You measure by mass—
diamond resolve turning quietly,
its shape carved from silence,
creating shards of tension.
Light bending—crystallizing
in my shell, waiting to
crack open in the name of
weightless worth.

Soft flurry of snow, blown south to the sea,
brisk breath of Boreas breaks summer's stupe.
What strange, phantom dream here stands before me,
freezing river's course till it runs a loop?
How rapid the advance of blue-white ice-
crystallizing in my veins - no remorse!
Breath seizes at her sight - I drop the dice.
This cold snap - nothing better; nothing worse.
What right could I have - mad man of the marsh -
to harbor hope from latitudes higher?
Unseemly, uncouth, unwittingly harsh -
My spirit flickers as I watch her spire.
Yet, how could one complain, in summer's realm?
Such gift to see ice angels overwhelm ...

Lipstick Lips
Lipstick red lips on
Tombstone remains. Bloody red
Roses kiss the cold
Breath of death, crystallizing
Hearts overcome by the flame

he looks at her eyes
butterflies surf dreams within
strolling twilight beach
shooting stars make wish
Prince wakes up serene Snow White
something melts the night
stream of passion flows
non stop chimes of Cupid choir
crystallizing breath
backdrop of embrace
pearl in heart of oyster blooms
covenant of love

Legends be told, and written in tomes of a creature which roams the residence of the family: Lee-
Through shrubs and trees, though silent and unseen, it seeks seeds-
Ones of fire. Ones of sweet.
The creature seen only when: upon them, it feeds, simultaneously.
Its form of a boar with a tongue of alchemy, ignites in a spectrum of brilliancy. Hovering eyes remain but for a moment and weep vehement tears; crystallizing with the essence of harvest.

A meter off the ground - it was chilling to the bone
and they say high up the degrees drop
In a metal bird with conditioned air
forgotten are dreams of wanting to fly
I closed my eyes - could sleep fast-forward eight months?
we stepped down at the other end of the universe
The Earth was wearing white trees clinging on to green
in the middle of this I stood very blue
the sun turned bleak, gave into cold
all time spaced out last day seemed old
summer had waned - and for ever, it seemed
frosting fell before my eyes, crystallizing tears
salting snow nothing stays pure for long
I was stuck in a snow globe, wishing the white was pixie dust
(you can take home away from a person, you can’t take hope out of them)
They say new years let grow new hope
but withering winds breed fear alone
impatience in its veins and shoulders shaking
a spiritless shadow trailed
* * * * * * *
the ghost of a snowflake
settles on my glove
cold touch of a memory

beaching…
the rhythmic waves
frothing to and from
carry middle passage echoes
of journeying odysseys
the setting sun severs
the umbilical link
between motherland
and her children in diaspora
reflecting grains of sand
catch crystallizing tears
of memories of faded shores
the bleeding breeze blows
sea seasoned whispers
flowing from lost voices
from sea to shining sea
we’ve been anchored
chained and auctioned
never can slavery be
a metaphor for memory
as waves dissipate
at the shores of time
no matter what beaches
we roam
the shores still sing songs
stealing home.

Left It All Behind
Left it all behind!
hadn’t planned it
just sorta…. well…..
felt that shadow
creeping closer,
a chill……. following
my every movement,
an icy angst
crystallizing memory,
shades….. slowly drawing
on the windows
of the soul.
No ticket
No boarding pass
No tomorrow
Left it all behind.

As far as the eye can see, thunder roars with such fury in the horizon.
Beneath the sea sculpturing deep tints and shades of blue, briny crystallizing.
The tide draws away and breathes its curse.
Articulating its exaltation moving force,
manifesting and mesmerizing.
Bout gaits end with the striking off sound.
Airborne when all four are off the ground.
Breeze laced through his mane with pride.
Feeling the cold embrace, he draws a breath with every stride.
As the rain caress, fire burns inside, free its soul bound.

When earths abundant harvest, nature displays.
Then farmers will face, ever shortening days.
As wet days of summer, change to shivering chills.
Swirling light snow, veils those far distant hills.
With white hoar frost silvering, autumns dead leaves.
And long icy fingers, crystallizing on eaves.

A NATIVE SON’S SUNSET AT MO’BAY
As the sun kissed
the sea’s soothing bosom,
caressing waves splashed the shores
leaving spent froth
dissipating in the sand:
crystallizing aged memories
of sadistic slave ships once anchored here.

Vacant longing in a sacred bind
Broken by love’s flaw
Eyes spill jewels upon the kind
Taking all . . . taking all
Kiss a drop of falling rain
Rising over the fears
Yank the warmth out of the pain
To welcome yester-tears
It was never about me,
Just falling around me
Rejoice with me as they take me all
And as I descend,
As I descend to face the night,
Know that my end, know that my end
Is your beginning
Chilled to the aching bone
You pick up remnants of the past
Far from home
Where all the emptiness blooms and lasts
Don’t crawl back to me in all your pain
Don’t pick up the crystallizing rain
Run, for my life never mattered
Fragments of this dream—cold and shattered
It was never about me
Just falling around me
Rejoice with me as they take me all
And as I descend,
Know that my end, know that my end
And never goodbye

Continuously phantasmagoric is its vitality,
Crystallizing within the depths of my spirituality,
Sanctuary against the maleficent reality,
Encompassing past the fortification of mentality,
Dependency upon its draught of lethality,
Praying for the verisimilitude of immortality,
Enlightened after necrosis, for entwinement in universality
