An Easter Prayer

An Easter Prayer
(Esoteric Meaning of Christmas)

Let not the sun rise so high
that I may never again reach
its light --

nor set so low
that my spirit now resides
in darkness, irretrievable

but let me dwell peacefully,
balanced, in a new body of humanity,
a purified vessel, that of the risen Christ
– live outright redeemed,
one with God and His good
angels,
ever loving.

The middle course is the best suited stance... not too high or low..... with a kind of peaceful balancing to become ultimately a 'purified vessel' like the risen Christ. Your poem emphasizes the need for a renewal in spirit. Very deep dear Joe.

I find that the middle, balance, is my place in time, for I cannot reach nor comprehend the perfect, nor could I thrive in the depths of complete despair, isolated from my moderate sense of goodness. I survive and prosper only by the Loving Grace of God.

Life is far more complicated than most of us can image...and yet, so simple that a child can liken to its mystery.
