insects a home
