Dimming Sunlight

A dimming sunlight disappearing
Day now has become the midnight sun
Walking in the shadows of daylight
With trees bountifully standing
Sounds becoming whispers of the night
Thought’s wondering with fear
With snow cuddling the trees
As the deer walk among the moonlight
Leaving only footprints for the hunters they fear
Wishing for the sun to reappear
To lay asleep hidden among the trees

Safe without fear

This poem captures all my senses, especially like the play of light and dark, and warm and cool. Also the fear and peace of the deer. Reminds me much of my fave most famous poet Wendell Berry’s Wid Things poem(check out on YouTube!) Also really like your handling of the line breaks and carry overs. Thanks for commenting on my poem.
