Djibouti

Djibouti, Djibouti
shake that booty.
grab that looty
Somalian pirate.
Djibouti, Djibouti.
another Somalian
washed up on shore
for sure their Somalian
I can tell because they said so.
Djibouti, Djibouti.
This, is a crafting table

Sand promises

“Thousands of desperate migrants die in the desert and at sea, or fall victim to murderers and kidnappers, as they make their way along the ‘eastern corridor’ from Ethiopia to Saudi Arabia” - Fred Harter in Obock, Djibouti
------------------------------------------------------
Ethiopia through Djibouti
to Yemen, to hopeful life
runs Sun's angry route

A glum path to escape poverty
impulsive one-way journey
fear strengthens patience

keepers turned exploiters to smugglers
dump or sell or kill their dreams
new brokers fill hopes

shifting sand promises shift their goals
'Selling hair to purchase a comb'
no turning now, walk

starved, extorted, violated, yet
hearsays goad guileless hearts
burying truth, lies march

I love Djibouti
I want to duet with you
Do you know the alphabet starts with P
In philosophy
the variable Q, then too
Or the slang for a cop? dirty screw
Can you be on the fence?
No, your either for or against
And while you may show partiality
There is no neutrality, it’s a fallacy
And finally, to love, what is it?
If you’re not sure, it’s exquisite
Inquire within

The Venice door

That's the Venice door showered with beauty!
Where loneliness is daily on duty,
By its side, a small pool just sailed two boats,
The occupants are most probably ghosts,
If they're humans, they must be real cuties.

First I saw of this was in Djibouti,
But that was left decrepit and sooty,
So, for elegance that beauty denotes;
That's the Venice door!

The decorations are made quite pretty,
It's like from a last century movie,
Flowers even near the pool that boat floats,
It's the clean surrounding that makes wealth gloats,
Stamps of opulence colors it pretty,
That's the Venice door!

I know a comedian named Rudy
Had a gaggle of fans he called 'Cuties'
    New jokes his Cuties offend
    Which Rudy never intends
So Rudy hawks crosses in Djibouti

No Cossacks charge down Arc de Triomphe
Champs Elysée hourra! in triumph
For World Ruler no less
Come to check French prowess
World rivets eyes according to Gumph

Here the Seine rises not to greet Trump
Nor the Eiffel Tower lean in slump
Loose tract of Arctic ice
Bound for US in vice
Great Leader returns to rule vast swamp

At last the World will groan all alone
At Djibouti PRC horns blown
Will Marines take over
From Great Landless Leader
Thus ends Climate Change Treaty in clone !

A Land Uknown

O’ my Djibouti you sight nothing like a sky
Your ways far more old than the sea beds
If words be told, why then spoken mute no
If signs be cajoled, your days be flourished
You have seen variant colors, red, blood
But no tune or thy oil land rejoiced thee
And in many forms invoke thy true past
Yet thy splendor culture ever prolong
That even the farthest man urge a visit
My Djibouti when you breathe, thy sand skid
And yet by Allah, you deepen my love
As long as the wind of Joura blows a tune
Your existence will always be in love
Like the years of an unknown star
