Dimming Poems - Poems about Dimming

Heavenly Host

Fading away as the days
dwindle down to a dismal few
I'm still grinning
what more can I do
my head's spinning
eyes dimming hair thinning
but if the devil's in the details
he drives a hard bargain
and if heaven's like a five-star hotel
with 'Welcome' on the mat
remember when beginning
your final innings
there'll be no winning
when you're up at bat

You are a treasure, sitting in the empty theater, under lights slowly dimming,
You wait for the screen to gather dust and for rust to settle,
The plays are woven from the hands of talents, just for your curious eyes,
Shimmering dresses and perfect scenes crafted for your sincere approval.
"Madam, are you happy?" they ask after every happy

cancer
they said the lesions proved
so I decided to
"rage
against the dying
of the light" *
climb mountains
swim rivers
pedal dirt roads
until...
 ...it went away
or never was...
 ...nevertheless
since then
when I forget
stumble
or fall
or just sense life dimming
I remind myself
to rage

Premium MemberDimming Reminiscence

I delight in your twaddle inside me, young girl.
Restore the golden-pink gleam with a swirl.
Memories of who've died or are close to dying.
Delve deep, according to inner-child supplying.

Taking apart each self that has been dark-dyed
Then, closely dig up the shimmering past's side.
Until we draw a kinder rainbow hue, we must wait.
Vacant space below crops and

Dimming Sunlight

A dimming sunlight disappearing
Day now has become the midnight sun
Walking in the shadows of daylight
With trees bountifully standing
Sounds becoming whispers of the night
Thought’s wondering with fear
With snow cuddling the trees
As the deer walk among the moonlight
Leaving only footprints for the hunters they fear
Wishing for the sun to reappear
To lay asleep hidden among the trees

Safe without

The Dimming Heart

The Dimming Heart

My heart is heaving and dashing
Like the roll of a vessel
On a merciless sea.
Fate gives generous impulse
To commotion and conflict
As I speed through the flowers of life.
My desires and sensuous lust have become
Mere misty phantoms of passion
That are fading and dying away.
My life is a river flowing free
Destined for a grave
So silently.

Last Deer Hunt

It comes back to me in solemnity,
and I wistfully wish it wouldn't.
A willful case of killing it was—
a hunter doing what he shouldn't.

Father had taken me deer hunting,
thinking to make a man of a boy.
I prayed we wouldn't see a deer.
and we didn't—not one—such joy!

Daylight was dimming to dusk
when he said our hunt had ended.
We

Where love's ember pranced inside

A Dimming Sky

I stand amidst a dimming sky,
adorning nigh my wandering eye.
Serene it seems to feel autonomous.
Though: yet and still remains annonymous,
the one who holds my heart fain.
I wait in silence where my soul has lain,
for her alluring anatomy to enter my gaze.
Only to cherish as an angel throughout my days,
and never shall i go awry.

Dimming Dreams

So scared to peak…fears further grief
Lights, she dims, a glance so brief
Womanhood stripped-callous thief
Dreams are dimmed, hopes attune
Cold marquee provides no relief
Her name stripped far too soon
