Premium MemberOur Easter Bunny was a Woman

Our excited Easter Bunny was a woman this year
She popped in and threw eggs around, full of cheer
She has quite a fluffy tail, my daddy said
Mommy gave him a look that nearly struck him dead

The eggs she left were decorated in glitter with touches of gold
Some were vintage in green art deco, others just looked old
We ate the ears and heads off our chocolate bunnies right away
This will be a great day! I heard my grandma say

She was heading to the kitchen to fix us potatoes and ham.
No one can cook better than our favorite cook, Grandma Gram.
Mommy followed her in, probably to learn her secret recipe.
I already knew it, for she had shared it with me.

Daddy said “isn’t it time for church?” I ran up those stairs
For my new Easter frock was gorgeous; I put on airs
You are a beauty, Grandma said. What a gorgeous dress!
At the church we said a prayer for Daddy, for he is a mess.

He’s a good mess, Grandma said. Afterall, he is her son.
And he is my hero, my Daddy, and a lot of fun.
He would have a difficult time sitting silently here.
Church is not for my chatty loud Daddy dear.

Premium MemberBrother Rabbit

Brother Rabbit, tell me please
When will the hard times end?
Will the hell on earth increase
To a no man’s land?
Quiet life is my conviction
Totally predictable
Time goes by, in benediction
Of the daytime rituals
Last night I went up the hill
I could see for miles
Moonlit path across the field
Under the starry skies
Were you there, I can’t say
Either I’m not sure
If you heard my little pray
You are so demure
I don’t seek a golden fleece
I wasn’t wired to fight
Brother Rabbit, share some peace
Send it through the night
Not a calm before the storm
But a storm no more
Peaceful living, like a norm
Shielded by the law.

Premium MemberBlood- Red Dawn

A crimson tide o'er Golgotha ascends
No chalice held, a sacrifice.
The Holy Week
a shroud that slowly rends.
Mourning flocks
adrift from faith's secure fold.

A traitor’s kiss,
a friendship bought and sold.
Peter's denial,
a love that cannot mend.
A crown of thorns
a cruel and mocking crowd.
The weight of sin on Christ
Savior, true friend.

Through Gethsemane's forsaken
shadowed mire.
He trod
a steadfast soul
with love's eternal fire.
His final breath
a lamented prayer
a ragged cry.
A promise etched in every gasping sigh.

From darkest night
a radiant dawn shall rise.
Redemption’s hymn
a dove
takes to the skies.

Though flesh may fail
love’s covenant remains.
A chalice brimming
hope never dies
 breaks the chains.

Premium MemberEASTER

Even a fool, when he holdeth his peace is counted wise:
And he that shutteth his lips is deemed a man of understanding
Seek the lord while he may be found
Trust in the lord with all your heart and lean not to your own understanding
Even a child is known by his doings
Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer

Even though I am of sin he gave his life for me
Angels are my guardians guiding and praying
Somber days come and go and tests some I fail
Tribulations lord knows well, he save me from hell
Enjoying blessing of Easter, hearts and joy from above
Remembering to serve my master and to return his love

The first six lines are quotes from these bible verses:
PROVERBS 17:28
ISAIAH 55:6
PROVERBS 3:5
PROVERBS 20:11
ROMANS 12:12

An Easter Prayer
(Esoteric Meaning of Christmas)

Let not the sun rise so high
that I may never again reach
its light --

nor set so low
that my spirit now resides
in darkness, irretrievable

but let me dwell peacefully,
balanced, in a new body of humanity,
a purified vessel, that of the risen Christ
– live outright redeemed,
one with God and His good
angels,
ever loving.

Premium MemberA Glorious Easter Dream

To dream…..

Of how I can put a smile on another
human’s face.
And not be one groveling in media
and it’s sad disgrace!

To make a genuine difference in this
violent world.
Not a lost soul, caught in hideous
political,lies and swirls!

The world knows not, that this is Holy
Saturday.
It honors dishonest men,and punishes
the good~vanquish them with your
blessings in every way.

He Called Me Lazarus
Miracle Man
2/22/2023

Good morning Lazarus,
were his first words voiced.
Then immediately with tears,
my eyes began welling.
Twas one day past Easter,
and I sat there unvoiced.
Thoughts rushing from my heart,
that were compelling.

He was referencing the day,
God had rescued me.
I think back on this time,.
when prayer warriors pleaded.
Then from the pangs of death,
“Miracle Man” came to be.
God’s hand during this time,
was not to be impeded.

As advanced years whisper by,
God grants me recall.
Of the destiny that brought,
 this time into being.
The Widow Maker and S.C.A.
did both on me befall.
But God had a purpose,
far beyond my seeing.

Prayer After Easter

I
Do we tire of thanking & gratefulness
I rush about, busy growing stress
Refocus eyes upon the Cross, Jesus
I cannot pray unless I fully CONfess

II
A life, assume it's based on a lie
What matters but I'm happier, fire
Of Love, sacrifice, kindle and light
Up my children's faces, of my wife?

III
Apologetics poses: Jesus is liar, lunatic
Or the real ENCHILADA. Zero untruth
In one who never sinned on OUR earth
EASTER proves He left the tomb, defeated death
Thank You for a taste of soul success, fearlessness

Premium MemberMy Theology

MY theology was formed when Mother taught me the Lord's Prayer.

YOU and I know that what's good for mother is good enough for us.

THEOLOGY, defined as the study of God, is made simple at Calvary.

HE, God Almighty, clearly defines theology for all mankind at Calvary.

ETERNITY'S long-awaited secret is revealed and offered to all at Calvary.

OBJECTIONS are overruled, not sustained; sin's curse is sealed at Calvary.

LOVE defeats and obliterates both Satan's lies and deceit at Calvary.

OVERREACH by Satan and organized religion proves fatal at Calvary.

GOD was in Christ and reconciling the world to Himself at Calvary.

'YES' is God's forever word of guaranteed acceptance at Calvary.

Premium MemberA Prayer of Gratitude

Oh Lord, God of Israel,
Thou art also my God.
Thou hast created the heavens and the earth,
And all things therein.
There is nothing in Heaven, or above, or below,
That can compare with Thee.
Thou hast been my companion, when I had no companion.
Thou hast been my protector, when I was beset by my enemies.
Thou hast given me sustenance, when I was in need.
Thou hast healed all my ills and sufferings,
Forgiven me my transgressions,
And called me, Friend.
Thou hast paid the price that bought me out of slavery,
And certain death, and called me, Thy Child.
Truly, Thou art the need that all hearts cry out for.
I love Thee, but most important, Thou hast loved me,
Beyond all measure, when no one loved me.
Keep me My Lord, forever unto Thy Self,
And make me pleasing in Thine eyes.

Premium MemberAn Easter Poem

For forty days and forty nights,
Christ stayed out in the desert.
Weak from fasting and tempted by the devil,
He cried out to His father in prayer.
What suffering the Son of God endured.

Later in a garden he prayed too.
Taking on Himself the sins of mankind,
He wept and also bled
from every pore of His precious body.
What suffering the Son of God endured.

His own disciples couldn’t stay awake
watching over Him that painful night.
They fled when He was captured.
One even had betrayed Him just for silver coins.
What suffering the Son of God endured.

Whipped over and over again most cruelly
with lashes that cut deep into His skin
while being mocked and having
a crown of thorns placed on His head,
what suffering the Son of God endured.

Forced to carry the heavy cross
on which the Romans nailed Him up to die,
Jesus prayed a final time, while giving freely
His sacred life for all who simply would accept Him.
What suffering the Son of God endured.

Confetti filled eggs a traditional part of Easter

An early rise before the sunrise, brief
prayer relief to fill a slow cooker with corn beef,
carrots, potatoes and cabbage.
Proud of myself I didn't damage
the homemade yeast rolls. I took one last shameless flirt
at the chocolate mousse for dessert.

Relieved my grandson and granddaughter
right in the middle picked up their grandfather
from the hospital. Afterwards, no refrain
for a hunt of confetti filled Easter eggs after a fresh rain.

No need to explain
grandson drove back to college
to glean more knowledge.
