Happy Hurt Day

You’re gentle, judgemental,
A freak in sheep’s disguise
Yet in some ways you’re burdened by self sacrifice,
You’re obsessive, compulsive,
Afraid to let me go
You’re afraid of what’s left of you,
If you have not my hand to hold

You know I love you,
But it’s time to move on
Take a fall, and crash out, if I’m wrong
Be scared, I’ll hold you,
If again our paths may intertwine,
Someday you’ll see me smile,
But now is not your time

So I guess we have little left to say,
But happy hurt day,
Let’s eat our heart ache
We’ll bake ‘till we can’t feel
Lind’s eat your cupcake,
Made out of mistakes
Let’s wrap up what’s concealed

‘Cause it’s your birthday,
But not anymore
Since you chose the hurt held door
So happy hurt day,
Look, I baked you cupcakes
Blow out your candles,
Close the door

Premium MemberIn A Cocoon

The days keep going by,
and I am still left wondering why
you are no longer on this earth.
I remember the day I gave birth—
a tiny miracle captured my heart;
gazing at you, I never thought we would part.

My greatest joy was to see you grow;
now you are cold and resting below.
What an honour it was to be your mom;
your memory is like a balm,
soothing me during my darkest hours—
so thankful to call you ours.

Why is the pain so deep?
It brings me to my knees as I weep.
I like to believe that you are still nursing in God’s heaven,
bringing comfort I do not doubt for a second,
doing what came so naturally to you—
dressed as a nurse at two is the picture in view.

The calling you had shined brightly in your brown eyes;
I did not know that you would be saying goodbye.
Thank you, dear daughter, for the thirty years;
and now I am marking two years of your heavenly birthday, it appears.

How is it possible to keep on breathing,
or even finding meaning,
when you left too soon?
I should have wrapped you in a cocoon,
as you are wrapped tightly in my heart
since the very start.

Premium MemberLittle Girl

It hit me just today
I saw her in a whole new way
Birthday dinner, just her and I
A thought brought a tear to my eye
Has always been "my little girl"
Now she's about to face the world
Seen her grace of a woman before
Now seeing so much more
Just a girl of seventeen
Trying to find life and what it will bring
Overnight, a woman I see
Transformation into elegance and beauty

No longer a child to hold
She faces life with courage so bold
All grown up, she has no fear
Only memories remain of yesteryear

Last year to find herself true
Final shred of "little girl" for me to cling to
For soon she won't need mom anymore
When she walks through life's front door

So fulfilling- love to watch her grow
Still painful when I have to let her go
I know she is becoming the butterfly
Spreading her wings so she can fly

When I can't weather the storm
Many beautiful memories to keep me warm
This will help see me through
Into her future, she finally grew
She will always be a little girl to me
Her mother- I am proud to be

Painful Memories

Every day I wake up,
And every day I remember
The way you left me with no warning
Fleeing like a dog off its leash
It was my 13th birthday
I suppose that’s when fear settled in,
abandonment followed
Filling every pore of my body
Though this wasn’t the first time,
Definitely wouldn’t be the last
I only wish I knew,
What made you leave?
Was it me?
Was it because you thought I was better off without you?
Because I wasn’t
I wanted my father to love me, to see me, to hold me
But all I got was your absence
So, I let my imagination fill your role, because what else was I supposed to do?
It worked for a while, until I grew tired
I guess you did too
Now, I know why you didn’t look back
Or try to say goodbye
Gone in a flash

Premium MemberYoung Babe

A young babe was born in the middle of the month of May.
She lost her mother in a sad way days before her first birthday.
To this day and from now on we miss her in every single way.

Sally Scarlet

red letters on a desk with dust,
her birthday card
written perfecta —
water drop on paper;

‘to the leaf
i know will fall
but not too far,
please not too far’

flew in the breeze
leaf crumbled
like a fall of autumn —
first freeze.

killed everything
within me;
a zombie queen
of a necropolis of misery.

her plot is my home
under this blanket of grass,
with a petals kiss
sleeps a life.

the tree
instead
here with me
a butterfly flaps away.

Premium MemberDarcy

Eyes wide, beady blue. With skin of silk, pink and new. A pea-sized gift, oh how you grew.

You know me, and I know You.

Dimpled cheeks and Puckered lips, Glossy hair so dark and thick. The littlest chin curved into a dip.

The Lobes of your ears sit neat and dinky, I inhale your scent, so fresh and pure, I watch as you sleep and so peacefully snore.

I know now for sure; that motherhood is what I was made for. Finding my purpose to take care of you, A life fulfilled to my core.

Hello, Daughter whose name is Darcy.

Welcome to our family, we all will treasure, You will be loved endlessly, such a love without measure.

It will almost be time we head home. Two sisters await and sit excitedly together. Meeting each other for the first time ever is a moment I will cherish and remember forever.

Looking up at your mum, please feel no fear, as the sniffling tears you see and the crying you hear, are simply ones of joy that you are finally here.

Premium MemberHush Now

A moonchild under moon shadow,
hiding in the dark side of the
moon or darkness of the night, why?
Come out, come out and go under
the moonlight and see the bright
stars twinkling, like specks of gold
all over the clear night sky, pure
black like a soft warm blanket to
comfort you and make you feel
                    safe … hush now … shhhh …

Premium MemberDaughter's Birthday

A day like any other, yet so divine,
When you first breathed, and your life entwined with mine.
Years have passed, each moment a treasure,
Your growth and joy are beyond any measure.

From first steps to first words, I've watched you soar,
Each milestone is a gift I couldn't ask for more.
Your laughter, a melody that brightens my days,
Your curiosity leads you down in wondrous ways.

Today we celebrate not just your birth,
But the light you bring to this vast earth.
Your kindness, your spirit, your beautiful heart,
In this grand universe, you play a vital part.

Candles on cake, wishes whispered low,
Another year older, another chance to grow.
But know this, my darling, as certain as can be,
You'll always be that precious baby to me.

Your dreams are vast, your potential untold,
I'm here to support you, to watch you unfold.
On this special day, I just want to say,
I'm proud of you in every single way.

So blow out your candles, make a wish anew,
Remember always, my love for you is true.
Happy birthday, my daughter, my joy, my light,
May your year ahead be spectacularly bright.

Premium MemberBiography of Marina - a birthday poem for my mum

Marina, Motherina, Baba, Mum!
Reflect upon what your life has become:
Born in Harbin to refugee Russians,
Tossed out by Mao, with mild repercussions.

Aussie girl, country girl, raised by grandmas,
And grandpa and parents (both pains in her ****).
Small school, to high school with penguin-ed nuns,
Bespeckled and bikeless - childhood is done!

Went off to college at Melbourne Uni,
Made friends, stole a goat and earned a degree.
Entered the workforce for airliner doomed,
Later a teaching position assumed.

Married a beardy fresh in from Hungry
(also a Russian circuitously)...
Moved to the suburbs - East of the border,
Had a few children (not in that order).

Two in-laws out back, who helped with offspring,
Replaced by her mum, who started writing.
Son and two daughters, she raised to adult,
Some better than others - not all her fault.

Each offspring took flight, with their other half.
All but the youngest, who forged her own path.
Some grandkids were born, they grew up a bit,
Throw in some church stuff and that's about it.

Premium MemberTo Dad on his birthday

It's twenty fifth of May
Alas, you're miles away from me

flash back of mosaic memories
when i was in your sight
brings back scents of home
exuding like curry
from mom's kitchen
as you serenade her
with songs she used to sing
to make me sleep on rainy eve.

Oh Dad, with gratitude
on your birthday
this rouge roses I send,
tied with a rainbow
that will never end.

Premium MemberMilestone a daughter's 16th birthday

Today marks a milestone
Highlighting life's style shown
A classy, sophistication few women have ever known
An aura shining brightly that is all her own
No longer a child, into a woman she has grown
All the beauty, grace, & intelligence she has shown
Prepares her for the day she must stand on her own
Does she realize she will never face this world alone?
A mother's love is a strength that is written in stone
Forever, will a mother's bond remain a skipping stone
Guiding her daughter as she journeys into a world unknown
An elegant lady transcends from the childhood she has outgrown
Like a mighty Queen sitting atop her ornate throne
Anywhere is everywhere, captivating all places through which she has blown
An Angel, she rises above the challenges out of which she has flown
On a pedestal she will forever emanate radiance outshone
Destynee, an alluring beauty the world has never known

My Daughter Is A Dream Come True

My Daughter Is A Dream Come True

My daughter is a dream come true.
this kind of thing happens to very few.
I feel blessed to have her love and caring
as she is an angel always sharing.
her love is such that it changed my life,
and now my little angel has begun the journey to her own life.
the time may be changing but she is the same
so loving so caring that I have no words left to frame.
I just wish always she gets the best
and may God keep her always blessed
I love you my angel you are the best
my wish is to have you as my daughter again & again
as you filled my life with happiness & removed all the pain.
so wish you good luck and happiness throughout
my blessings are with you always without a doubt

My Daughter

My delight at the day's summit
My strength when despair looms
My happiness in every season
My daughter, my life

The morning sun's gentle rise
The rainbow midday's grace
The stars in the night's embrace
My daughter, my everything

Your lullaby voice is sweet
Your coming is pleasant
Your presence, a breath of freshness
My daughter, my entirety
