Beyond the Pane

Villanelle: "Beyond the Pane"

B. Marquardt-Alexander with Sylvia Plath and Ima Gen (credited to all)

In sunlight's haze, I stare beyond the pane,

A world outside, where love and joy remain.

Where freedom calls, my heart begins to strain.

The grass whispers secrets, as I lie in vain,

Longing to flee, to leave this heartache's stain.

In sunlight's haze, I stare beyond the pane.

Memories of you, they linger, a refrain,

A bittersweet reminder of love's sweet pain.

Where freedom calls, my heart begins to strain.

The sky's a canvas, painted blue and wide,

A masterpiece of possibilities inside.

In sunlight's haze, I stare beyond the pane.

In dreams, I soar, untethered, unchained,

Where love's a rose, and heartache's but a stain.

Where freedom calls, my heart begins to strain.

The world outside beckons, a siren's sweet refrain,

A chance to start anew, to love again in vain.

In sunlight's haze, I stare beyond the pane.

Is the wind alive? That’s what the Choctaw believed.
The Apache called it, apocryphally, “the breath of the world.”

To them, the wind is the trickster you never see,
a joker on the plain of life.

What’s always arriving and always leaving?

What’s as old as the world, yet forever current?

Ever present and tireless, it seldom sleeps,
holding up jets, herding clouds like sheep,
filling sails, stirring leaves, causing rough seas.

What’s always passing, but already everywhere?

The Cherokee named ‘air’ the ‘keeper of spirits,”
because it sighs, cries, whispers and moans.
They credited it with great power and influence.

Today, we watch the skies with doppler witchery,
we forecast its path, with the gambler's odds - see,
the wind has turned on us, many times - like a tornado.

I’ve seen fewer rats in my alley this year
quickly credited it to climate change

The fighter who was with
a brilliant golden bow
the desired arrow
the fire tank!

He uttered a lamb's peaceable sigh
and the sheep's mellow reaction
to a lamb was always credited to its maker
unstoppable internal conflict
never let the sword sleep
design and build Jerusalem.

In the verdant English countryside
wandered around from one field to another,
enjoying the season's bounty to the fullest
Gliding through the rays of the sun.

In search of sympathy, insight, and peace
his gaze was drawn to a love orchard
numerous fragrant flowers burst forth
he was called Joy
unleash instinct and destroy reason
his art is defined by decked nakedness.

William Blake [1757-1827] was one of the most influential poets and artists of his day.

Seed Is the Need

SEED IS THE NEED

Introspectively, to give yourself is already credited.
You'll be needed when you have what is needed.
Simply assimilate the concept of being needed
And you'll see that our lives has already been seeded.
Sowing into others is where fulfilment is embedded
And in the moment of need, remember the seed
Cos that's the one and only means to succeed.

With a Thief Make Relationship Brief

My savings account was ready for his deposit
But got exactly The Opposite:
Thirty thousand our agreed amount
And simply ‘Three’ credited to my account…

Who can have his person spoilt
And the virtuous milk in him split?

I would say I could remember
His being obviously a cult member:
Rather a face unforgiving and somber
And a habit of counting women like number

Now that I sense ‘Some Sort of Thief
Our relationship should be damned brief

He may others’ valuables freely grab
Not mine who can’t tears steadily dab.

Happy Saint Patrick’s Day Everyone!

*Saint Patrick, who lived during the fifth century, is the patron saint of Ireland and its national apostle. Born in Roman Britain, he was kidnapped and brought to Ireland as a slave at the age of 16. He later escaped, but returned to Ireland and was credited with bringing Christianity to its people.

*Erin go Bragh sometimes Erin go Braugh, is the anglicisation of an Irish language phrase, Éirinn go Brách, and is used to express allegiance to Ireland. It is most often translated as "Ireland Forever."[

*The St. Patrick's Day tradition was popularized by Irish immigrants in the United States, who believed that wearing green made them invisible to leprechauns—the classic fairy creatures who pinch anyone they can see.

Winter

Snowflakes crowd the sky
tumble in silence to earth
their journey ended.
           ***

Note:
The old 'Sanjo-ohashi Bridge' spanned the Kamo River to Kyoto, the former imperial capital city of Japan during the Edo period; aka Tokugawa period (1603-1868). Kyoto marked the end of the old walking trail (a 300-mile journey) that existed between it and Edo (Tokyo).
The Edo period was the last era of traditional Japan ruled under the shogunate (military dictatorship), and was a time of peace, political stability, economic prosperity, and cultural and artistic creativity and advancement. During this period Japan maintained an isolation policy from the outside world. Christianity was banned and Neo-Confucianism was the prevailing philosophy followed. During this period, the Japanese style of poetry known as the Haiku flourished, with the Japanese poet Basho (1644-1694) credited for promoting its style.

Premium MemberI Love Lucy

Ricky Ricardo,
handsome talent of the Tropicana show.
serious, he cracks the whip, practices -
his bongos distract us.

Lucy,
his fiery red-headed wife - we
follow her madcap schemes,
her showbiz dreams.

Fred,
dumpy, grumpy, nearly dead
except he comes alive with dance -
far-fetched romance.

Ethel,
the love of his life? Well…
a partner in dance. Lucy’s sometimes friend.
They always make up in the end.

Little Ricky,
bongo player — itty bitty
show stealer. Not a natural son,
Keith’s not credited but the golden ticket, he won!

I Love Lucy
gets along famously,
handles the trite matters
of life. Laughter on a silver platter.

Myth of the peculiar pelican
Whose bill bloodies its feathery breast
Feeding blood to the chicks in its nest
Ancient acts ever evangelic
Sole sacrifice for the pelican
Whose beak speaks more than a relic can

as symbols to verify Christ's self-sacrifice.

tangerine sunrise~
oscillating reflections glow
like a sketch of your smile
at a glimpse of a new morn

a medley of indigo and carrot
as the sun floats in hazy sky
like the sparkle of your eyes
remembering first love

nebulous harbour at a distance
of steamships and shades
sailing in silhouettes
strumming my senses
like the way you hold me
as we waltz after dawn

Lithium Batteries

He invented things
all sorts of things
Electronic things
that were usefully
and novel
More things than he
probably will be credited
for
He created or recreated
God's gift to man
the dog
He created a tree with a
tethered horse.
Perfect likeness to the
real thing.
His mindset was off the grid
Something that would
add to securing people
By giving them access to
by monitoring those unseen parts
of there property
He'd walk the horse and dog to
The tree and leave them there
Even the tree could walk
They were programed with
a honning device that
adhered gps monitoring
and cameras
Folk got wind of these devices
and people started looking
at his inventions differently
Someone found away to control
the horse, dog, and tree
through usage of remote control
He didn't install a overhaul switch
and by the time things happened
it was to late.

I am tired
I am so so tired
Just sit for a while

See no evil
Hear no evil
Speak no evil

Shut my eyes
Listen to emptiness
Don't speak

Shhhhhhhhhhh

I am so so tired
Just sit for a while

Watch my world
go bye
