Sounds of wood crackling,
Our hearts warm and so aglow.
Outside……twinkling snow!

CRACKLING FIRECRACKERS
A dark inky sky bursts into crackles
Bang bang booms the joy of festivity
Sparkling sound I hear like popping shackles
Night's alive with whizz whoosh activity
Bang bang booms the joy of festivity
The acrid smell of burning sulphur taunts
Night's alive with whizz whoosh activity
Bright ambience where gunpowder scent haunts
The acrid smell of burning sulphur taunts
Sparkling sound I hear like popping shackles
Bright ambience where gunpowder scent haunts
A dark inky sky bursts into crackles

Come all ye faithful and gather around the fire place
Relieve your stress if good cheer you wish to embrace
Arctic weather can bring frost bite upon your face
Cold weather can be comforted by the blazing fire
Kids get in snowball fights and need to perspire
Let’s surround with soft music and cozy warm attire
Icicles hang from the roof and in the back yard you’d find
Notched wood wrapped in rope ready to be unbind
Growing up I thought Santa would burn his big behind!
Freezing cold winter should be eased by the comfy blaze
I watch the kids run around the couch in an innocent haze
Rustling inside the fuzzy blanket is where my puppy plays
Every year around the fireplace we celebrate the winter days

The sky has darkened, something is coming
Dread has entered my fearful listless heart
Beyond the horizon darkness has filled
Terror has become me, just every part
Feelings of delight can’t enter my soul
The effects of the darkness seeps in me
Then it happens, lightning strikes all around
Seeming like many dozens strike deadly
The yellow/gold lightening are mixed with red
Then thunder like you’ve never heard before
Comes bursting through your body thoroughly
The thunder seems to know, just what’s the score
Suffering the blast, the deafening sound
My eyes glare with red fire pasted within
No matter how often I blink it’s there
Image of crackling bolt of broken sin
A falter within its crushing bright blows
Also sounds that kills just as its own right
Power of the lightning, could it be saved
As prince of the fire, exposer of night
Could its power be infused with darkness
May the infinite grace of the lightning
Create hope for people instead of fear
Until then, this storm will be frightening

Crackling Hearts
Swoosh, whoosh a salty sea soars,
splish-splash colossal waves a roar.
Drip-drop, a leaky faucet spent,
trickle, streaming tears repent.
Pounding heart sore, you adore,
beating, loving pumps no more.
Thump of regret, of love in debt,
thrashing together you forget.
Fluttering beats on retreat,
sloshing a scent so very sweet.
Shattering bond, broken beyond,
a bellowing future now so fond.
Grimacing glares, hatred a flares,
spawning an odium of stares.
Soured smiles, trekking every mile,
whispering woes all the while.
Crackling hearts, burned apart,
smoldering pain from the start.
Hissing highs, kissing goodbye,
a burning love affair denied.

Cracks are my reality,
they are showing in my skin.
Weakness where I'm starting to break,
exposing all that I hold deep within.
Things no ones seen,
things never shown.
Things i re-see,
that over time turned unknown.
Holding my breath deeply within,
I must hold together these cracks in my skin.
Strengthen myself so I don't someday break,
and keep this one piece together that holds up my face.
Its a strain to my thoughts,
its a fear to my soul.
That I cant hide these cracks,
I try hard but they show.
All people stare,
none turn away.
Some count the pieces,
my cracking has made.
Hundreds of pieces,
all needing graves.
Once you start cracking,
your starting to break.
And once somethings broken,
you throw it away.

Fields on hills a patchwork of colour Green gold rice barley prairies
The sun filtering through the lace curtains danced on the tabletop
The cats unblinking yellow eyes exuded an air of quiet confidence
Square cut emerald ring perfectly bobbed red hair Table untouched
Spanish shawl embroidered in red blue+gold Freshly baked cakes
Incredible dishes innovative old receipes delightful establishment
Lavender, rose, aromatic coffee, talcum powder with a hint of lemon
The Chef tradition of long robes High headwear and flowing habits
Overhead speakers piped the singing of the sacred maidens songs
Wavy greying hair Family of baby ducklings Dying mans wishes
The air moist and heavy with sweet living scents of the woody forest
Lions leopards diamond pythons toucans cooed sidled and preened
