Premium Member Wine in my Glass

Wine in my glass?
I would fall on my ……
I cannot imagine this
Not a sniff or a kiss

Maybe it’s just me
But wine would not be
A drink that keeps me awake
It knocks me out; even with steak.

I cannot imagine this at all
But I am not heavy or tall.
I cannot hold my liquor
With chocolate candy I would rather dicker.

Salt Lake Pity

A girl who drank too much liquor
Was accosted by Les Dicker
She sighed, "I'm so glad
That you'll be its dad
As Sam was quite a bit quicker!"

Gaol Bait

I saw a photo on flickr
Inviting the lads to liquor
Of course they could come
And ad libitum
Or go to gaol if they dicker!

Count the Cost

Always count the cost, be quicker
country bumpkins can be slicker.
Dare-devil journeys should be fun;
use good sense, don’t just hit and run.
Go for the gold, here’s the kicker -

When you go, stay off the liquor;
save a death watch for your vicar.
Don’t think that it’s your way or none,
always count the cost.

Decide what you want; don’t dicker;
though your buddies want to bicker.
Ponder all options one by one.
Then dive in, and when it is done
learn from mistakes and don’t snicker.
Always count the cost.

Pinch An Ear

O help me!  I've fallen
And I can't get it up!
I'm stuck here acrawlin'
Up a Double-D cup

Now don't let us dicker
I am over the hill
Just be a mite quicker
Slipping me that blue pill!

A Scary Happy New Year To You

Here we are at the close of the year and the start of another.
But, the coming years could be like no other.
Throughout this past year we debated and snickered
As the parade of candidates continued to dicker.

We were subjected to discourse we couldn’t believe
Bullying, name-calling, and lies meant to deceive.
And then there were wikis and secrets revealed
And who would have thought tax returns could be concealed.

Just as we thought there could be no end to it
There’s FBI revelations, Russian hacking and more bulls**t.
It was all weird and crazy stuff we’d never seen before
We cast our votes and prayed for a massive outpour.

We watched with hope as the results trickled in
And our hearts died a little at the impossible win.
How could it be? We were all so perplexed.
Half of us could only imagine what could possibly be next.

Happy New Year seems wishful and somewhat trite
But we have to be strong and brace for the fight.
For surely the systems which have long been in place
Will protect our values and the whole human race.

Envision Your Route 1

rondeau

Envision your route, it's quicker.
Like your crowds thinner or thicker?
Traffic can ruin a trip, no fun;
my choice - less-traveled paths, bar none.
country bumpkin / city slicker?

Long journeys can be a kicker;
on a bus, some snore, some snicker.
Think through your options one by one.
Envision your route.

Some folks will dally and dicker?
Others like to blame and bicker?
think ahead ere the trip's begun;
you'll be happier when it's done.
If you drive, don't drive on liquor,
envision your route.
