A NATIVE SON’S SUNSET AT MO’BAY

As the sun kissed
the sea’s soothing bosom,
caressing waves splashed the shores
leaving spent froth
dissipating in the sand:
crystallizing aged memories
of sadistic slave ships once anchored here.
