Deduct Poems | Examples

Premium Member Off the Top

He trimmed a bit much off the top,
but now they are putting a stop.
To settle affairs
he handed down hairs.
Get the shears!
Items lopped!

It’s what you call a bad hair day;
they say he has taxes to pay.
He’s under duress
from the IRS.
Deduct, yes?
Toupee, nay!

Premium Member Death and Taxes

Unto the earth below my end commences
for I have committed life’s last offences.
But not even death will save
me from taxes in the grave
and now I can’t deduct living expenses!

Better Angels Overcome All Fear

we wish would appear
better angels who are here
overcome all fear

what we would deduct
orchestra Lincoln did conduct
great final product

make sure self esteem
did not appear in your dream
be part of our team

interested in
trouble caused and where had been
Jackson of all men

with love God would anoint
we had reached a turning point
moment by moment

The Power of the Tron

The Power of the Tron

Said the Big Computer to the Human Computee:
“Without me, sir, you must concur,
Wherever would you be?
I tally all your numbers, and I even give advice,
Unlike you, I’m objective and predictably precise.

‘Way down my epicenter, I’ve a calculating brain
That can compile, compute, compound, expound, explore, explain.
Oh, don’t you wish you had my wits, if only an iota,
For I’ve more news than I can use -
I'm programmed to my quota.”

And on and on it carried on, continuing to scoff,
Until the Human Computee reached down and turned it OFF.

And now The Big Computer sits there idle all the day,
Without a boasting, bragging, calculating thing to say,
While on the chair, beside it there, the Human Factor lingers,
Computing trig and calculus by counting on its fingers,
And when its used its fingers up, it can simply transpose
And still deduce, deduct, add up, by counting on its toes!

Take heed, you Mighty IBMs, and other pedigrees,
Before you get too taken with your capabilities –
You may have stores of knowledge;
You may be an Alpha Tron,
But it’s the Human Digit
Ultimately
Turns
You
ON.

The Fifteenth of April
By Franklin Price

The fifteenth of April
Has been here come and gone
Every year at this time
I feel much as a pawn

Yesterday the game was over
Moved too slowly to the ax
For it was the last day
That I could file my tax

Hold on just a moment!
What's that now I hear?
They've extended until Monday
Must be Christmas time this year

So now I have the week-end
To fill out all those forms
I'll just sharpen up the pencil
And see how it performs

I'll take a little here and there
Deduct all that I can
Hopefully not have to pay
Not give my money to the man

At least I've got a second chance
To avoid a penalty
And to prove that death and taxes
Are always there and true for me

To what extent can there be room for free will
If what governs is the Principle Yang-Yin
Since the future can largely be told at will

Since the Yi Jing permits karma to fulfil
Good works compensate pitfalls one stumbles in
To what extent can there be room for free will

For the Principle to work there must be Evil
In living things with will embedded in the gene
Since the future can largely be told at will

At what stage can karma begin the peril
Quadrupeds sans will or when bipeds sin
To what extent can there be room for free will

Does karmic balance-sheet deduct influence ill
Parents environs victims of upbringing
Since the future can largely be told at will

None can be guilty as the mythic Devil
The game’s over what pardon when neither win
To what extent can there be room for free will
Since the future can largely be told at will

Through the Eyes of Death

Inside Araba bus, he lonely weep
No one show him sympathy, as i peep
Solititude ally i thought, but he uttered
'I give you the power to grant desired'

In his hand, a list of whom to die
And people's unanswered appeal, all tie
I look at the wishes of those before us
And those after us, I saw all their hearts

Their dark pact, and their motives
I checks everyone's wishes and strives
Their genius minds, their selfish secrets
Their inventions, what is left uncreate

Then my mind became useless
My friends, my enemies, are all heartless
I join him in his lonely weeping
With what i saw, Death is a blessing

No one showed sympathy toward us
As he insisted, added or deduct, a must
With what I saw, i granted no wishers
Wrote my name, to done in loneliness.

Am a Dreamer

AM DREAMER
it refers to a new type of HAIKU
.
.
.
I'm a dreamer, it's the fact
This is what I'm able to deduct
After looking at my special tract
My dreams are like seeds, protected by a bract
'cause I wanna shine, due to my powerful tact
.
.
.
I shall fly, like a shiny bright light
I'm gonna be, in the perfect sight
Am still hoping, and I want to fight
Until my dreams will be accomplished, to be allright
I stayed awake, awake overnight
You couldn't know how I feel, because it's so tight
And deep in my heart, isn't that right
.
.
.
Listen to me carefully, mate
There's no time for us to wait
Our dreams to be real, we'll be so late
We must get them out, 'cause they're innate
Yes you believe me, we're all able to change our fate

Air Sharks

There are many birds of prey
on any given day,
those that roam the skies above
seeking rabbit, squirrel, or morning dove.
But far away they stay
for what can harm these birds of prey.
Huge beasts made by hand
that take off and land.
Roaming first on the ground seeking humankind for that is their design.
Their bodies are fat and round
and inside them, their human cargo can be found.
Their wings holding powerful motors are long and thin
to lift the precious payload within.
Their noses are round and blunt
with eyes that can see on the sides, up and in front.
But it is their tail that gives them their name
whether ground cruising or stopped, it is the same.
So if you see a fin or two on the land it should be no surprise
for you could deduct and surmise.
An airport is where you will be,
looking from the inside or out you will see.
These fixed wing creatures first lumber then with a mighty roar
up in the sky they soar.
So next time you're waiting for a flight, look out and see
if with me you don't agree.
There are planes of various kinds but they're all Air Sharks

True Expressionists

As far as my mind can perceive, that which is all I have come to believe
Stands true to my soul, and as I grow old realizing there's more to be seen.

If you share same nature in feeling, and have courage enough not conealing
Then dont be afraid, express it in ways, assessing the cards god is dealing.

Trust that god in its general name, shows creater just what it has made
Wayward cultures confused, helpless people are used in the race to place all the blame.

You are brave enough to construct, true religion yet faux claims deduct
Then you'll see there is reason for changing of season, and "coincidence" isn't just luck.

Its whats positive that which I feel, and negative hits harder than steel
I find more joy from the up, so darkness gets fluxed and spirit steers better my wheel.

How did I possibly come to conlusion? obtain vision and not just illusion?
I read people like books, so when teachers tried to look I either embraced or gave
resolution.

Piss and Vinegar

piss & vinegar

“the kid’s gonna be full of
piss & vinegar,”
they might say,
when gathered round in a
family function &
watching the little one run amok,
or they might see her/him throw a ball &
deduct that the kid will certainly be a
famous football player,
or when the little one whines,
suddenly the rock star is born---
all of this resides in the dreaming mind of the
parent,
but means nothing in the great scheme of the
little one’s life to come,
for s/he will be everything that was never imagined &
part nurture, part nature,
there might be a chance,
if you’re lucky,
that s/he turns out
happy,
which is much more important
than any of the lives you wish you had led,
which you thrust on the life of
a kid whose barely begun yet.

Dipped In Batter

Calculate deduct deduce infer
Kiss the pigs until you’re sure
Let’s pretend I matter
Let’s pretend I’m dipped in batter

Equitable distribby
Puttin on the bibby
Let’s pretend I matter
Let’s pretend I’m dipped in batter

Accounting for naught
Without having fought
Let’s pretend I matter
Let’s pretend I’m dipped in batter

Matter I might
Batter-dipped that’s right
But one thing seems true
I’ll wind up in you

Ground-up gristle
Simmer bubble steam
A little oil please
Your culinary dream

Out of the pan
And into your department
Now I’m a bolus
In your compartment

Epigastric me
Satisfied you
Rich old you
Rich and true

Toilet-bound me
Nutty little me
Please flush me
But don’t forget me

Let’s pretend I matter
Let’s pretend I’m dipped in batter
